Elf player?? I *LOVE* the new monster abilities! I can't wait to see what they did with my Cave Drakes and Dragon's! haha!

It is a fun list to play, but I don't know how competitive they are going to be. You're going to have a lot of bad match-ups; magic resistance, high courage, a lot of F5, cavalry, basically any army with decent mobility or shooting... Legolas. I talked about this in the Battle Report comments that are linked to this video. The strafing attack is pretty good and you could potentially strafe once, but it would be difficult to consistently get outside of charge range. You could probably kill off your opponents heroes, but losing 1-2 Heroic Moves and your Wraith(s) are surrounded and dead. I think the Wraiths are going to be great in lists that can have a meat shield of orcs. I'm going to give them another go soon. I'll post about it afterwards! Thanks for the comment!

All great points. I think they'll win some games, but they have far too many bad match-ups to take any major tournaments. They're fun to play with, but probably not to play against. Thanks for the comment!

I didn't use the Strafing SA because it will almost always put you in charge range after the first attempt. I agree with keeping the Wraiths close to each other. I actually thought of just going after one flank on the first few turns, then turning my attention to the other flank, but I didn't want to be "gamey" in a friendly game. lol This game would have had very different tactics in a competitive environment, so I may give it another go. I do think it has some serious problems though that I've addressed in other comments. Thanks for the comments, Michael. I'll try to get another game in with the WoWLL soon and see if it's any better.

I saw that and I agree. I think it's a misprint... there are a *lot* of those. lol Gully still only has Fly 6" too. I'm glad Fell Wargs aren't having to stand up on 2 legs so they can fit on 25mm bases at least.

@titaninthedeep great battle report mate, think everyone tends to forget about channelling but I think it'll be used a lot more as the edition goes on and people get use to it!

Thank you, Matt! Definitely! I should have used it a time or two in this game after I wore down the heroes Will, but they still have Resistance! Channeling has the potential to be busted with some of the spells.

LOL! It has some good match-ups, but it's going to seriously struggle vs. any army with magic resistance heroes and/or a lot of F5. The fact that you can no longer customize the wraiths and they still have Will of Evil in this LL makes them uncompetitive. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the comment! In a tournament setting, I would agree! If this were a competitive game, I would have spent a few more turns flying around trying to Black Dart and Drain Courage Elendil and Isidur to burn off their resources, but it's going to be tough on this legion to do those old tricks. BD got nerfed pretty hard. It used to be a S9 hit with a 12" range. Now it's S6 with a 6" range. On top of that, you need 3 dice to get it to consistently go off and now there's *A LOT* more magic resistance, especially on Good Heroes. You can't customize the wraiths M-W-F any more. Kevin and I talk more about the WoW and Numenor in our recap video that will be out tomorrow. Also, the impact hits and strafing attack's are a cool addition, but not enough to make this LL great imo.

I agree. Every thing described in paragraph 1 is for nerds. Your only takin this list because you bought 3 fell beasts, and you want to take 3 fell beasts.

3 models are a lot easier to keep up with than 40 as well. Ha!

@titaninthedeep thanks. I actually sold off all my hobby paints as of this time lol. My son starting kindergarten has completely changed life at this point. Intrigued about the new addition as I hadn't really heard, so I'll keep an eye on your content. My issue is actually getting to a place to play a game, but I definitely have interest.

We all have piles of shame, my friend. ha! Congrats on getting your kid out of the house for a few hours too! hahaha! We're really lucky where I live. We have a booming MESBG community. I've told the story before, but our group started with just 3 guys buying a few armies and getting together at a local gaming store back around 2018. We have had a tournament every month since the spring of 2020 and average around 20-30 players at most of them now. We have 2 major tournaments that draw dozens of players from all over the US. You could probably do the same. Tolkien sells himself and MESBG is a great game. It's GW's best, by far. If you need any help, please let me know and I'll see if I can help!

Hey Keith! You're right! We muff rules all the time. ha! I've been playing this game since 2006-7 and still do it. @titaninthedeep I've not actually tried him yet myself, I keep finding myself going for the cpt on horse over him but I will do it one day. Also been experimenting with some funny riv alliance lists

I've seen him ran a few times. He can do some major damage with that weird whirling blades rule, but I totally get why you would go with a mounted Capt over him. Very limited mobility is Lothlorien's major weakness.

Just to be clear. I like Far Harad and the lesser known armies. However, "all that crap," is in fact, difficult to find. lol There are some awesome 3d prints available for Far Harad and some of the other more difficult to obtain models, but the likelihood of GW rereleasing them any time soon isn't great. Maybe we'll see a new available model shift on the website when they release the new supplement or they'll do another MTO.

Thanks for the thoughts, Mikey! I agree, I love those box sets. That's how I got started years ago. Although the Mines of Moria didn't have a full rules manual, it was very condensed, but that was also 2006. I hope they come out with a new one sometime in the next year or so and really put some more effort into pushing this game.

Thanks, Jmacc! I love that set. I bought one for myself and one for my younger brother, who has never touched it. lol I really hope we get a new supplement with some more Battle Host boxes (maybe Rivendell, Khazad-dum, Easterlings and Corsairs). Any guesses on the new supplement?

I've heard the same about the fall of arnor. I haven't heard about the last Alliance thing though? I hate to hear that. I hope GW can get something worked out with the Tolkien estate. And honestly, I know it's contentious with a lot of older lotr fans, but I really hope they get the rights to the rings of power. That would draw in a lot of new and younger players. A lot of us older players tend to forget that the films were released over 20 years ago now, so they're ancient to the younger generations! Lol

@titaninthedeep I've also hear rumblings about a new edition but not sure if there's any fact to that. As much as I didn't like the show I'd be very happy with new minis as the ascetic was rly cool. It might have been because of RoP that the LA was fucked

The visuals of ROP were by far the best part of the show. They were spectacular. I hope they get better writers for the rest of it and get a lot closer to the core story already in place, but I'm not hopeful. I'm still going to watch it. Probably with some disdain and enough eye rolls to win Olympic gold. My niece and nephew absolutely love ROP. I believe most of the fans of the show are Gen Zer's.

They are scary. It's nearly impossible to see them in the dark and even worse when they have a veil of rain.

Thanks for the comment guys. I've followed you guys for a long time. Love your channel and your content! I played against some great players at March on music City with this army this past December. I had 3 major, 1 minor win and one tie with it, I ended up finishing second right behind Marcus Hammond. The war bats are absolutely fantastic models. Their versatility is incredible and they are some of the best models in the game to take on ring wraiths and enemy spellcasters. They wound wraiths on 5's if they get to charge. I haven't played with the ogres yet, but the Aussies seem to love them. They are definitely great value for their points. I have three of them, I just haven't painted them yet, but they will definitely go on a table sometime this summer. As for this army, it is easily a top tier army, especially along with the other green allies it has. I can't wait to get it in another tournament. Would love to hear your thoughts after you get some games in with it

@@intothewestpodcast We would love to have you at momc! We had a ton of players this past December. Marcus got me by one VP to take 1st. He's an excellent player. I plan on playing this army quite a bit this year too. I want to try out other variations. I definitely want to see what it looks like if you bring along the necromancer or some of the wraiths from the Dark Powers of Dol Guldur. I also have two troll brutes and the club and scythe trolls as well. There's a lot of great options with these three armies. I'll be over in the DC area in 2 weeks. I won't be around long enough to get in any games. I don't think this time, but we plan on touring back to that area later in the summer. I hope to catch a tournament.

I've seen a bunch of your battle reports and discussions about the game. The closest we will be getting to you guys this year is Denver. They have an awesome group there now. I met with a guy named Ryan Koops a few years ago and we got a few games in while I was touring in Colorado. We pulled in a few other players that hadn't played since before the pandemic and now their group has exploded and they get people from all over the area to every tournament. They have a great group of players with some awesome humans. I really like that group. When I read the line above where you said, "the hammonds in our local league" I was wondering if a few of them had moved or they were an entirely different group. Ha!

We're planning on making a trip to the UK sometime in the near future. We had a plan in place to go back in 2020, but I think the reason we didn't goes without explaining. We have a lot of friends that tour over there and a small fanbase. We have always wanted to check out the UK. If you ever make the trip here, come to Nashville, Tennessee. It's called music city for a reason. It's one of the most entertaining cities in the US.

That virus nearly wiped out our industry, along with a lot of others. Well, technically the reaction to the virus. Our band is called the Dark Waters Project. It's usually in Americana/Darkgrass genre. Nashville is a blast. There are more bars in a 5 square block area of Nashville than there are *total* in almost any other city in the US. It's a wonder they remember the trip. ha!

The holiday season and all kinds of other real life shenanigans gets in the way sometimes.

It definitely helps if they're having to charge terror causing models. If I play the AotD, I bring 100% shields. D8 is so, so good.

It was pretty incredible to experience. The ground was rumbling in that video along with that roar. We were very blessed and fortunate to be safe, I believe seven people unfortunately lost their lives across Middle Tennessee from those storms.

We had to run inside of the building, because the tornado was just down the street from us. We ended up going into a cooler in a restaurant, because Hobby Lobby had locked their doors. The dogs are fine!

Yes, you can! You can swap a weapon on any warrior model, as long as it's of the same type. For example, a one-handed sword could be swapped for a one-handed axe. Or a 2-handed club could be swapped out for a sword. It will cost you one extra point if that weapon is not listed in the model's profile. You can do the same thing for unnamed heroes. An example would be a Moria goblin captain only has access to a sword. For 5 points, you could give your goblin captain an axe or pick, giving them access to piercing strike. Again, this can only be used on unnamed heroes. You can't change out the weapon of Elrond, Bolg, Legolas, etc unless they have the option in their profile.

Yeah, that could be a solution. Then theres these scenarios that storm chasers deal with when having escape routes such as traffic jams, closed detoured roads, fallen trees/ power lines, and even dead end roads. Im not saying its a bad idea to drive in the opposite direction. Which is something i would prolly do, but you have to take in consideration that your routes are blocked off too. Anyway, its not up to me on what anyone decides to do. Its just some thoughts of what can or could happen in that situation.

Some tornadoes move at highway speed or faster and can be rain wrapped as well as change directions. Getting to shelter should be the first choice only get in a car and try to drive away if it's a last resort as in a wedge tornado and no shelter available. Then you might as well try to run cause you'll surely be dead otherwise.

We wound up going into a large restaurant. They had a huge freezer that We all managed to fit inside. That's the tornado passed just down the street. Trying to outrun a tornado is a very bad idea. Especially in an area that doesn't have a lot of long straight roads like a congested city in the hills of Middle Tennessee. Your visibility is very limited, along with traffic and potentially other things on the road blocking your path.

This one was definitely rain wrapped. The only time you could make out the cylinder was during lightning flashes or when it hit a transformer. There are even a few pictures and videos of this same tornado hitting a substation, a huge fireball went up into the sky as it looked like the tornado drew up the flames into the sky.

It’d help if there was a SIREN!!!!!! I just read another comment that said the town won’t install sirens because “people can use their phones” WHAT?!?

it's not, the Clarksville Tornado hit earlier that day, this one went through parts of Nashville, Madison and then Hendersonville a few hours after the Clarksville Tornado.

Blackfyre87 is correct. There were apparently around a dozen tornadoes that touch down all over Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky during the storms. This tornado in the video went all the way past Gallatin, TN and was apparently on the ground for around 45 minutes. The F3 that hit Clarksville was a completely different tornado.

I watched this Tornado touch down outside Nashville as i was working and driving through the city. It was so wild to watch!@@titaninthedeep

@@titaninthedeep that’s so full on! We don’t get tornados in Queensland. We’ve had the odd hurricane but I’ve never been close to one. We just get floods and bushfires haha

@@samjohnston2400 We don't get a lot of them near Nashville, but that was a surreal experience. That tornado ended up hitting a half mile down the road from us. It ended up killing six people across our state. Three of them were about 10 miles down the road from us. The tornado in this video did a ton of damage to our town, but thankfully no one died here. You can Google Hendersonville, TN tornado to see the damage.

It's super fun to play small points tournaments. We do 150 and sometimes 200 point tournaments in our Nashville group and they are a blast to play. You may end up getting to play seven or eight games in the tournament.

He's a good dude. Great player. It was a miracle I won my game against him in that tournament. He had one of the best lists in the game at the time.

The Balrog is a blast to play, but definitely takes some practice to master. If that's even possible. I'll take the Balrog over Sauron every time. That base Fight 10 is just insane.

I'm completely new to an all mounted army, so I suck, but holy crap that army can hit hard. Smithy was playing probably the perfect counter to what I brought or that could have been crazy. I could see how an all mounted Mordor could be a nightmare to deal with, especially 20+ Morgul Knights and 2 Wraiths. I've used the dismount shenanigans for years with Warg Marauders.
