Those warm air units caused a few deaths back in the day. Lovely job!

I replaced an old warm air system with a new warm air system when we moved into our current house. The new system includes hot water which the old system did not. (got rid of the old immersion heater). We decided that we liked not having pipes and radiators all over the house. It works great, so if you have an old warm air system do not simply assume you have to replace with a wet system, you have a choice. (replacement of the warm air system was cheaper than a wet system retrofit. Another choice someone might consider is skipping straight to a heat pump based air to air system (air conditioning) but that is probably as or more disruptive than shifting to a wet system.

Spraying the ooals makes them look better for a short period of time -- but a proper job is to renew the matrix + the coals , i know thy are costly but , the fire will burn hotter and the result will last longer than a few weeks !

What did you use to comply with boiler plus?

It was like curry’s, we were corgi gas’s fitters that subcontracted to fit their cookers, then they stuck their own staff on a quick course before the rules changed, quick course and they were called gas fitters. I and a few left because they were causing so many gas leaks and we were expected to sort it out and cover for them, I did 2 more years as gas safe then jacked it in as we are expected to re do our tickets but electricians wasn’t, wish I just trained as a sparky 😮😮😮😮

Like how you don't show all your work. I have a few customers who wouldn't think twice about fiddling with their boiler. When I remind them that should anything untoward happen and their property is damaged by their attempted repair, their insurance won't pay out. If you're not gas safe registered, do not attempt to repair a gas appliance.

HI --i like your video's -- but this installation is not id because of the flue not being straight + not cliped properley -- it's only id if it's leaking combustion -- yes it's a very poor job --did ideal leave any paperwork showing it was leaking combustion ? coz i bet if the boiler had been anaylised it would have shown nothing --

Sometimes, the pipe freezer is your best friend 🙂

Maybe it's ID because it failed combustion or flue above boiler not installed correctly or joint not connected properly I guess, alot off AR on that boiler

Obviously, you are very passionate about pristine installations, but please do not slag us, humble jobbers for using Pressfit. On the market where I compete against economic kamikaze doing o/s taps for £80 (with famous £20 B&Q sets), the only time when I can bend, put munsen clips and solder, is when I have the customer who will pay for that. Connex with its 25-year warranty is one of my excellent selling points.

Great start to finish, though having seen other gas engineers doing swap outs, not one ever mentions any kind of Heat Loss calculations and its seems that the industry continues to install over sized boilers which will not condensate and run at maximum efficiency using weather and load compensation, which I thought was part of the regulations that require TRV etcs?

Blocked plate - spirit of salt and a wash out dicky diverter - replace it ( maybe replaced 3 in my life on this model so probably nothing wrong with it). Trumpet noise - clean the injector or replace Sump leaking - easily replaced by anyone with half a brain Youve conned someone into a new boiler well done. Could of been repaired for 400 quid and got another ten year out of it. Shame on u

What did Ideal class as ID? Issues you showed were At Risk? Were the flue gas readings incorrect? Very Poor installation but to cap appliance I’m assuming there was more than poor pipe work and flue clips needing adjusted

It comes down to how much the customer is willing to pay to get it done , they buy a cheap boiler and expect to get it fitted for a £100 quid.. This is the result…. 👍

I stopped using viva skylo filler valves a few months ago as they tend to let by after only a couple of months , maybe it’s a design fault I’m not sure but I just stick to Dudley products now , more expensive but good quality… 👍
