Lost my mom to stomach cancer 18 years ago. I'm 44 now (was 25 when she died) and I still have horrid memories of what she went through for 10 months. I remember the day she was diagnosed (stage 4) and she was asking me for the prosnosis. I couldn't tell her it was less than 20% survival rate. What shocked me was her unbelievable willingness to fight until the very end. She was on chemo which may have increased her lifespan a little bit but certainly didn't increase her quality of life. Eventually the cancer metastisized pretty much everywhere ,liver, lungs, brain, and she fell into a coma 1 day after her birthday. I remember the deep breaths she would take which sounds like she was in pain, even though she was unconscious. But the nurses assured me she wasn't in pain at that time. It is as just the fluid building up in her lungs they said that made it sound like she was gasping for her last breathe constantly. Anyway, she was a warrior, just like your father just for having the will to go on for that long. My mom was a strong woman (6'1 over 200 lbs), which her slowly decinegrate into nothing was the hardest thing I ever witnessed. I honestly would hang myself if I had to go through what she did. I'm not scared of death but I am scared of dying of certain cancers, my mom's and your dad's being 2 of them. But anyway, thanks for the video

My husband was 46 when he passed from Glioblastoma Multiform. Happened in 2005. Over 20 years of his life he battled 3 brain tumors. The first two were astrocytomas. The glioblastoma diagnosis left us shattered. It was hard being his caregiver. Hospice helped me and he died at home. That’s what he wanted. Very sad way to watch a loved one die from this. He lived 7 months after diagnosis. We travelled everywhere, no treatment worked.

Two notes from a perspective of someone, who considered buying one: 1) It's the only modern laptop with a swivel screen at current market. The other one, which can be considered an alternative is a 5 year old Fujitsu T939. There is nothing between. 2) Since this lacks pretty much every needed port (USB A, HDMI/DP, LAN port), I went to the older Fujitsu, which has everything. To be honest, I don't give a .... about the e-ink, I was just looking for a service laptop, which has a swivel screen. Why? Because when you work outside, the "flip over" variant keeps the keyboard exposed, rather than hidden under the screen. Try to place it somewhere in the engine bay of a 20 year old car while working. You will end up either with filthy keyboard or you spend 30 minutes cleaning it every single time. With swivel screen, you clean the flat bottom of your laptop with a rag in 2 seconds and one swipe. To be honest, I was really disappointed, when they released the final version. Expecially the absence of the most basic ports closes doors to more practical use cases outdoors. Not everything is wireless today and most diagnostic HW still uses USB A for example.

Glioblastoma is one of the cruelest cancers. My aunt was an Evangelical Christian, only worth noting because she had 9 children because of her beliefs. Two months after the birth of her 9th child, she had a horrible headache she thought was just an intense migraine, but her husband took her to the ER anyway. Turns out it was glioblastoma. She died less than a year after her diagnosis. I remember visiting her in hospice shortly before her death with a few of her older kids. She was struggling to remember her kids. Her death sent her husband and children into a tailspin from which they’ve never fully recovered. She was 40. Rest in peace, Michele.

Nice video; love Scrivener, used it extensively on Windows. Switched to Linux two years ago but there is no Linux Scrivener so had to go back to Word (well, LibreOffice; same sort of thing. Horrible). However, good news, *Scrivener can run in Linux via Lutris* . I know this is relatively niche but someone might want to know 🙂

Well done. My husband died from Glioblastoma multiforme 14 years ago, and his son and I cared for him the entire time, with the exception of some hospital stays. To say it was a wild, but also numbing ride, would be an understatement. He lived just 16 weeks from diagnosis until death. Just 16 weeks. Long enough to get things in order, but no time to catch your breath. And my husband was an awesomely intellectual man, which I’m sure made it worse for him. Just about up to a week before he died, he was pretty damn aware of things. He couldn’t express in words what he needed to, but he still understood us. Well, I can’t rehash 16 weeks in a few paragraphs, nor will I try. But I want to say to you that you most likely did an amazing job with your dad, and don’t ever shy away from the feelings it might generate. If there were shortcomings, it doesn’t make you public enemy number 1. Though I’m guessing there weren’t many. Always remember that God, or the powers that be, or whatever else runs this show, let you be apart of something big. Really, not many people get to do all of those “last things” with a person, knowing that those are truly the last things. And you are right- most people make the jump to Hospice a bit too late. Bless those people!! And bless you, too. Be good to yourself.

so so sorry to hear this ! it's so annoying they don't give a cause. Everything is cause and effect in this world. To anyone suffering currently, what do you feel caused yours? I think it is to do with being near cell phone towers, being exposed to vinyl chloride, burning rubber, and a few other causes from chemicals or heavy metals that can pass the blood brain barrier.

I really hope they get far and find the cure for this. Dr Seyfried is very successful in this endeavor and hoping to see the impact of his work The Gospel! Jesus Christ loves you and died, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven to pay for your sin! Repent and turn to Him and you will walk in light and be saved. Read the book of John and Luke to see God's love for you!
