I like Karl because he can be a lazy person and ignorant to a lot, but at the same time he seems extremely trust worthy in many aspects and seems willing to admit when he's incorrect or ignorant to facts. It's his opinions and beliefs that he holds strong to, as misguided as many of them are. That's more than you'll get from a lot of people unfortunately. If the smartest of us had some of the self-zen as karl does the world would be a better place. Like how he talks about the mattress store salesman, He goes to him for advise and help not once considering the salesman aspect. To be so trusting takes a lot of peace. Ironically all this probably leads to him living an uniquely happy and productive life.
