I have read 3 out of 4 of these books. Amy Tintera was one of my favorite books I read this year (tied with 1Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James)! I loved how flawed Lucy was as a character. Home is Where the Bodies are was my least favorite this year. I wanted to DNF, but continued because ...I am stubborn & persistent?? 😄 As I did finish it, and I know you read the ending...I can say I didn't feel like she did a great job with characterization. I finished wanting to know more. Good book picks! I enjoyed this a lot!!

I gave Listen for the Lie, one star---thought it was terrible!

Hi Shannon! I agree with your decision to DNF that book. Life is too short and there are too many books in the world to be read to waste time on books that are just meh. And I've read too many meh books for bookclubs too. I don't do that anymore. I just say, look I tried, but it sucked. 😂 Happy stitching, reading, and crocheting! 😊 Ps. I've read and loved 4 of the books you mentioned, which I assume means we have similar taste, so I'm definitely going to pick up the others soon! I haven't read any of Tiffany D. Jackson's work (yet), and I appreciate having your suggestions as a starting point.

So about 5 of these have now made it onto my December reading list, Merry Creepmas :)

I don't know how I missed this video, but somehow I did. 😂 I'm weird about my hair too. I've paid for too many hair cuts that I hated. Now I don't let anyone touch my hair except my husband. He cuts it for me and when I used to dye it, he did that too. Now I'm just embracing the gray. 😂 I like your vlog style videos, but I like your Flosstubes too. I also like your book review videos but I'm way behind on those. I did finally get to read "Gone To See the River Man." My fave is The Witcher. Looks like a really fun stitch. And that artwork is well drawn. He looks like he could be an actual person. On the welcome matt - great idea but wrapping your welcome matt in clear plastic may be slippery. Why not use material that will hold up to being walked on, like maybe wind chime string or some very thin nylon cord? Then leave it uncovered. It's a really cute idea.

I vote for Rose Library. Because first: its a beautiful chart. And second: I stitch it myself, and its fun. I use for first time CXC threads and so far very happy with it. Happy stitching

I love Halloween at hawk run hollow and any and all MFE patterns! Hoping to kit up and start hawk run and fruits of plenty next year!

We have very similar tastes in patterns - that Rose Library is incredible.. I asked for it for Xmas haha!

I love the idea of the trio of ladies in a library. I think they would be stunning. Rose library is also beautiful and Bellatrix is also gorgeous. You are inspiring me to want to do a fancy lady in some form.

I would love to see you do Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow on 32 count. I think it would be amazing. I can only find it in paper, not PDF, so that might be a drawback. But still worth it 🥰

Im in the process of collecting the fabulous house series. I could not face a paper chart, so i made a copy on my winstitch program. Im not very quick using charting software, but it only took me an evening to do one chart. I now have it uploade to pattern keeper. If you dont have winstitch, i think there are plenty of free software available for you to use.

Hi Shannon, of all the projects you showed I absolutely love Rose Library. I think it would be a very fun stitch uncovering all the little details as you progressed. If you want to use CXC threads Abbie at Cross’n’Crafts would kit it up for you. You just need to send her the details of the chart and she will make you up a thread pack. Alternatively if you wanted to kit up Bellatrix Arts and Designs could do you a thread pack including your fancy floss and also a bead pack. Sorry for being such an enabler 😊

I love how you talk about your cross stitch evolving, mine did too this year, i moved away from aida onto linen and mostly use weeks dye works/gentle arts threads, and just enjoy it so much more.

I'm doing the one called 100 Owls now and I want to start the Summer in the Village one too. ❤ I love your idea for the bookshelf! I have that pattern on my Etsy wishlist. 😊 I think I'd like to assign colors to genres of books and stitch it like that.❤ I love your color conversion for the shelf! Thank you for showing the OwlForest free pattens I've been going mushrooming hunting everyday here in spain thanks to extra rain we've been having this winter. So love the mushroom an Toadstool pattern. I still hoping to start the Treasure Island Owlforest pattern and the 100 Owls. Have you completed any of the OlwForest designs?

Love love love I see you in my dreams. I really hope it was the pencil causing you issues and you can continue working on it. But in case you need to restart it, better do it earlier than waiting until you have a bunch of the piece stitched up. I also love you idea with the bookshelf stitch. If I wasn't in the biggest reading slupm for the past 2-3 years now, I could also consider it. Maybe at a later point 🤷🏼‍♀️

I love hearing about everyone's plans for 2025! I decided to Wipdown too after I saw Crafting Gaming Jamie's video, and I did great - for about a month. Yesterday I decided to do 50 new starts before I turn 50 - so I've just done a complete 180! 😂🤣 Happy stitching! 😊

It might be worth your time checking out the finishes in the HAED Gallery, there are 3 finishes of Mini Firefly and you can see exactly how it looks stitched. It could avoid disappointment later - just a suggestion.

I liked stamped kits too and the first 4 I bought, I found out the hard way about unlicensed kits. 😂 I felt bad after I found out, but I'm still going to stitch them, because I bought them. I'm definitely curious to know where people are getting the licensed kits from because I haven't been able to find any. BTW, I love your new start!! ❤

I decided to jump right in the deep end, so I just ordered "Gone To See the River Man" from the library! 😂

I just looked in every library in North Carolina and none of them have and David Sodergren books. 🙄 I like mysteries and thrillers, and i read quite a lot of them, but I've been looking for a nice juicy scare for about a year now. I've even Googled top horror books and read several of them, but they weren't creepy. The really weird thing is, it's not that difficult to creep me out. 😂 Thanks for the recommendations! I'll keep trying to find a Sodergren to try.

Totally support the stamped kits, whatever your reasons. I also have a couple of those because they are just so effortless, especially for days when you've had enough and just want to sit down and relax and not be bothered about counting stitches and such. Also love your cardigan 🥰
