Join me on the second leg of the Highlander UK, a gruelling 5-day hiking & camping event covering 100km with a total ascent of 4800 meters. In this video, we finish up the walk, taking in some stunning views on this epic journey through some of the UK's most stunning landscapes and traditional summer weather.
Starting out from Stool End ad the base of the Langdale Pikes, we make our way up over Rossett Pike, taking a brief dip in Angle Tarn, following the path beside Great End and having lunch in the shadow of Great Gable at Styhead tarn. We finish our third day at Stonethwaite, enjoying a bit of yoga before being attacked by midges. Our fourth day was a nice easy day, with only 400 metres of ascent in total, following the river to Derwent water, around the east shores, underneath Walla Crag and then passing Castlerigg and finishing at Low Bridge End Farm. The final day sees an epic final hike, at almost 25Km with a total of 1000m in ascent. Making our way up the steep sticks pass, crossing between Raise and Watson's Dodd, then following a narrow ridge before making it to Aira Force. From here we keep going along the paths, with some hills before making our way back into Pooley Bridge and the finish line at Park Foot Holiday park, where we received our certificate and a very welcome cheeseburger meal!
