Dear Sir i am your subscriber Sir please make a vedio how to import Nomads sculpt to prisma3d please 🥺🥺🥺
Thanks for the tutorial! Is there any way to make this pattern "follow" a complex shape? E.g. making it "fit" around a chest piece of a model, or cover it's head
So the short answer is...sort of. I am currently producing a video about this very subject. I have figured out a way to use uv maps, face groups, and a layer to project a seamless mask onto an object of any shape and create real texture that can be sculpted. It sounds complicated, but it is quite easy to do. In the case of this video with a pattern of objects, I do not know how to wrap them smoothly following complicated shapes. It is possible to create a bump map or uv texture from your pattern if you wish. Stay tuned my new video will be out shortly.
@@Original-Werkswow, sounds awesome, looking to your new video, and thanks a lot for amazing tutorials 😊
how do you have 15.9gb?? mines only have 1.3gb
I was using the default sphere in this case. You can always go into the multi-resolution tab and increase your topology if you like. Hope this answers your question.
Great tutorial!!
Thank you! I have several more videos coming out soon.
Thank you for this video!!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great video!! Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful! I have lots more videos in the works.
hey, go you happen to know how to add a texture seamless to an object like crochet knitting or so. If i do it with a brush i can see the connections to each other, which doesent look nice for 3d printing
That is custom brush territory. If you have made them before, clone your clay brush and create an alpha with your shape. (Sounds like you already have one.) I would rename it something like clay roller. You can use the dot stroke style, but increase your stroke spacing to suit your pattern. While you are in there change your snap radius to about half of your texture size, this will allow you to start your new stroke of texture lined up perfectly with the last, look for the red dot at the end of your stroke and start from there. Pressure, adjust to maybe the full preset, this will keep your texture consistent. Hope this helps, easier to do a video on this, I just might tomorrow. Have fun sculpting!
Thank you so much for the video! So helpful
You're welcome! Have fun sculpting.
Awesome. I've just been struggling with trying to get rid of the jagged edges with the trim tool😅
Yes, it can be tough! I find the project tool really helps to clean up the edges, and it is faster than trim in some cases.
@Original-Werks yeah since watching this vid I've been messing with it and it's so much easier. Shared this vid with all my nomad sculpt buddies. Thank you!
You are very welcome. Thank you for sharing my video, that really helps me out!
Is it worth to get the thermal bottle band to?
That is completely your call. I didn't, simply because I like to warm my printer in an enclosure with a small space heater. I keep my resin in my house, this way it is already warm. It really depends on your situation and how you store your resin.
How do you only have 2k subscribers? This is the best Nomad Sculpt tutorial by 1000 miles. It’s the best drawing a face tutorial I have ever seen, in 54 years of trying to perfect it. Your gentle voice is also very good at calming me, you’re the Bob Ross of Nomad! Thank you so, so much for this, I can’t wait to follow along this afternoon when I will watch all over again. Subscribed and bell ticked, which is very rare for me! 😊
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate your kind comment, I do have several videos in the works coming out soon.
Hi how would you shape it into a wave like 360 wave on black men?
I would use the move tool probably, set to a large size and just bump the spiral into place.
0.100, is this in milimeters? or what are the units ? and the interface of nomad looks totally different on every video i have watched. every button and functions jumps around like crazy for every upgrade :(
I know the interface changes fairly regularly. I also have my panels in custom places, that may not help either. This video is quite old by Nomad Sculpt versions too. As for the dimensions, it is sort of in mm. The actual scale is not in any documentation, but if you import or export anything in mm, the scale matches. If you have any doubt, you can import a shape from Tinkercad or a set calibration cube from Thingiverse (20mm calibration cube for 3D printing would work) and compare size to your object scale.
Is there a way to continue a face group after lifting the pencil ending the stroke?
As far as I know not yet, I hope that comes into being soon.
So, I just checked again. There is an easy way to do this now. Click on Face Group, click on Patch, and then all you need to do now is click on the color that you want to paint on for a face group. Super easy to switch colors at will now. Between the ability to swap colors as needed and using the relax tool, the groups are about unlimited now. Enjoy!
or just use a cylinder with lower topology ?
That is true. Nomad sculpt has so many ways to do the same thing. This program is constantly evolving as well, so some of my older videos can be outdated for techniques.
That's super helpful. Thank you 🙏❤
You're so welcome! This technique can really help to keep edges sharp. Have fun sculpting!
so basically, it is a mask that is kinda saved and can be recalled at any time. So you dont have to mask certain parts of the sculpt again and again. Just from a newbie perspective
Yes, that is correct. When sculpting faces or any really detailed object this can really be useful.
It's day 4 on my Nomad journey and this video helped me a lot. Thanks for showing.
Happy to hear my video helped. Enjoy, Nomad is a lot of fun to use!
The close ups are out of focus, so we cant see the quality, they are big items, whats it like at printing figures 1 inch tall, for scale modelling, you didnt show calibration, printing their R_E_R_F file, essential for establishing the settings for best print. sorry seen what you did elsewhere , lacking the essentials mentioned. When you get one you find out there is loads you need to know about that all these vids skip over. It is vital users do the R_E_R_F file test and not necessarily using AnyCubic file, better calib files out there,. and 6K doesnt come with one, why ? get one from AnyCubic. Please show such for any calib file, just rename it to the AnyCubic file name !
What length of VATband did you get for that size of vat? 34 inch one is like 3x more expensive compared to 20 inch, and they claim that you don't need to cover the whole vat with a band for it to heat resin properly, since your plate lowering for each layer essentially mixes the resin. I have a mono x2, and total perimeter of vat is around 80cm if my 5th grade math is right.
I believe mine is the 20". I found that you do not need to heat the entire vat perimeter. The vat band will warm the metal and as you start to print the plate mixes the resin around pretty uniformly. The UV light also warms the resin a small amount as well. Hope this helps.
@@Original-Werks Thanks! I ended up going with a brew belt for now. If that doesn't prove to be enough i'll buy a small vatband
I guess I gotta buy quad remesh and pose 3D.... Lol great video and these guys should sponsor you because you're making them money
They both work very well with Nomad to make creating quicker and faster base mesh models. I also have another very good app that works extremely well for hard surface and complex curve modeling. Stay tuned. And thank you for the thoughts about sponsorship, that would be great!
How do you do the solo thing
At the bottom of your app there will be an icon that says SOLO. If it is not there go to the top menu bar and click on the three sliders for the interface. It is the one in between the gear and Nomad icon in the corner. Then click on INTERFACE, and you can add SOLO to the shortcuts bar. Hope this answers your question.
Brewers belt is way better. And easier.
It was another option I considered. I chose the vat band since it had an adjustable power regulator included.
Hi! I’m completely new to nomad sculpt. But I made a few small things with rhino and blender…. Is there a way to import a picture as a plane? I want to use my reference while it behaves like an object, so I can zoom in on the reference 😅 I hope you understand what I’m looking for 😊
Yes it is possible, though not like some other apps. I will make this video next, thank you for pointing out that I had not made this one yet. I have a photo "brush" that I use just for this purpose, I thought I had made a dedicated video about it already. I think that I have covered its use in a different video. Stay tuned, I will get this out quickly!
@@Original-Werks thank you for replying! I made my own work around by creating a thin plane and using my reference as a texture 😉 but I'm looking forward to see your way nevertheless.
Any way to make it taper so that its narrow at the bottom?
Yes, in the tube tool menu. Click on RADIUS until you have two peach colored indicators for the top and bottom radius. Then click and drag the peach handles to taper the coil. The only issue is that the entire coil will taper in diameter the whole length. You can offset this by adding more dots if you click the RADIUS to get three indicators, then you can add more handles to adjust the taper and radius. Hope this answers your question.
Wow!!
Thank You!
Is it possible to import a sculpt from nomad into this pose tool 3d pro and rig/pose it?
Unfortunately no, Pose Tool only has a feature to load poses, not files from another program that could then be posed
New follower
ThankYou!
Such a cool witches broom! Getting ready for spooky season!
Yes, it is time.
Thank you! I’m about to start a project just like this and your video is incredibly helpful.
Glad it was helpful! Have fun with your project.
If it's worth it to you, Magic Poser does all of this much better for a monthly subscription (about $15). The models are easier to control, there's different body types and a large range of preset poses. It's a free app but the subscription allows you to export .obj files.
Yes, I did try out the free version of that app. I did like the better controls and better range of body types. I will probably go for the master subscription later so that I can download more body types. But I figured most subscribers to my channel might not be into nearly a $200 fee per year to pose figures. They also had some scathing reviews of their policies once they went to a subscription model taking away models and props that people had already paid for. So I really did not want to recommend them after reading about that.
Awesome!!! I snatched it up quick!!!!! It was a bit difficult to understand you, over the music though! Would you turn it down just a bit more, you're more interesting than the background sounds. Thanks for this!!!
Thank you for the comments, I certainly will turn the music down going forward.
Thanks for the video!
Agreed, great video, but music was a bit distracting. Will definitely look into this, thanks!
did anyone figure out how to send to cura. I exported as a stl file and send to google drive but when I try to open on pc. its blank
Check out the below video on tips to export files for printing. You may find that the file is much too large to import into Cura. I show you how to simplify your project without losing much detail. Hope this helps. studio.ua-cam.com/users/videopceSfk0dXSU/edit
Excellent video. Thank you for the tutorial. Just subscribed
So happy you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for subscribing!
Glad to see you back!
Thank you!
Hey! I was afraid you’d stopped doing videos! Glad to see another of your videos! Thanks! This is great!
Same. I’m glad he’s back. 😊
Thank you, I had to take some time for other things for a while.
Great quality tutorial 👌🏻
Thank you!
Thanks for this unboxing video and the little slick IPA assistance in keeping the reflector from lifting off the base. 👍
No problem, in time the mirror sheet will flatten out and you will not have to do that for long.
How does your clay look so real?
In this video I was using a matcap (material capture). It is great for displaying detail, but the color is lost switching back to a lit pbr (Physically Based Rendering) where you can use different paint and light colors. I will use this for the topic of my next video, this is a perfect subject for it. To get similar results as this you can use paint for the same effect. Go to the paintbrush icon and experiment with paint color, roughness, and a small amount of metalness. Tap the material ball and pick a dull plastic sphere, tap again until it says clone, scroll down you will see a cloned copy with a folder icon and plastic/ beside it. Pick that sphere (it will be there to use whenever you want a real clay/wax sphere color to use) and adjust the following. For more exact color type in #c82f19, Roughness 0.3966, Metalness 0.1196, this will get you in the neighborhood, adjust for your taste. I also went to the shading tab (sun icon) and over exposed about to 3.0 in the Venetian crossroads environment. This was a really long answer to your question, I hope it was not too confusing. Be on the lookout for my next video, I will have a few more tips as well!
Thank you!
You're welcome! Have Fun!
Keep it up, you make great content Originalwerks. Love this one.
So happy you enjoyed it! Have fun with this one!
New sub! great video, glad I found ya!
Welcome aboard! Thank you for the new Sub!
Based on your review, I've purchased the Thermal VATBAND. I was getting ready to set everything up when I realized that the resit vat is made out of plastic and it's hollow. I'm seriously tempted to open it up and see if there is room on the inside to apply the heater. Was your vat also hollow?
No, mine is made of aluminum and solid.
@@Original-Werks Mine is an alloy and hollow. I was thinking about filling the void, but the VATBAND worked great. I had it on level 3 and it kept the resin around 82. An unexpected benefit was easier cleanup. The warm resin just dips away.
Your tutorial was great but you lost me a little. How did the wings in the triplanar disappear? I don't know how to pass that point
if you give me a timestamp, I can see what I did not make clear and help you move forward.
That was SO helpful! Thank you!!
You're so welcome!
Omg finally. Thank you so much for your tutorial now I can make a tile wall with ease. Please please please continue making tutorials for nomad
I certainly will. If you have any hurtles you are trying to cross let me know. I am able to slip in custom videos on occasion.
Thanks That really helped me!!
Glad to hear it!
Great video! If you happen to be in contact with the publisher could you ask them to add an erase function so you can erase errors in the painting process so we don't have to start all over when we nee to correct our paint. I'll try using color picker to choose original mesh color and maybe that may help?
I know, it is frustrating. I hope that it is something that is added soon!
You can attempt to change the resolution of the each face group by using quad remaster. Use the dot stroke and passing over the face group and your painted areas will have more density
Hmm. will have to try that. Thank you!
