I believe there are 16 swim outs. 10 facing the beach under the entertainment stage and 6 facing south, perpendicular to the beach.

I'm not sure because we were never there during the day, just in the afternoon. There's also at least 2 different sides of the resort that have swim outs. We were on the south side. It was mostly in shade by 5 o'clock in the afternoon but there was some sun.

Pool depth is only about 4 feet at most. You can always stand up.

Supplemental smoke is the only way to fix this. I found my Pellet tubes constantly went out because the Yoder is so efficient in its burn, it leaves no oxygen in the pit to sustain the smoldering pellets in the tube. I tried numerous times to use various smoke tubes and they ALWAYS went out, assumable because of lack of oxygen. If I cracked the door on the Yoder, it would stay lit but must of the smoke went out through the crack. The smoke Daddy was the only way to provide a good amount of smoke over just using pellets alone.

@@Phantomsmlliw I have alot of grills, kamado, barrel smoker, yoder flattop & weber kettle, I think I'll just sell it. Pellet grills are like gas grills they have no place in bbq flavor, thanks for your help!!

@@sherri082772 I get it. I still use it for those long cooks at low temps. Nothing like stuffing it in there and going to bed. Wake up with it just at the stall. Always ready for supper. I use it at 400° for chicken legs too. As you, I have all those other tools as well. Different tools for different jobs, I always say. Cheers.

You bleed off as much as necessary. How you set it up is you use an aquarium multiport manifold instead of the zip tie I'm temporarily using here. You bleed off pressurized air to ambient air until you see smoke coming from around the cap and other leaks in the Magnum PIG. Then you add just a touch to keep from seeing smoke coming out of the PIG. This is the sweet spot. You want to be just slightly higher pressure from your pump than from the Yoder's fan which is pushing back on it. At this point you can increase air pressure at your pump for more smoke or cut it back till it barely starts leaking from the Magnum for a lighter touch of smoke. If you want a real light amount of smoke, don't use it at all and just rely on the pellets to do that work. If that were the case though, you wouldn't have mounted a Smoke Daddy to your Yoder😁

Mine goes for at least 2.5 hours using soaked wood chips. Not sure why you're having issues.

@@Phantomsmlliw You are not suppose to use soaked wood chips because it cuts down on the smoke. If they actually worked right, there would not be so many people making modifications to them on sites like this.

@@michaelthurman9272 dude, it works perfectly for me. It's the YODER that is sealed better than most smokers, thus needing more air pressure. It's designed just fine. Soaked chips give me exactly what I'm looking for. I've done it both ways. Without soaking, there's too much smoke. Anyway, you do you and I'll do me. Smoke Daddy has since added a second air pump for special applications like the Yoder.

@@Phantomsmlliw If smoke daddy's worked properly, they wouldn't be all these videos on modifications here on youtube to try and get them to work, now would there be. On top of that, on their website, it says not to use wet chips, They are poorly engineered, and not meant to work for more than an hour, primarily because the tube is to thin, the bottom chokes itself off with ash, and the pump is to weak, and yes, I have the one with the variable settings.

@@michaelthurman9272 you're certainly entitled to your opinion however, my results vary from your opinion. I have no issues with the system and it does exactly what I want it to do. The biggest issue I had was that I was using it in a very well sealed Yoder instead of some leaky smoker like many people own. I'm not in this to argue with you or your opinion. Clearly others are satisfied with what I've done when comparing your opinion to those of the others. Have a nice day.

I've had no issues whatsoever with the electronics due to the heat from the PIG. My Yoder still has the original electronics. If you are at all concerned, just install a small heat deflector between the Magnum and the controls.

Thanks Tim, I think if there was a problem it would have already shown up. I started looking if anyone had mounted a Magnum in the same spot on their YS640 and your video shows up in my search. You have been most helpful, Thank you Sir!

No problem. Where I was adjusting the air flow by pinching the tubing, I added a multi valve mini manifold. Now I can open the main valve to the Magnum and if it's running too hot or quickly, I can open one of the other valves to ambient air to bleed off air going to the Magnum. This way the pump is running at full capacity all the time but I can control the air flow through the valves instead of choking it and backing up the pressure to the pump.

Tim Willms I purchased a pump similar to yours and I plug that into a variable fan/pump speed control that I bought off of Amazon. Basically it acts like a dimmer switch. The pump can go high speed, low speed or anything in between.

​@@chinmikec I was wondering the same thing. Just got the smoke daddy last night. Haven't had a chance to do anything yet with my yoder ys640. Wanted to see if I could test it out through the probe port before drilling but wasn't sure if it was too close to the controls or not.

Yes it does. No problems.

Be aware that I've since added a manifold. The pump keeps going but the excess is bled off to ambient air. That's a good thing because the pump continues to pump the normal amount but using a multi port manifold allows you to adjust how much air goes into the Smoke Daddy and how much is bled off. This trip was originally set up through Sunwing, a Canadian travel group. Getting this room is NOT even something that is an option from Canada. Fortunately, I went there about 3 weeks after it opened in November of 2018 and got to know the manager and the customer service management first hand. I did a number of large video's on UA-cam regarding the resort and what we thought about it. They can be found on our channel and also can be found by searching "Riu Palace Costa Mujeres Walkthrough". There are about 4 or 5 main videos and then there are specialized videos too. I think they found this to be of great free PR to them. I emailed management and requested a room upgrade to a swimout room. They had no problem giving us the upgrade and we greatly appreciated the staff going out of their way to make this happen. Great group of people to work with!

Tim Willms So you know, your videos worked and my husband and I just booked a Swim Out Jr. Suite for a trip this summer. My hair stylist was there a few weeks ago and loved the place, too. I showed my husband your videos and he was sold. Thanks.

It lets them see that our goal to make their resort shine, was successful. The general manager already knows this as I spoke with him the other day and he confirmed with me that we provide great PR for them by way of the videos. This is why we got an upgrade to our room. 😉

Thanks! We went just after they opened and there were no videos of the place so I made one to answer all the questions I had before I went, figuring others would want to know as well. I was right! Go figure.

Don't bother with it. The controller only provides a very small window of adjustability. You get much better control using a multi valve manifold.

@@laurendacraig7812 simply Google the resort and also check trip advisor 1. restaurants are a joke avoid all food, servers would pick on food when you are not looking, super salty, no cooked by chefs or people who do not know how to cook and the quality is subpar we got sick even with Duvarol travel meds 1b. food: it cannot even make guacomole correct it is watered down 2. service: mostly speaks Spanish, they will treat locals better and mostly do not want to help you or care for your tips; they have attitude problems and will make up excuses not to make drinks for you, tacos will arrive at your room super soggy dripped in cold cheese whiz 3. room service: they are low in staff and resources to the point where u think they will shut down u will need to pay for toothbrush and paste and they are cheap on slippers and will not provide them to you until you beg and beg for days and even then it's an issue they will promise it and will not bring it 4. resort: there is this overall gloominess, smells funny, staff hate their job and mostly wont greet you, food is not fresh and overly salty they cannot even get Mexican food correct even Taco Bell taste better and the worst thing is the super wet bed, we changed rooms and it still had the same issue 5. security: I got mugged staff didnt care and said it was my problem (they are lazy) and the rooms sliding door into the balcony is locked by a dinky dollar store push lock if u push on the door 1/5 of the door will open This is a scam resort do not go please it was so bad, we had to switch out immediately. If food and stay does not matter go ahead but u can go to a hostel for a fraction of the price.

No, not always but it is refreshing on a hot day when it is. During November it was windy when we were there.

Rachel, he does know from experience. The reason I know is because I'm his daughter. People bring kids into pools and the kids didn't go to the bathroom before they went into the pool. So technically speaking, it's the kids and the parents fault.

Presumptuous?? I don't step in those things so NO. The only "experience" I have is watching people go in but never come out until supper time! Tell me what your thoughts are on most, and I said MOST, (not ALL) people going in but not coming out. Facts tell me that when drinking is involved, urination increases. In the Riu Palace in Cabo, the power went out and you would not believe what comes to the surface of the water when the pool pumps stop working!! It's disgusting. Oil slicks, lotion slicks, condoms, coloured foam from God knows what, etc. start floating around. Rachel, believe what you want but I can only surmise that you are a contributing factor of what goes on in there. Good luck. Besides, there's a BIG difference in making a video for a company and getting paid to do it and making a video with a review and comments. One of my buddies got a severe infection in his leg from those swim-up pools. Four months later he's still not healed. It was real bad. These are just my observations and comments. Don't like it? Don't watch.

Palace has higher quality furnishings, better utensils, better rooms, better booze, beer, etc, the list goes on and on. Also, guests of the palace have full access to the other Riu properties but the Dunamar does not have access to the Palace.

Yes they do. Riu Palace guests have full access to the Dunamar and all it has to offer. They are not allowed to enter into the Palace property, however.

The suites are above the stage area at the South end. They are accessed via elevators in the hallway just before you walk into the stage area. The swim out suites are located below the stage area, accessed by the same elevators or via stairway down to the pool level.

I don't have any recommendations when it comes to rooms. Ours was just a bit north of the lobby, with a view of the ocean over the eating areas. It is calm on some days for sure. They have a free excursion to town that you can take once, with a voucher. It will take you to a jewelry store but you can opt out of that and go to the various malls, Walmart, Costco, flea markets, etc. Just be back to the jewelry store on time to get your ride back.

Call, no I didn't, unfortunately. Inside the suite is the same as the regular suites. The only real difference is the swim out pool where the patio is. These rooms are located just below the show stage area at the South end of the resort. The band shell is directly above these suites that face East, towards the water. There are a few more suites that face South, just around the corner. They also are below the stage area but they face South.

Yes there is, 24 hrs a day. You'll like your room but you do share the patio "pool" with others, in a sense. They are connected.

room service is garbage they mostly do not speak english and do not order the food from the one page menu, it's disgusting.

Yeah, nobody left it but lots kept going into it! Yuk!! Keep drinking but never leave?? Don't need to be an Einstein to figure out what's going on in there!
