This is where I feel Scott Stricklin has failed us the most. Even after a decade of irrelevance, Florida is still a top 10 national brand. However, since Foleys departure. the UF brand has been little more than a shiny commodity the SEC uses for their own marketing purposes. While some of that has (and will) always happened, there was give and take under Foley. These days with SS who doesn't want to rock the boat, its all take. Not just this and last year, but basically since 2018, UF has had top 5 hardest schedule every year. The SEC has catered the Alabama, UGA, LSU, TAMU (and recently Tenn and Texas) with no consideration to UF. That is because UF has no advocate and no leadership at the conference level anymore. SS has ceded that to the like of Josh Brooks, Danny White, and Chris Del Conte. This, to me, is one of his largest failures and a massive impediment to success of Napier. While I have recanted my criticism and giving Billy time to cook. Scott still must go.....

We’re starting to get there. This has not been a minor touch up. It’s has been a complete overhaul. Overhaul may not even quite describe it, it’s been stripped down to the bones and completely rebuilt. Culturally it is heading in the right direction, I was scared for Billy’s job going into ucf and Tennessee, but the Tennessee loss on the road is where I knew we were going to be fine and Billy is the right guy for the job. Those guys fought their tails off when nobody gave them much of a chance heading into it. They are gritty and learned how to fight going into that one. There’s a bunch of good young players in that core and the potential is limitless. Billy had a great demeanor for the job, he doesn’t seem to get overwhelmed in the moment and knows that character matters more than a 40 time. He’s building a great culture. I’m not saying national championships every year, but he is a guy that will keep us competitive in every game. I think 10 wins and being in the playoff conversation is a fair goal heading into next year. I’m jacked about where the program is heading for the first time since the day before I heard the sad Will Grier news.

I understand the hype behind DJ but IMO his talents will be wasted in this lame offense. Billy won a few games to save his job but we are headed for more mediocrity next year. Even if he wins 7 games next year we will be stuck with this average program for the next few years and foreseeable future. Smdh…

Wilson was on his way to announce he was coming to Florida when Oregon called and upped the money at the last minute, and lsu lost 2 5 stars and pooled that money together to make thomas an offer no one else was gonna match. Money is the reason we lost those 2 players

Definitely a nice class. If I had a critique it would be that I’d like some more depth at the line of scrimmage, but I think that’s every team, at every level, all the time, no matter where you currently are. With that being said, it seems like anything top 20 is solid and really comes down to how well guys fit a scheme and I definitely think that Billy and his staff know what they’re looking for in guys. Michigan from a couple of years ago shows that you can win without the highest grades in the right situation. I personally would prefer a scrappy 3 or 4 star with a chip on their shoulder than 5 stars that may or may not know how to dig deep in the moment like Georgia or Ohio State or Clemson tend to do

Again. We didnt lose TN because of BN play calling. A fumble at the 1 and a sack before half time by Mertz is what cost us the game. Those 2 plays alone was a 10 point swing. Then 2nd half Mertz and Montrel getting hurt didnt help either.

A new OC is not the answer. A new play caller maybe. A new offensive scheme will set us back.
