In this video I start swapping all the parts onto the new engine and changing engine mounts and all the way down to the oil pan. Sadly today is the day to say goodbye to the cherry red e30. I love this car and I'm so thankful for all the good times I had with a great car. I finally welded on my new muffler! I bought a cheap muffler from a junkyard off an older Nissan Maxima next to an E30. I hope you like watching all the welding and grinding I had to do. I ran into an unexpected problem fixing an exhaust leak which led to me straight piping my car and it sounds terrible. I dive into fixing a broken shifter linkage (selector rod), an exhaust leak, and a plugged catalytic converter! Be sure to watch as much as you can because it is packed with lots of goodies! yeah! i’m wondering if it might be the solenoid for the plugs cause none of them are firing. unless all are bad but who knows 😂

dont open the throttle when trying to start ir up, just hit the starter with throttle closed and play with the choke

cranking the trottle like that when ur starting is only flooding the carb so u have to crank even more to un flood it

Without a hose hooked from the vacuum barb on the back of the petcock to carb #2, you won't get any fuel outside of the prime position. If you're getting overflow, one of your float needles could be stuck, or have a pinhole in it. Also make sure to check the points as well. Cruddy points make weak spark. Always exciting to see someone get their project fired up for the first time. A rusty tank will be a constant issue until you can address it thoroughly. I had luck with my old CM400 by removing the tank, filling it with a water/sand solution, and shaking the living hell out of it for a good hour while watching youtube videos, then heating it in an oven (paint was already stripped). POR-15 gas tank treatment might be a better solution though. Good opportunity to do it before painting the tank. I hope this project goes well for you, and you get many many miles out of it.

Definitely only use oem parts in the carbs. Don't be surprised if 4 new needle and seats cost u almost as uch as the bike itself!

@MarstonC7 I tried cheap needle and seats in my RGV250, but they never sealed properly. Suzuki oem were $50.00 aus each, but they work. Remember with your needles and jets, if they don't work correctly then your mixture could be lean and seize your engine at WOT.

Stock DME from the E39? EWS disabled and/or tuned?
It is the stock DME from the donor car and I had a guy near me tune out the EWS and I think I tried putting launch control and a rev limiter at 7k. But I haven't been able to test it out yet haha.

It actually wasn't too bad! There were a ton of parts that needed to be swapped or modified because the motor was from a 5 series but other than that it wasn't super complicated!
