This recipe uses no yeast, no baking powder, and no buttermilk. Preheat oven to 375 F. Grease a loaf pan. Use 2 cups all purpose flour. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda, a pinch of salt, and 1 generous tablespoon of sugar. Mix dry ingredients well. Stir in 3/4 cup milk. How to Make a Removable Nose Bridge for a Face Mask
Переглядів 1,5 тис.4 роки тому
Wire nose bridges can make a face mask more form fitting and reduce air flow near the nose. Since this homemade mask will be washed and reused I've made a pocket to fit the removable nose bridge. The pocket is snug enough to hold the bridge in place but big enough to move it as needed for fit and comfort. This nose bridge is made from 16 gauge craft wire. Similar nose bridges could be made from...
How to Install Capillary Wick Irrigation for a Kitchen Container Garden
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
Capillary wick irrigation is one of the lesser known water efficient irrigation methods. This is the fifth year I've been using this type of setup. How to Grow a Plant from Cuttings

A tutorial on propagating plants using a dragonfruit plant as an example. Dragonfruit (Hylocereus) are climbing cacti that grow in tropical and subtropical climates. One of the ways I make use of a small yard is by growing several of these vertically along the fence. Many plants can be propagated by cuttings using similar techniques. Nurseries sell single dragonfruit plants at $30 and up, but w...

During mild weather it's sufficient as-is. This local area gets severe dry heat waves in midsummer, so thirsty plants such as tomatoes need supplemental watering then.

Like @Bryan Rudelich below, I've been seeing those upside down olla designs - this is so much better! I had already purchased the silicone for the other design, but now I don't need it; so glad I saw this before I went to all that trouble. Doing this TODAY - thank you so much. (See - wait two years, and eventually the algorithm will put your video in the top!)

I was going to do the same design - I keep seeing them with the hole on top with the saucer under the pot using silicone to glue them together and I'm why? This is far smarter. Plus you dont have to worry about freezing and they are easily removed. Brilliant olla

I think two pots were glued together, the ollas will be taller, the deep roots can drink water, and can help roots grow deeper. It will be good for trees. This will help vegs.

Gravel mulches are used to retain water in the arid climate where I live. Garden seeds still germinate because it doesn't cover the soil completely.

@@melisarivera2581 That's because I live just over the mountain range from a desert: when the winds blow from that direction in summer we can get heat waves that go to 112 F/44 C with 12% humidity. Minimizing evaporation loss is absolutely critical for the local microclimate. Where you live that might not be as strong a consideration. All gardening advice is local.

Very smart. The best capillary irrigation I have seen. The flexible reduce the evaporation. The bottle can be filled by the bottleneck very useful. I think you can improve it by adding a funnel made by another inverse bottle head you cut the neck vertically to shape a cone you can put in the bottleneck of your bottle or you can cut another plastic side bottle to shape a cone you keep with scotch tape.

Every time I see something about cleaning rags or "paperless paper towels" ei towels, I'm more concerned about how to clean the towels/rags after a bad mess. I've had to clean up countless hairballs, cat/dog pee or worse. How do you clean the rags/towels after such an awful, not solid, but not liquid mess? Those are my most frequent messes that I use paper towels for, and I would like to cut down on paper towel waste. Any ideas?

    • @bweresquirrel8279

Hi and thanks for your comment. After ordinary jobs the rags first dry out on a swing arm towel rack in the laundry room, then they go into the next load of laundry. When a cleanup is really nasty I'll either use a paper towel or dispose of the rag.
