A thousand years per second, that's 1,440,000 years. A thousand years per second means that 1,440,000 years pass in just one day. It's mind-boggling to think about the immense scale of time when considering this punishment. The thought of such a rapid passage of time is both brutal and overwhelming. That's so brutal!!!
Is that how small it is?
I watched this episode before becoming a father. Had empathy with the guy's cookie-self ended up living in that cabin for 1000000 years. I have a daughter now who is 5 yrs old and have a 2 yr old son. Just watched the episode again and actually felt happy when he got punished. The girl dying in the cold was too much for me to forgive him. Its crazy how fatherhood changes your entire mindset and even influenced me to feel differently about the ending. He was selfish for just leaving her there I can't believe how blind I was to this fact the first time..

What about it

This episode's worth a rewatch. You can see how Matt is leading Joe into a confession through his stories. As soon as he brings up the "block" feature, we see Joe contemplating for a while
How do we have a full episode on UA-cam?
Yeah, and how come this one, because there's actual multiple uploads of this full episode on youtube, but don't know why it's just this one. Not complaining though as it's my favorite
@@GemmaC-1111 1 view = 1 more year for Joe's cookie!
Might be weird licensing stuff with this one specifically, it's strange
Funny how 1 punch = a year in jail, but sh*t like that lady pulled wouldn't be punishable irl
I feel like the fact that no one talks about the first third (which is incredibly disturbing and horrific) is an incredibly strong sign as to how fantastic the rest is.
This episode and The Entire History of You always haunts me to the core. The deception is written so brutally it makes my heart hurt.
Just 4.5 million years in this cabin!😮
How brutal it is to torture the guy who accidentally killed an old men in a state of affection. I also don't get why in such a high tech society where they can even block a person in real life, a kid cannot use a phone to call police ??
She was like 5, she wouldn't have known what to do or how to reasonably call for help
First time I've ever watched Black Mirror, and this is outstanding. I'm going to have to check out some more. Thanks for the upload!
Great series, later seasons after the Netflix pick-up are a little spotty but still worth a watch
What a depressing movie
Holy shit, I can't believe this is on UA-cam for free. I'm thanking my lucky stars today! Thank you so much Wolfgang for uploading this! 😊
This is real they upload us to every reality😢
This movie is great, my friend.
19:32 "Of course I didnt watch!" The scene jumping to him watching always makes me laugh
Just a theory here. Beth probably wasn't sure if the baby was Joe's or the other guy's. That's why she left. She probably would've returned had it been Joe's. Seeing that it wasn't, she probably would've never returned to Joe, even if she got his letters.
Here’s to hoping we create these kinds of stories so that they never have to actually happen in real life.
WTF at 1:12:28 , was the guy a pedo and actually did something to his ex's daughter??? It references a sexual predator being brought to justice too, so that's the Jon Hamm character. The other one has to be Spall's character, no?
@elaine.clapham70 Ohh LMFAO my bad, it was so seamless they got me good 😭
so messed up.... 1000 years a minute.... the way they play with time was just so messed up.................
MISTAKE at 37:02 he had already taken a bite of his toast, but at 37:08 the the toast was whole again 😄😄
What if this exists. Imagine if alien technology can eye link with humans without their knowledge. If the government had that tech, imagine how secret that would be. I believe it must take vicinity though. Humans likely put out a frequency or signal
Why is nobody talking about the tech here
Because of how normalised it is. Imagine when the mobile phone first came out. It would have blown people’s minds. iPhone X: BLACK MIRROR became true!
How was that scary?
how did the first story not shake you even a little
3:44 whoosh
> Of course I didn't watch. Like I'm not watching this flick rn
Everyone's talking about the end, but no one's talking about the first story. It was chilling, the first time I felt like I was really in the shoes of the character being killed.
So still nobody wrote anything better beyond this? Slackers.
It’s like those men are ghosts wandering idly once they got blocked
Some people’s future is worse than what they wanted for others. Shame
Hát tényleg nagyon felnézek erre a fegyelmezetlen csürhére🥴

How old this episode already is? I mean, at any time we would see this kind of shady scammy sex business/or anonymous illegal industry based on a simple streaming set up happening in the real world 😱🥲🥲
LONG JAUNT, LONGER THAN YOU THINK.
The only thing that disturbed me so much about this scene is John hamm’s mouth noises eating that fucking toast
Excellent episode. Very well written, creative and terrifyingly Orwellian. The only real flaw is that Joe, believing that Beth's daughter was his, could've sued for joint custody, and when discovered that she wasn't, would be able to sue for divorce on the grounds of adultery. Joe would also be able to sue Beth's lover for loss of companionship. As to the blocking tech, since it depends on a wireless network, it should be possible to hack it and disable the block, perhaps without anyone even knowing. Matt would most likely have to relocate someplace where he could start anew, complete with a new identity. Lastly, at the end when the detective changes the time clock to 1000 yrs. per minute, knowing that after about 6 months the digital clone (a sentient being capable of independent thought, feeling and empathy) is basically video war game fodder, clearly demonstrates the innate sadistic, inhumane nature of fallen man. Imo.
What show is this
Black mirror Every episode is different than the other I really recommend you to watch it
The episode explores three stories told by Matt, John Hamm, and Joe from a remote cabin on Christmas Day. The first follows a man attempting to seduce a woman at a Christmas party while receiving remote guidance; the second sees Matt at his job training "cookies", digital clones of people; and the third shows Joe obsessed over an ex-fiancée after the relationship abruptly ends.
I did some rough math for the amount of years he was left in there. Here’s what I came up with: Assuming those detectives clocked out at 5pm, took the next day off for Christmas, then clocked back in at 8am the following day. Joe would’ve been alone for 39 real life hours. The time dilation they left him at was 1000 years per minute so 1000 x 60 x 39 would mean he spent roughly *2.3 million years* alone in that house. Jesus Christ…
You could Say a sentence worse far worse than execution
It’s wild how I just finished rewatching the show “Altered Carbon” and came back to watching this epi of Black Mirror. Either is equally terrifying if they were considered to be our future
if they could put the ai in the environment they could also make it comfortable for the ai. They would have the power to also give them a heaven-like experience in addition to doing the tasks.
16:44 she's sooo pretty 😊
1440000 YEARS he has to do if they leave it like that for a day!
Question if you are a COOKIE COPY or whatever can you atleast masturbate to make the time go by? 😅
How am I just seeing this?
