    So I bought 6 denso tt plugs from Rockauto for my GMC Sierra and picked up the other two from AutoZone. I installed them and started having random misfires on the 6 cylinders with the "denso" plugs from Rock Auto and the two cylinders with the plugs from AutoZone were fine. I pulled all the plugs and put my old AC Delco iridium's back in and zero misfires again. I will be contacting Rock Auto over this crap. I have pictures and videos of the 6 cylinders randomly misfiring as well as a video of zero misfires with old Delco plugs reinstalled. I gathered data with my bi directional scan tool and my HP Tuners software.

    So what I gather from this is if you have a compressor that failed due to no oil, drain all of the oil from the new compressor so it fails too. that's why denso is still in business. I'm going to error on the side of caution & just install my compressor with a full charge of oil.

    • @neil121886
      @neil121886 Місяць тому

      If your old compressor failed from no oil you would have to flush the whole system which means you would have no oil remaining in the system anyways. So in that case yes you would install with the full amount of oil in the compressor

    Some Ting Wong with this advice. On my 05 Ford Escape the Ford spec is for 7oz. of PAG46. I replaced the accumulator (held almost 3oz. when old one was drained), condenser, and flushed the system . I installed a new Denso 471-8135 compressor, which their Denso spec sheet claims it came from the factory with 1.5oz. of PAG 46. This video is saying the 1.5oz. already in the new compressor is all my new system needs. That would leave me 5.5oz. short. Any warranty claims aside, that advice would cook my new compressor in short order.

      Oh yeah, sure. I've been using Denso products for years and have never had issues with them. Toyota, Honda, and several other automakers use parts directly from Denso. If your Denso compressor broke after 15 days, it's because it was installed incorrectly or there were some other factors.

    There was only 30 ml of oil in my old compressor. The new DENSO compressor comes prefilled with 7.4 oz. Is it possible that the rest of the oil is still in the other AC system components? That seems like a lot of oil. Shouldn't most of the oil be in the compressor?

    • @genericusername1365
      @genericusername1365 10 днів тому

      @@cowsgoloka I replaced my compressor at 185K miles. I now have 443K miles and I haven't done anything to the AC for the last 258K miles. It's the same oil that's been in there since then and it works fine. If you do the job correctly, then the oil will last a long time. I installed a Denso compressor, replaced the drier desiccant, pulled a vacuum for 1.5 hours, then properly installed the refrigerant without any outside air entering in the system. If you do it correctly, it will last a long time.

    Picked up a DENSO compressor for my 2006 Honda Civic Sedan along with what I understand to be the most common components to do a replacement (new condenser, drier, and expansion valve) and insure that I'm not cycling any old junk in the lines through the new compressor. Will be getting the system evacuated of all coolant and oil before replacing these components. The only thing I'm not replacing is the evaporator, which is a major pain to get out and replace. Am I understanding correctly that with the system evacuated and these 4 new components, oil balancing will not be needed? e.g., New compressor, condenser, drier, and expansion valve means the oil in the compressor is adequate for the system? Or will I be off and need balancing due to the evaporator not being replaced? 🤔 Thanks!

    • @innocentbystander6
      @innocentbystander6 Рік тому

      The NEW compressor may come with more or less oil than what your system calls for. It's best not to guess and flush everything that is not being replaced to remove all the old oil and contaminants. Look up your car's AC system oil requirement and make sure you put only that much in your new compressor.

    • @mutatioveritas4559
      @mutatioveritas4559 Рік тому

      @@innocentbystander6 Thanks for the reply! It's interesting because the compressor I got came with a tag that says, "Oil balancing is NOT needed when installing compressor on the vehicle A/C system." Tracking down the Honda repair manual, it notes, "Since the oil separator is equipped inside the compressor for this vehicle, oil drainage is unnecessary at the time of compressor replacement." Does that change things at all? 🤔
