Israel is said to be waging a major offensive against Palestinian guerillas in southern Lebanon. An army spokesman said troops are searching Israel's self-proclaimed security zone. NBC says Israeli artillery pounded Palestinian targets, but the US state department is still withholding confirmation.
Investigators at Tokyo's International Airport are looking into what may have caused the United Airlines jumbo jet to shut down three engines today. The plane was carrying 239 passengers and a crew of 19 and it did manage to make a safe emergency landing. The shutdown occurred while the jet was 39,000 ft in the air.
Poland's worst labor unrest in years is spreading. Some 3,000 workers walked out today, joining some 12,000 steel workers who began a strike last week. The group is demanding 50% pay hikes and the freedom of political prisoners. Violence erupted yesterday, when workers rallied in support of the steel workers.
Retired lieutenant colonel Oliver North delivered the commencement address at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University this morning. North told the group that they must live up to their potential and never quit. He also talked about his own troubles in the Iran-Contra scandal.
One man went to Great Heights this morning to make a last stand against the demolition of the Mahoning Valley's last operational blast furnace. Local historian Rich Blackwell climbed up the old number one of Republic Steel to demonstrate his concern for preserving symbols of the Valley Steel making past. He stayed there about 6 hours to make his point, but admits it may have done little good.
A healthy outpouring of generosity - that's how 21's Evonne Woloshyn describes what happened this weekend and today at the Youngstown Community Food Bank. It was Saturday that a convoy of some 40 vehicles moved into Youngstown carrying food for the needy. Food was solicited by those at the Youngstown Community Food Bank, and by 7 o'clock this morning hundreds of those in need began lining up to receive it at this warehouse on Marshall Street. 125,000 lb of food were donated coming from as far away as Maine and Buffalo, New York. This year some 30 grocery chains and baking companies offered donations. That's up from 19 last year. The idea of giving away what would normally be thrown away is catching on and keeps the food bank in operation. "It's a way to compliment the people that are having problems. If we can just raise them up one notch and save $100 a month on their food cost, I mean I don't know too many programs or where you can save when you're on welfare or unemployed, where they can save something. Here they can save something, so it's a plus for them." Some 1,000 low-income residents were expected to get the free groceries today. People are frustrated by federal cuts and assistance while they struggle to get by.

Glenn retired from 21 back in December of 2020. New years Eve was his last day. Started in radio in 1971 then, in August of 87 went to the Television department and anchor the 6 &11 o’clock newscast for 10 years till November/December of 1997. He went back to reporting for the next 23 years. Carolyn left for Richmond VA for WTVR 6 as reporter. Then, went to WUSA 9 and worked for Belo Broadcasting as their reporter and Washington Correspondent from 1993-2001. Then, did freelancing at WTTG from 2005-2009. Since 2007 she currently works for Voice of America as their Washington Correspondent. Steve left broadcasting a year later and now lives in Thornville near his hometown of Glenford OH.
Where did you find this ? If you find any more from the Youngstown stations including commercials let me know. I’m currently working on a book project about broadcasting history around the Youngstown OH area.
Found it on a VHS tape. There were also some local ads and campaign messages, like "re-elect judge Thomas Norton, a true Democrat" or "Mahoning County commissioner John Palermo is capable and compassionate". All from the same news broadcast.
@@ElectronicVisionsOfThePastany more ?
No, only one recording of a newscast with ads in-between. Do you want to see them?

I don't think that this may have been from 2001, because Veronica's Closet was cancelled in 2000 so this may be from 1998
I don't remember why I have decided that it was 2001, maybe because of a football game recorded on the same tape, which I dated as occurring in 2001.
Hi👋 Why this video from 1988?🤔 I don't understand...Maybe she means that nothing changes and history repeats itself😥 (Lebanon/Israel) Good evening🌟💫
WHY This Video From 1988🇺🇸 Hi I Don’t Understand Maybe She Means That 1:19
Thank you so much for uploading this series
Maravillosa remasterización visual 👏👏
Yes
she is amazing🤩 one way ticket to the blue🔵! I like that song❤❤❤😊😊😊 and I can understand that song.
Joe Parnello standing next to frank.
Quincy passed away on Sunday, 11/03/2024. There will NEVER be another Frank or Q....
Video geeks... Earthling digital restoration operators please remaster these blurry videos!
This video was shot on 16mm or 35mm film (indicated by black spots from time to time) which means this amazing release could be restored to 1080p or even 4k. It's a shame they didn't remaster it for the aniversary of L.A. Is My Lady album. I fear that if they didn't do it now, they won't ever. Edit: the Sinatra Sessions book says it was shot on 16mm film
God blees you, Quincy. Rest in peace and thank you for your wonderfull work. You were the best" FROM BRASIL.
Wonderfull image, Thank you very much.👍
best of the best
Happy song
This was produced my former brother in law John and my sister Maile was one of the writers. My Dad did the original narration for this video but they didn’t make many copies of it. I used to have one of those copies but I never got it back when my Mom lend it out
On September 2000, I watched The Phantom Tollbooth, Animalympics, The Pagemaster, The Swan Princess3, The Prince Of Egypt and The King And I all the time on September 2000 on HBO Family just to let you know of why September 2000 is very special and freaky.
Would give anything to see this footage incorporated into an animated theatrical movie version of the animated series “KING OF THE HILL” with Middle Of The Road performing “CHIRPY CHIRPY CHEEP CHEEP” live at Sugarfoot’s Barbecue in the Texas town of Arlen where propane salesman Hank Hill lives.
Cole Porter, Quincy and Frank, maravilloso.
Bardzo lubię ten utwór to dzięki Bogdanowi Fabianskiemu i jego audycji "gielda plyt"posiadam w swoich zasobach szkoda że jego audycja to już legenda 😅

Why all the comments were removed?
I moved a bunch of videos from my other channel in an effort to re-enable monetization.
I bought the film on Betamax when it came out in ‘85… a time when I was grieving the loss of my Daddy who was a huge Frank Sinatra fan… So glad to conveniently have the film in its entirety here on YT with thanks to this channel… My Daddy’s memory lives on…
Thank you so much sir. This is a treasure for Sinatra fans. a collection of geniuses together !
