Excellent video, it clears a lot of stuff up in regards to working with this camera. One question: what oils and greases to do you use and why do you use them in that particular situation? Or any oil at all? In one you use the small bottle with some oil (which one?) and later you use "graphite grease" which seems much thicker and you apply using the back of a Q tip.

Please help me!!! I just got this camera the electronics works but it apears redlight that is working.. even if i point in the dark areas…

Any ideas on i the check light comes on but the the shutter speeds all fire the same still and the over under lights don't light up??

Thank you. If my YE35 has this problem I know what to do. You should have started with showing the battery check light not lighting, and the battery being charged.

The post that the rewind nob screws onto is outside of the camera and the film door is shut. I need to open the film door to get the post in but I need to get the post in to open the film door. Please send help or sympathy.

hello i have my 35 sp with working meter but doesnt work on auto mode ( a + a ) at all shutter seems to fire at 250th - 500th

Hi again - something super important to note is that the 1/30 and 1/15 speeds will appear to be too slow when the case of the camera is not reattached. I was very confused about this until I saw someone's forum post mentioning it. I think it's a big omission from the video!

These videos are so useful, thank you for your service to our community. The light meter cells on mine look quite dirty, but I guess there is no way to get inside there and clean them without damaging it.

This magnet looks like to two wrapped coils. Isn't there a way to fix the magnet ?

Thank you very much for the video! There was a problem with 2 small contacts, because of which the AV/TV mode change did not work, I removed the cover, disassembled the mechanism, bent the contacts and cleaned the tracks. Everything worked!

I’m getting 0.6k ohm on my magnet. Is it faulty?

How did you come across the tool to remove the front lens element? I'm worried i'll damage the aluminum ring holding the CdS cell. Do you have any suggestions for someone trying to do this project with out that tool? Thanks

My D7100 have problem. Viewfinder display (all aspects, including data at bottom of screen) disappeared, The lights are on but very dim, almost invisible. Have tried several reset user settings, taken out battery, changed battery and pored over manual, but no display whatsoever. Is it possible that the socket flex cable doesn't fit properly? where is the viewfinder socket located. Any ideas? Much appreciated.

You should better wear gloves when cleaning the lens.

the focus lever on my canon canonet ql17 giii sometimes has trouble turning like there's some gunk in the way. do you have any recommendation on what I can use to get it turning smoothly again?

Tje Light Meter work on my 35sp but when I push the Spot meter the nedle goes instant to Zero. Do you have a fix for this? Regards

Really appreciate this video! Going to try to figure it out myself, but my film advance lever doesn't snap back after advancing. Any idea how to fix this? I have a spare demi ee17 for parts and to practice on. Hoping I could swap a part from that one if possible. Thanks in advance!

awesome video. on my ql17 the whole lens+shutter assembly wiggles ie. is a little wobbly. is this "normal" for a ql17 or maybe those 4 screws need to be tightened?

Leave it to Canon to design something that is hard to fix. The parallax adjustment screw should have been design for easier removal.

I soak pentaprism in isopropyl alcohol to remove old foam adhesive. If you leave it the old adhesive will cause de-silvering.

Hello I have a very big problem. I cleaned the rangefinder viewfinder as you did following your instructions, but after putting the cover back on the frame selector no longer works, I can no longer use it only remains at 50 mm. When changing the selector nothing works anymore it remains at 50mm, I may have missed an adjustment

just opened mine because the red and white thingy is crooked and didn't move at all when i advance the film. how do you fix that?

My Demi misses focus, is the back side of the lens adjustable? Adjusting the front doesn't seem to help

Thanks very much for this. My shutter was okay, but I needed to get between the lenses to clean, this showed me how. All done and back together and film loaded. Fingers crossed!
