I have a light higher pitch whine in the front right of the cabin coming from a fan. I'm trying to figure out what needs to be replaced. Is this the only fan/motor in the front for the cabin? Thanks for the video.
Can you pair any TPMS to this device, not just the ones that come with it?
@BenKlassen1 I am not sure. You might want to contact the manufacturer.
DeeLife is the Chinese brand that can be found also under the name of DeeWaz in the US . one of the common non-reviewed problems: serviceability ! 1. main display console has no screws! these generic TPMS systems have a display battery. They all use some LiPo battery (which can be charged via solar panel or a USB cable). if you can't replace that battery: it will die after couple of years under hot sun and then you are doomed (no matter what condition your wheel sensors ). 2. non standard USB cables. you loose that cable you are doomed . 3. the provided sensors lithium batteries are not generic (not CR2032 or CR2016 or a like) or not replacable (common in internal sensors). 4. can not order spare sensor 5. can not swap two tires on the main display if your TPMS ticked one of the above items : buy the next device in line. remember: it doesn't really matter if its +-2 psi accurate or not. BTW: can you show how to replace main battery ? The most common complain about this DeeLife (DeeWaz) Solar TPMS is that the solar panels fails after 4-5 weeks of heavy sun. so many of these find their way to 3rd party wholesale web sites. They can only be charged via usb afterwards.
We should get you an EcoFlow Delta 3 plus and/or a Delta 2 since they'll be on sale pretty cheaply now
Maybe someday! Would be nice to more power. The 600Whr. OUKITEL is good for ~12-15hrs. of power at camp for a fridge and a small house fan that I now use when sleeping. After driving 4-6 hours the next day, I am back up from ~30% to a full charge with the inverter setup. If camping for more than one day in a single spot, a bigger portable battery station and/or solar assist would be needed. Thanks for your comment @rcguymike
I’m confused. Why does the manual say arrow should be pointing up and the plastic door clip has the arrow pointing up?
@misterscruffle Air flow is pulled down through the filter (sucked). This is why the leaves/debris are found on top of the filter so they do not get into the squirrel cage of the blower motor (So arrow is down for the filter.) The plastic cover has an arrow up to indicate how it is oriented to snap into place (not direction of air flow). Hope this helps!
Hi: What is the max distance between display and Rear wheel axle and what is the max press.Asking for my camper.
I believe it is 19.6ft. The description on Amazon states that these products are not designed for camper trailers.
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics The descriptor on Amazon i found .The distance is max 19.6ft. and the press imax is 0~8 BAR / 0~116 PSI-banden. So i think my camper has 5 bar tyres and is 5.50 meter between de axles it must by good
AliExpress 30$
Nice set up! So what do you do for a spare tire?
I have a stock spare full size 30.5" tire/rim underneath the rear. A 33" tire would not fit unless maybe you would deflate the tire a little. My thought is to use the spare only in an emergency to get off the trail and to a service station. I would run it in the rear and keep 33" tires on the front to limp out of trouble. I also keep a tire puncture kit which I used recently to patch a hole from a screw in the driveway.🙂 Thanks for the comment!
Awesome!
Thanks @wallybigwheels8993

I have a hatchback suv, so I think I would like this or a swing away basket
Yeap, you got to move the basket out of the way, otherwise you'll hit it 😂
Not a big brainer.
Have you ever been pulled over when that basket is fully loaded and blocking your License plate?
That’s a very cool design, sir! A bit on the niche side of things, but if I had that vehicle, I’d buy one!
Should bought a bigger vehicle.
Very specific problem to have, but thank you
Great work! I was thinking about something similar for a tire carrier...
Thank you. I enjoyed the presentation.
Glad you enjoyed it!
5:35 pm This gentleman has done great job on how to replace inside fan.
Thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated.
Nice! In the market for a GX460 and this is one of the reasons I want one for the family. Cheers brother Ps might wait to pull the trigger until the new models come out and the market gets flooded with 4Runners and GXs
Thanks for the comment. Good luck with the search!!
Before you guy buy a motor...pull the existing one off. I as well replaced my filter and in doing so a leaf must have dropped down between the fan and the housing and made the death sound. But following, the instruction here as soon as i popped the sucker out (and yes that front screw is a bear) and dropped it down, one pesky leaf fell out. I started the blower with the fan on the floorboards and the sound and leaf were gone. I bet that happens a lot. Back to a quiet Lexus. Thanks for this video.
2:53 Who state the price but not say the price.
Check out 14:50 on ua-cam.com/video/G12zF12UnB0/v-deo.html (I did get mine on sale 25% off).
Awesome video. Thank you. Did you ever take apart the original to see if there was debris in there causing the sound?
The ticking noise was a small stick that made its way into the blower fan. I did not determine the cause of the slight whistling noise - assumed it might just be a worn out bearing. Thanks for the question and comment!
I have a 2020 4Runner off road and have the 1” KSPs. I’m finding that the bolts don’t go out far enough. The nuts seem to not go deep enough and grab all the threads. I would think they would at least be flush. I’ve looked around and saw photos with the same issue. My spider trax 1.25” spacer did provide enough. Not sure if this is a concern. The bolts don’t grab about 1 thread. Should I be concerned?
Yes, I would be concerned too if the bolts (studs) did not allow the wheel nuts to thread all the way on. You can replace the studs with longer ones if you want to use the KSPs. I used the stock studs on my GX460 and they worked fine with the KSPs on the front. My stock rear studs were actually too long for the 1" KSPs. Instead of replacing the studs or cutting them down in the rear, I opted to just use the 1" wheel spacers only in the front. Here is a video that I found on how to swap out the wheel studs: ua-cam.com/video/IRYDIx6XfwQ/v-deo.html
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics thank you so much for your response and info. Yeah I’m thinking I will have to do the body mount chop to stop the rubbing. Would it be too much trouble for me to send you a photo (via email) of how my spacer looks on and tell me if you think the nut is grabbing enough thread ? Thanks
@@LuisA-fc3ox I think you should take it to a local mechanic for a consult. I am not a certified mechanic and would not wish to take any liability on this one :) - good luck!
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics thanks.
That pure gold
Do you see any issues with a 17x8 rim with a +55 offset on a gx470?
Not sure - I do not have experience with the 470. What is the stock rim offset? What size tires are you going to run?
Beautiful tree
Thank you! Cheers!
You still have those KSP wheel spacers on? How are they holding up? Recommend?
Yes, I am still running the KSP wheel spacers in the front. Recommend them!
IS IT TUNE?
TUNE?
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics OTT tune
@@JuanManuel-fm9jt No, I did not do a special tune (Overland Torque Tune) on my GX460. In fact, I had never heard of it until your comment.
Hi John. Thanks for making this video. I bought a 2011 GX this last summer and had to replace all the skidplates because of rot. Thankfully that was the only really bad part. Not cheap at about $400 for parts, but since the GX is no longer in Illlinois, the new parts should last a lot longer. I’ll recommend the Surface Shield product for corrosion resistance.
What skid plates did you go with? I assume Surface Shield is a spray?
I put them on my GX470 3yrs ago and love them. Ride is not bad even with 35” MT mud tires.
How would you compare to the stock. My front right shock just snapped on me earlier. This setup seams to fit my application but just need more information on how they really perform.
New Sub! what max tire size would you recommend without using spacers? Thanks
I would opt for 31" tires max on the stock rims to keep it simple. You should have good clearance and if I were doing this from the beginning - this is the way I would have gone. After market rims like what I have (came with the truck when I bought it along with 33" tires) sometimes have a different offset which may necessitate wheels spacers. if you go with 33" tires even on stock rims, it will require making modifications - removing or bending plastic in the fender liner if you do not want it to rub at all and/or plan to go off road. In some cases, a body mount chop may be required which I was able to avoid with my setup.
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics Thank You! I'm looking to do max tires without cutting metal, i'll cut plastics all day and remove running boards,, I'm thinking 265/70-17
@@danielgeheller Sounds like a good plan! 265/70-17 tires equate to 31.6" Dia tiresize.com/comparison/
How do you replace the batteries on these?
@redbridge889 See the 2nd photo in this Amazon link: www.amazon.com/DEEWAZ-Pressure-Monitoring-Magnetic-Backlight/dp/B09NVSZBY7
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics lol pure nonsense...like the video, you did not go through each step 100%...that is the minimum.
@@ASDasdSDsadASD-nc7lf Sorry that you were disappointed. Feel free to create another video on UA-cam that is up to your standards.
I added video links in the description from Kai's channel (Tinkerer's Adventure) that folks considering Ironman Foam Cell Pros (FCPs) may want to view. Depending our your application, FCPs may work for you or you may want to go with another brand/design as suggested by some folks here in the comments. Kai presents the most well done, technical discussion of monotube and twin tube shock designs that I have found (great videos): ua-cam.com/video/G12zF12UnB0/v-deo.html&pp=ygUedGlua2VyZXIncyBhZHZlbnR1cmUgZm9hbSBjZWxs ua-cam.com/video/fSMWw6PQVRM/v-deo.htmlsi=gpwNLEIhZIJVeS1G
For the price there decent but dobinsons ims or mrr system is way better and more reliable for a little more. Loved my ironman bumper but wouldnt buy there suspension. If you havent upgraded bumpstops grab some durobumps for the front and timbren offroad bumpstops for the rear.
I looked at the Dobinsons IMS as well as The Bilstein 6112. Check this video out and make your own decision: ua-cam.com/video/G12zF12UnB0/v-deo.html (Timestamp 14:50). I don't think you could go wrong with any of these three!
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics I've ridden in trucks with all 3 and ims winds hands down on performance. they ride almost as good as my king 2.5s i have on my jeep. its not always specs the tune is crucial.
@@DeadOnTrail I appreciate your comments! Thanks.
2.5 years with my FCP setup for my 4Runner. Less body roll and less nose dive after the install. I would recommend getting some UCA and finish the entire suspension lift with rear spring upgrade and swaybar adjusters.
Thanks! Yes, the Ironman UCAs are on my list. Thanks for the other suggestions too.
Great work!
A set of 130 watt bulbs works amazing in those Hella 500’s no they won’t melt. Yes you need upgraded wiring
Thanks for the input. Think i will stay with the stock. I did add some ditch lights to the GX, however!
The OEM are 55W, that is over 2X the current draw! What gauge wire?
Love the intro!
What is the shocking news? ...his car break down?
Oh my word!
Makes no sense about the lugs doing the centering, if it’s hubcentric, then it should be hubcentric not Lug centric.
The spacers are hub centric (centered via hub). The wheels are centered via the lugs (centered by the lugs). My wheels are not stock, they had a 2mm wider diameter than the spacer lip. I ended up adding some 2mm aluminum hub rings to my wheels. Check this link for details on hub vs lug centric definitions: www.discounttire.com/learn/hub-centric-vs-lug-centric
OK, so that makes more sense then. The wheels you bought have a larger centerbore, and therefore only get centered by the lugs. still, the spacer is hubcentric just not for your particular application.
Nice work!
Hi John, do you hear just the air running with the replacement or do you hear the motor as well?
I think I only hear the air, but I am out-of-town at the moment and can't go test until I get back in a couple weeks.
@@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics No worries! My motor was making a noise and I replaced it with a 4seasons model that made noise. Ordered the one you linked and all is fine now.
