What an absolute gem. Why did we not hear more of this excellent series. The production values were exceptional . I hope our appreciation reaches the entire crew who,worked on this perfect drama.

What a pity the sound is soo bad!

I just discovered these uploads. I enjoy them, yet I often multitask when videos play. This habit is especially hard when trying to follow this series because too many of the men sound exactly the same. I therefore wonder if these upload’s speeds and coloring altered. The voices seem slurred and the coloring is a bit too unnaturally dark. I will now search for this unfamiliar series. They remind me of the classic short but very classy Belgium investigator!🕵🏽…😉!

'Arthur And George' (1995) or (2015)?.***** Oh dear!!! Time has caught up with Martin in this movie, as it does with all of us. (Hope he's okay, he looks a little haggerd and worn out... which has carried over into 2024). This film was intense, it kept me on the edge of my chair & Martin Clunes did this movie proud. Wasn't aware that Conan Doyle had so much controversy around him, I wouldn't have blamed him if in the end he had no patience for anyone except his wife & his closest circle of friends. Martin Clunes 4Ever, very good actor with many good movies through the years. ♡☆

Well done! Damn good acting too. Confused about the dark lighting though.

I love movies like this; period English whodunnits and Sherlock Holmes. They come out with these great serials and then abandon them after only a season or less. I can't imagine that between all of the English speaking countries there isn't enough support to keep them going. 😢

Couldn't even make it to 2 minutes. Dialogue is completely unintelligible. Sounds like they're all talking with their mouths stuffed full of cotton.

So many things in the world I dislike at present but this is decidedly not one of them. This makes me proud to be British. What outstanding, quality acting. I was literally transported into the story. I shall be very disappointed if this does not go down in history as 'A Classic'.

I have never heard of this before watching this. I found it a stellar storyline and , the cast was amazing, acting Devine, and set and costumes top notch. I personally enjoyed it.

More like Arthur and Woody. It wld have been better if each episode was a diff story, from beg. to end. This one plot goes on and on. Only Martin C. keeps it going

God forbid you didnt have money or had a famous writer backing you in those days, like Shaw or Dickins, especially in a small town, with the local police. And lf you were foreign, you were doomed. No wonder they stopped the death penalty. Too many innocents hung. But now, Englands pendulum swung too far left and even serial rapists n murderers are out in 12 yrs. Smh

America was also guilty early on of using so called "self-proclaimed-specialists... hence many later released because not guilty or not really proven by today's standard... articles indicted the notably many are really a small exception... but I've known several I absolutely knew were innocent & Vice President Harris prosecuted many for possession of Marijuana.

For those who don't know M.T. Martin Clunes: Only recently discovered him; was looking for Arthur & George last Oct. (Thanks). I finally learned I hadn't recognized him because he changed so: He was in various series & Movies including: Rising Damp, Men Behaving Badly, two Doc Martin Movies (I only successfully found one: Dr. Martin & the Clothie... and the Doc Martin series, especially important because of increased awareness... autism spectrum & savants. He's an avid Horseman & Dog Fancier... The reason they put dogs in his series--his were often caught on film, but his weren't used professionally. Reminds of He's involved in various charities including Parkinson, animals, etc.

Refer to an example of Fawlty Tower's: The Colonel's version of what "WE CALLED" dark skinned from India... vs. West Indies. Agatha Christy didn't understand why some of her titles had to be changed for various markets, especially America's. For example, refer to original title of Christy's Ten Little Indians. (Film: "And Then There Were None".) To her credit, years later she came to understand, and was apologetic.

So, Darth Vader occupied everyone in this series. 😂
