    amazing content, thank you. How do you clean those mesh medium? scrap them and wash them by hand?

      Yes, I scrape them and then wash with soap. After I soak them in a bleach water solution for about 10 minutes to sanitize.

    Hi there love the show but one thing I noticed. Why don’t you black them out with a black bottom cover instead of turning them when light hits them. They need total black out. The best way for me is to cover them with a black bottom especially for the sunflowers which grow larger than most for maximum size . Just thought I’d let you know you can do that too. But great show. 😊

    • @MarissaWoods1111
      @MarissaWoods1111 9 днів тому

      One reason why I don't leave my blackout domes on is because they are more susceptible to mold. I Keep them in a dark room and they get good airflow this way. I've had better luck with this method personally.

    I wanted to know if its possible to ship boxes of microgreens as a subscription based online service instead having to deliver them in person

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm 18 днів тому

      You probably could, but the cost of shipping and packaging would be high. You'd have to have a cooler insert and make sure it gets to the person in a short amount of time. Not sure it would be worth it because you'd have to charge a lot to cover all the expenses.

    I live in south Carolina and want to start. It's very humid down here in the lowcountry. What set up would you recommend for different climates? I personally love sowing seeds in the natural state of the earth, your insight would be great!

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm 18 днів тому

      You should have them in a temperature and humidity controlled room or greenhouse. Growing outside would be too much variation in temps. You want them to be around 70 degrees and around 50-60% humidity.

    I got some of these mats and the first test I noticed poor germination and it seemed to take longer to grow. Any tips with this?

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm 24 дні тому

      I did testing with and without this solution and had better results with growth when I used it... amzn.to/3XxUs3K Also, you could play around with seeding densities to see if that helps germination. For example, when I plant 11 grams of wasabi mustard most of my tray does poorly and barely germinates...but if I plant 15 grams it does great 😁

    • @woodstinyfarm

      I make roughly 175-250 a week. It really depends on how they are selling at my local grocery store. I have to credit back what doesn't sell at the store, so it fluctuates weekly.

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm 24 дні тому

      I need to do a video on this, but I can give you a quick overview here. Yes, I formed an LLC and keep track of all of my business expenses and income on a spreadsheet. I pay taxes on anything I earn that is above and beyond my write offs. I also have insurance through Flip Insurance which is $300 a year.

    What temperature and humidity do you shoot for and is that year round?

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm 24 дні тому

      I've found 68-72 is an ideal temp with humidity being around 50-60. It gets colder in my grow room in the winter so I add a couple days onto my growing time because they grow slower. Just trial and error!
