Most people will tell you that ice / snow worlds are death traps. They wouldn't be wrong. They rarely have resources beyond water, which needs to go through purification. They require a lot of resources for stations to withstand the biting cold, massive blizzards can play havoc with communication, landing, and guidance systems. Anything that lives on the world is usually tough enough to be a huge threat, or invasive enough to get into places without even realizing they are there. Snow can give way, causing massive avalanches and dune collapses at a moments notice. But there are moments. Moments that stay with you forever, when you see a scene that is beautiful and ethereal. A calm, serene moments on these worlds where you can feel a sense of true peace. A reminder that there is some beauty even on worlds like this.

This ambience really helps me sleep or relax. And it's an hour long? Thanks a lot!

The search for a new tomorrow. That has been the driving force for explorers for ages on end. What that new tomorrow entails, is different from person to person. A new life, a new discovery, each person has a story that drives them forward. Its those brave souls that band together to take the first steps of colonization. Especially in the early days, it was rough. Faster than light was still in its infancy, and communication from different systems was non-existent. So once a planet was ready for colonization, these people would board a colony ship and travel to the world. These people from all walks of life would be cut off from the wider galaxy, having to rely on each other to survive if things went wrong. Assuming they were able to make planet fall, the colony ship would be transformed into the heart of the new colony in a process that guaranteed to trap them on that world for better or worse. There are stories of horrific failures and fantasical success of these colonists, and even though the process has been streamlined over the years, many worlds still have the original colony ships, either as the core of civilization, an abandoned husk of a failed effort, or a forgotten area that is no longer seen as valuable as newer locations. Still, we have to give our respect to those colonists. Without their efforts, we wouldn't have been brave enough to search the stars as we do now.
