Should you run a Smittybilt or a Warn winch? Join me as I discuss pros and cons and install a new Warn VR Evo 12s.
My New 300 PRC Precision Build
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
Join me on the Goodsht Podcast for this episode where I cover my new 300 PRC precision long range build.
So surprised you didn't edit out the electrical light show (LMAO done the same on many occasions) have a smittybuilt wanna upgrade don't like harbor freight probably look at tractor supply offerings before dump the bucks on either Warn or Mile Marker brand
All Evo winches made in China lol both are
So how did this winch hold up for you? Thinking of putting one on my daily driver/weekend warrior 4Runner as a "just in case" type thing.
Apparently McMillan calls it a U-10 now 🤦🏻♂️
That barrel looks like pretty short. Turn that prc into your 308 😂
Update?
By the title I would have assumed this was a comparison of Smittybilt vs Warn, but I guess I was wrong
No it’s just all 99% clickbait advertisements and sponsored free product placements 😢
when working on the electricle, disconnect the ground first. then it dosn't matter if you short out the positive! And reconnect the ground last, with out ground your wrenches will stay shiny, longer
How long is your barrel
What camo does McMillan call that? Looks sweet.
Where is the VS part of the video?
This has inspired my next rifle lol, any chance we can get an update video on this? Also what barrel length did you go with on the 300prc?
Nvmd on length I saw your comment below, but I'd still love to see an update on this setup and how it worked for you.
I have a Warn evo winch in my Japanese built 4Runner to carry my Polish ass around while carrying my Austrian pistol wearing my Swiss, Italian, or Japanese watch. All the while navigating by my Chinese made iPad so I can better use libtardian Google maps. Sometimes wearing my shitard Carhartt made in Mexico attire which I say I'll never buy again because of their anti- American vax BS. But seeing how I rarely even need my winch because I have to drive 2 freaking days to get anywhere decent from my libtard governed city in the great state of Texas I try not to get stuck. But If I had to do it all over again. I'd get the same eco 10s that's been nothing but great. The very few times I've used it. By the way. This is all being said on my Chinese apple computer. What are y'all typing on?
If I had your budget I'd get the Zeon not the EVO 😂
Just so everyone know.. the warn vr evo 10s don't fit the 85-88 toyota trailgear bumper ...
Both Smittybilt and the Warn VRs are Chinese made winches.
What action length is the 300 prc is it a normal long action or is it a magnum action?
Long action
Total weight on that stock?
Good install video , other then the crack at a winch that has worked well for you , but seriously how much cash do you have in the Jeep ? Just a mall crawler or wheel often and hard? If it is not a mall crawler there is no excuse for putting a budget winch on that thing. You replaced a ok made in China winch with a nominally better made in China winch , makes no sense. Now on my 91 Ranger that I have 10 k into in 13 years ( about a million bucks in my labor) putting a $800 canuck buck winch on to use 5-10 times a year makes sense , my rig costs less than your shocks . And yes, I have replaced my 100% reliable Smittybilt XCR 10 ( failed due to overloading warping the bumper baseplate) with a Warn VR EVO 10 which is waiting for bumper replacement to install.
Bad mouthing Smittybilt, (even jokingly), then claiming Warn is an upgrade (which I agree with), but opting for the standard duty Warn? Prolly should've sprung for the Cadillac model rather than the sub-modelVR Evo, imo. Why not the Zeon?
upgraded from made in china to.... still made in china, stop supporting the commies lol
Vortex AMG
Awfully short barrel for the 300 prc.
I using a simitibilty so far so good it's cheap than warn and Relibil
Is build complete yet? What was your end weight before optic if you don’t mind my asking…
I just bought the Warn VR EVO 10S winch. Installing this weekend! Batteries make me nervous!
Where in Montana? I just got my 300 prc out to 2100 yards.
Always nice to get out 👍
Good video fellas
I hope your channel takes off. Not sure if the "shocking" part was planned but, usually once is enough to learn your lesson.
Not planned, was just lucky enough to do it on camera, twice! Never good to be in a hurry. And thank you 🙏🏻
I don’t understand the obsession with wanting to hit an animal past 500 yds. Or even 300. Is it really ethical past 500? It’s not target shooting. Cool rig though.
When you can accurately place a shot with adequate knockdown power for a given animal out to these longer distances should the opportunity present itself, it is completely ethical, IMO of course. As far as the obsession goes, that’s harder to explain without experiencing it yourself. It’s a skill set I love being able to utilize.
Dude, some of these guys are shooting a sub-minute out at 1100 yards. If your consistent like that, 800 yards = 8 inch group or less, which is conceivable and I would argue it's no more or less ethical than shooting an animal at 80 yards with a bow. Personally, I am not that good and wouldn't shoot past 400 rifle hunting or 40 yards with a bow. What is ethical is often subjective.
It's not an obsession - it's an opportunity if you've properly prepared for it.
@@thebleeb1681 fair enough.
How longs your barrel?
20” so I’m running hand loaded 190gr bullets for velocity’s sake.
