Last spring I moved my old spare Land Rover. I used my Land Rover Series 2a LWB 109. The spare is a similar vintage to mine a few years older with the same 2.25L Petrol engine but it’s SWB 88. I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do with it yet, but I like the idea of keeping it around. I have removed the engine and that currently sits on an engine stand in my shipping Container Workshop.

Mine is an 88" so the process is a bit different (only one adjustment point) but question for you: I turn and turn my adjustment bolt head, but it seems to do nothing. I can feel faint clicks, but nothing seems to increase the drag (let alone lock up the wheel) as I slowly rotate the lifted wheel. Does this likely mean my pads are too thin and need to be replaced? Braking seems weak already so that is why I thought I'd try this adjustment first, but maybe there is nothing left to adjust?

I guess this was the best they could do in the late 60's, earl 70's.. But a really poor design even then, can't even get to the bulb easily and sooner or later it won't even start and your stuck out in the bush. Today many of us have replaced the bulbs with LED's. However, this won't work on the charger bulb.. What you have to do is get yourself a 25W 50 Ohm 5% Aluminum Housing Resistor (You could use a 5W, but it would be hot all the time, the 25W stays cool) and a diode put a IN4005 or IN4007 diode is in series with the LED as it can be damaged if the voltage goes high negative. The LED goes "across" the Resistor. The end result is you have what looks like a" bulb" to the Alternator. Or you could just keep a spare Bob with you! and all the tools to remove the dash. .Really a great video you made here, I's sure it helped many people. PS: 50ohm? The original bulb draws about 19mA, the resister will draw 25mA @ 12V, close enough. Don't over pay for these parts, should cost you well under 20 bucks, everybody selling overpriced Land Rover stuff. Oh by the way, need a series 3 Alternator for you 2A (the one used)? The secret is it cheap (like 60 bucks), used on over 200 different vehicles, "they "won't tell you that. Search for " Backhoe 420 3-175". Example: www.amazon.com/dp/B07YN2C9LJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Lucas does not make new alternators anymore (and it was a crap brand in the day) , but this model is still very popular on old cars and there are many new ones out there made by others, better quality too. But the don't advertise, the 2A, 3 market is too small. Just search for the "Backhoe 420 3-175" if you need one. Good luck mates! Edit: but you will still need an adaptor hardware set to mount the series 3 on a 2A. Land Rover North and others sell it.

Sorry mate but this video was still a fail. I don’t understand why it’s hard to actually bring the measuring cup to the screen and physically show exactly how to pour the correct mix. Not 5L or 2L, but exactly like the measurements say on the tool 50:1 or 25:1.

I was gifted a 500-watt wind turbine similar to yours and was wondering how to stick it on a pole. Thank you very much for documenting your progress. Like you, my home is on the grid, but it was going to cost me $1000.00 US to trench power from the meter to my 12x24 ft shed. I opted to purchase 2 200watt solar panels, and I'm getting ready to start building a small solar battery system. This windmill was an unexpected bonus.

I thought the chain brake was on at first but once you got it spinning and I seen and could hear it’s way tight. You want it tight but not too tight. Try only tightening it till the chain touches the bottom of the bar. It is really hard on the crankshaft bar and everything in between. Very good video though. Not many people show and explain going over manufacturers recommendations on bar length.

Got one of these given to me for parts. Managed to get it back to full working order. If anyone has one, it's impossible to get an aftermarket gear head for them (except from Honda at a massive price). Main problem is the shaft is 6mm x 5mm. I bought an aftermarket one with a 5mm square entry and simply ground down the 6mm side of the Honda shaft to suit. Cost £12. Other problem is a throttle cable is hard to get. Ergo do a decent trigger complete with cable and handles which works well on them for £20
