    Yours have to be some of the cleanest shots I've ever seen coming out of one of these things. 18 megapixel model? I have a 16 but the washed out look of the film simulations coming out of camera are a bit overpowering for my taste.

      @@cxlia6477 Yeah it wasn't a filter. I also shoot film and so those pictures were originally taken with a film camera and when I got my scans back I printed them using the mini evo since you can print pictures from your phone. The film stock I used was fujifilm C200 :)

    • @camiellerk9240

      @@cxlia6477 No the mini evo is a digital camera that prints fujifilm instax mini film. 35mm film is for traditional film cameras. This camera can connect via bluetooth to your phone and you can use it to print pictures from your phone so you can print pictures you took on many other cameras with this camera.

    Thank you for taking time to go over your thought process and the reviews. I'm having a bit of dilemma, the Evo is sold out al over in Canada. There is however, one person I buy off this weekend and it's mint with 47 films included for much less than retail. My next best option was to get yesterday a Mini 40 and an Instax Mini Link 2 printer that was on sale. That way I can get instant, unpredictable photos and the option to print sharp images and share them on days I want to. Do you feel it's redundant and the Evo can while being able to print still has that 'character' of instax analog style? I know there are some film simulations but in a way, the photos look like something I can send to Walmart to print.. Thank you

    • @camiellerk9240
      @camiellerk9240 2 роки тому

      When it comes to the evo it is 100% personal preference whether you like the fact that essentially a digital camera is mimicking an instant camera and its not technically instant. The reason I like it is because you are getting a very similar experience as instant but you are also getting quality so I am comfortable with there being digital components. I also like it because even though you could get much higher quality images with a different camera you are able to instantly give those photos a tangible life whether for yourself or as gifts. Often times when I take that camera with me I tend to give copies of the pictures to other people. Easily one of the best perks. For you though I would go with what makes you happy and what you think you will use. After all the best camera is the one you use.

    • @camiellerk9240
      @camiellerk9240 2 роки тому

      The film I used in these videos was a combo of ektar 100, the images that were high contrast and saturation, and fujifilm c200, the images that were softer and lighter in the color grading. I do not currently digitally alter my film photos and I upload them as is.

    Oh I wanna get into Fujifilm too at some point! I use a Ricoh GR3 right now and it’s also a fantastic camera especially for its size! Though I am sure Fujifilm does film simulations better than the recipes I’ve used on the GR3, I have nevertheless become a 99,9% jpg-shooter myself too… -I very much agree with you about “cohesion” among pics shot on the same day and about what a joy it is to NOT have to do all of the post processing! Great video! Thanks for your efforts and for sharing and best of luck with the channel and the street photography!

    The thing is. The mini evo doesn’t make any sense. Insta photography is about imperfection, blurry photos, etc. That’s what makes it great. Having all in focus and being able to choose if you want to print things or not plus having dynamic range is better to buy a smaller digital camera or having a phone with you and then later print the photos on a instax printer. Had a digital Polaroid camera. Just sold it. I have now a instax mini 40 and I’m very happy with it. The logic upgrade would be a mini 90. For all my other photos I use my Sony A7 and Fujis.

    • @camiellerk9240
      @camiellerk9240 2 роки тому

      I totally understand and respect your perspective I think it just comes down to different preferences and priorities. A big reason why I enjoy the mini evo so much is I get to experience the physical photo in the moment and still get the high quality which both aspects are important to me personally. The other main reason why I love it so much is I regularly give polariods away in the moment as gifts to the people I’m hanging out with and this camera allows me to be spontaneous like that which I love.

    • @sburns834

      It does make sense. It is a hybrid camera. It's not an instant camera. It's a Instax printer and digital camera hybrid. Plus you can save on film instead of making blurry horrible pictures and wasting money. You can print whatever you want to print or save. I'm going to buy one of these soon as I will be going to the US in a few years time, will be going to universal studios, Disney World etc and this camera will be amazing for all that. I will be using my phone camera to.

    I have the same camera & sometimes when I try & shoot it doesn’t take the phot, the shutter button presses down but doesn’t shoot? what does that mean? I have to wait for a while till I can shoot again. Is it because of lighting or? Im quite new to film photography.

    • @camiellerk9240
      @camiellerk9240 2 роки тому

      Yeah every camera is different when it comes to what could be the issue but a lot of times if the shutter is buggy it’s because the film isn’t advancing correctly and is getting snagged in some way. Anytime the film isn’t advanced the shutter won’t go off. Hope that helps!

    Hey! I have a quick question for you in the back notes section you have the post-it’s in place to separate where you’re going to set up the months, How many pages do you give space for between the months? I’m always freaking out about if I pre plan out the pages what if I don’t give enough space between them and I’m trying to figure out a set method where I don’t have to worry about running into the next month section that’s set up. Thanks!

    • @camiellerk9240
      @camiellerk9240 2 роки тому

      Thats why I put the sticky notes there its a placeholder but not permanent. Therefore if I need more pages the month before or I use less pages one month I can flex and accommodate that. This way I have an idea of the number of pages I should aim for without messing myself up with forcing a certain amount of pages in case I need to adapt.
