I can confidently say that this rendition is 20+ years old since I had it before I moved to the US. Could be Metallica though, it was around the time when they released S&M in '99

The melodic style of this arrangement sounds a lot more like something The Trans-Siberian Orchestra would do than Metallica
They actually played this in a giant stadium a long time ago, and it was Metallica at one side, and the world's greatest orchestra off to the other side, and if anyone can find me the recording, I'll be so grateful.
They played in 1999 with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. I couldn't find a live version though

Found this on limewire years ago...and to this day the true artist is a mystery, but it's the best version I've heard.
