I found this song 10 years ago when I was 20. Shit man I always wanted to be in love and I loved to long for something then. Throughout the years I would periodically check on this song while I was in my feelings. In a decade I can’t say much has changed but mentally I know this song is beautiful and it’s for me and not for her.

Hit rock bottom and a friend helped me back outa that black hole and now we're engaged, this was one of the songs he played as I'd never come across them before. It's a song that reminds me how far I've come. Thank you ja xxx😊

This was how I was introduced to JBT, caught it on PBS at like 3-4AM one night. Was mesmerized and didn't understand was I was seeing/listening too, but it was fucking awesome.

Playing a standard bass takes a lot of different techniques and a good sense of timing. Playing on a fretless takes practice to get the intonation right but doing it on a double bass and pulling out a funk inspired solo is next level musicianship. There is a live version of Pickapart with a section using slap, on a double bass.
