WOW Kara! What a fantastic job showcasing the packaging, the goodies, and the book! Thank you so much for putting me first! I am honored. I really liked that you broke down how you felt about the book and you were really thorough. It is a massive undertaking, it took me a month to read but it is WORTH IT! It does take a while for the action to escalate, he makes you wait for the big stuff. Sidenote: OMG I hated him sooo much too!!!!!! It's such a complex and vivid story landscape, anyone that asked me why it's so good, I'm like ummmmmmm LOL. There is sooooo much things happening! Elena was the only reason I stayed the first 50 pages lol I'm glad you gave it a shot and branched out from your comfort zone! I literally cheered for you at the end!! It was ALOT! Was on a wee getaway this past week and saw a signed, first edition of Chain Gang All-Stars that I was so close to getting! But I'm worried it will be one of those books that I need to be in a specific mood for and I don't know if that mood is coming around soon. I think I made the right decision based on your review. If I'm gonna get a book that I'm going to cherish then I think I'd rather it be a book I have the potential to really really love. Will read Chain Gang All Stars eventually for sure but maybe giving it a little more time. Love your vid as always Kara 💚

I actually loved People We Meet On Vacation. It is my 2nd fave Emily Henry. First, is Happy Place!!! All of her books were 4 or 5 stars for me. 😉 Enjoy

Lots of really interesting books here! I loved listening to Tom Lake!! And I’m reading Chain Gang All Stars right now and kind of agree with you, it’s not an easy reading experience but really amazingly written and eye opening for sure.

I read Fourth Wing last weekend and I was shocked at the writing more than anything, it just seemed so bad imo … The story was so interesting, but I gave up on the characters 🤣

Ummm your Fourth Wing review had me cackling it was so spot on! The amount of name dropping in Fourth Wing and Iron Flame is bananas, I ended up just accepting I wasn't going to be able to keep track 🙃 Team "Here for the Dragons". Will probably pick up the third book when it comes out but I'm glad to have this break right now. Also, I can't lie, I had to look up what a graphic audio book was and I can't believe I didn't know before 😅I'm about to binge a ton more books via my headphones lol As someone who grew up next door to an apple orchard in Michigan and was actively involved in theatre and also spent most of the pandemic there, I think it's a new obligation of mine to read Tom Lake. I love that you just have a single classic to tackle during the year! I always feel so behind with classics because they take me ages to read and having a "Classic of the year" really helps take the pressure off of reading them and gives a whole year to read through it at whatever pace is comfortable. I hope you enjoy the Humans by Matt Haig! I love love loved The Midnight Library and want to read more by him. Your list is amazing! Welcome to Booktube, Kara!! And I stand with you: Circe is an excellent book! As for balancing reading and content creation: it gets easier/faster the more you do it and also, audiobooks are king for me. They allow me to read even when I'm not reading. Find a schedule that is realistic for you, so you can be consistent without burning out. There is no fixed law that says you need to post X videos every week. Just try to have fun I guess :D

Congrats on reading 100 books this year!!! I think it's a great idea to keep the goal for next year at 100, that way if you find yourself getting close to reaching that earlier than you expected you can push the number higher! But it also lets you take it easier on a goal you know you can reach and that way it won't be a competition as much as it is just an indicator of how much you love reading or loved the books you were reading 😊😊 I'm also going to be trying to read more books on my physical TBR this year. I've got too many books that have been sitting in the wings for a long time 😅Really excited about all of your upcoming videos Kara!

Keeping a biweekly schedule has helped me a lot because I found when I was posting once a week it was hard to stay on track and keep up with my life. When I missed a week, I would feel really bad and just stop posting for long periods of time. So basically... don't feel bad if you need to slow down how often you're posting! These sound like great goals! I always get distracted by my phone. I really need to re-build my reading habit in the next year. I used to be able to read 50 books a year. This year I've read about 12, and last year I read 13 or 14. But also I used to read on my commute, and now I don't have a commute, so that makes things a bit more difficult. Lol.
