    I have plain numnahs/pads, in shades of blue, plus one white one that I thought was a dressage pad, but turns out it isn't. Ahh the days when i was fit and healthy and thought I'd be going out competing! I prefer cooler dry weather, I overheat badly in hot weather, and the damp irritates my nerve damage. Love your Christmas tree with the ornaments people have given you. And how cool is that, you making a birthday card for someone!

      Yes I should have said white saddle pad as well, have plenty of them. Shades of blue is nice. I feel slightly sorry for the person receiving the hand drawn card but I enjoy doing it and it’s save a few pounds. 😂🙈

    She licks the right side of her mouth. I've always had the sense that it is her mouth that is bothering her. I know you lunge her with the tack on but she is in control of how much pressure is going on that side of her mouth when you are not controlling the reins. When you use one rein she can sort of do the same and keep the right side of the bit less pressure. Have you tested her with no bit? Just a thought.

    • @EJMEQUESTRIAN
      @EJMEQUESTRIAN 21 день тому

      Yes have ridden her with no bit and she was a little bit less tongue lolling, but didn’t stop completely. She also rolls her tongue daily when she waiting for me to feed her or I’m mucking out. She does it when bored, wanting my attention along with the riding. I do agree that it’s a pressure thing. I trust my dentist and he’s triple checked her teeth so I know it’s not teeth related. She’s never had sore corners of her mouth. I just wonder if it’s connected to something that took place when she was broken in and she’s holding tension from back then. It’s so hard to know what she is trying to indicate. Maybe also a habit from previous discomfort 🤷‍♀️

    At the risk of you thinking I've become one of your stalkers (4 comments in 2 weeks) I'm very intrigued by your videos and have a suggestion. Viz : quality over quantity. Indirectly I've already suggested some videos you could do on your other channel and it occurred to me that if you are getting short of ideas do fewer videos! Or... as another commentator said a few days ago...your videos are increasingly more about you than the horses. If this be true then there might be a rich vein of interest to be mined by telling us about (say) how you got into horses in the first place.... incidents ( falling off etc)... all of which you can talk about publically without endangering your privacy because you can control the narrative.

    Oh dear, poor Sienna, and poor you. Sorry if I missed you saying so, but what bit and noseband are you using? My lad had terrible issues when I first bought him, process of elimination and my "Dr Dolittle Act" I sussed out that he has a low palette (sp?) so a jointed bit jabs him in the roof of the mouth, and the bars of his mouth are narrow so a double jointed bit was no use, and he has plump cheeks, so a tight noseband doesn't help. I went back to basics and put him in a flexible rubber snaffle, and no noseband and problems solved! Also his saddle was an nth too far forward and cramping the movement of his shoulder, which was making him tense, and making him trip constantly.

    • @EJMEQUESTRIAN
      @EJMEQUESTRIAN Місяць тому

      She just wears a Micklem bridle but noseband is super loose. Bit wise we have played around with a fair few, and she seems to react the same whether it’s jointed, straight bar, straight bar with port, fixed or loose ring. So have stuck with the ns turtle top which seems to be the best of the bunch currently. Saddle was fitted for her but is due a check and re flock in the new year.

    We have a big local fireworks display just a field over from Peds field. He stays out for it, I give him a calmer bite 30mins before it’s due to start, a huge pile of hay which I put at the top end of his field, furthest away from the fireworks and then I stay with him while it happens (on the other side of the fence, not in the field with him!) He’s always been OK with it, just stress eats!! My old pony used to get so upset by them though. The first year I left him in, he was throwing himself against the door and side of the stable in an absolute panic!! There was nothing I could do. So ever since that he was always out so when Pedro came along he adopted the same routine.

    Can you maybe put out a vlog on what you can do with a retired horse to keep them stimulated and maintain their condition?

    How about some content about being a professional equestrian? I know some of your clients probably wouldn't be willing, but even if one or two were you could share some of that. And maybe the ins and outs of running the business too? Or take us with you when you are being photographer for the day? Ooh and I'd love to see behind the scenes of your shop ... The sourcing, the prep ❤

    Personally I like hearing about the downs as well as the ups. As an owner of a mare who is consistently in rehab it’s refreshing to follow someone else’s ‘less than perfect journey’ and pick up tips from you, as opposed to seeing all the successes without the ‘bad bits’. Keep going please 😊. I wish you all the best with Sienna , I’m sure she’ll come good in time with all your expertise and patience. 🤞

      Thank you for your comment, and sorry your mare is constantly in rehab. It is tough going at times isn’t it. Fingers crossed both our mares come out the other side.

    Strange at it may seem 'you' are the focal point of your channel. If it is growing, which it is, it is because people like you. :). You are very appealing and so if you are comfortable with it...just keep filming your everyday life. Add in what you eat, what you get up to during the day. If you can get a friend or family member into the vlogs sometimes that is great as well. As for the horse content everyone is waiting to see Sienna do dressage so keep trying, but I think you should get another project horse. Retire your lovely Coop and put your energy into a new one. Doesn't need to be expensive or big, or flashy. In fact the more quirks the better. The internet audience loves the ups and downs and the overcoming of challenges. Hope that helps.

      Thank you for this. Goodness yes to the day Sienna starts doing a bit more 🤞🤞. Sadly no funds for a third and I have a ban that I’m not allowed more than two horses 😂. Which to be fair is just about what the bank account can cope with. ☺️
