This video is about Carb Rejet and Airbox Modification
why are you calling the fender a fairing?
What is the benefit of doing this? I just purchased a 97 Tourer
Silicone lube is king
Waited for the end to hear it only for you to put music over the sound of the bike ??????
Thanks for showing the petcock and removal. You're the first one to mention the screen, of the several videos I've watched.
Screw the whiney asses that have nothing good to say. If you need all that other info....get a different bike.
Thanks for the video…I was looking forward to hearing it roar though 😢
do you have to rebalance carbs after desmog
Those screws are JIS
Samuel. U I do have the same desmog kit , still in te box. Can you explain the purpose of desmogging? Will it improve the exhaust gases quality?
Seriously?? Why did you need to put this shit music on??
Get a JIS screw driver
I enjoyed your video, it was extremely helpful and 👍🏽
Where can I get a rebuild kit for a 1991 Yamaha radian
Great video. Thx.
Understand this is 6 years old, but I have 106,000 miles on my bike and don’t see why it would need a desmog. Looks like a lot of work.
Вот что значит у человека две руки и растут откуда надо.А не восемь как у осьминога и все из жопы. хи
wouldve been great to hear the motorcycle run instead of crappy music
Great Video! I thought the teaching moment was nice too. That's what I'm hoping to do with my son and his TT-R125
Ok, how to install all gaz houses from that to gaz tank please help
Onrith, then how to install it and hose whit gaz tank.thank's
Thanks, very helpful. I’m trying to fit a Shadow Ace taillight to a Valkyrie Interstate as part of a bagger conversion, (the bracket needs some bending) and was puzzled to take off the fender. Next will be the gas tank off for an air filter change. Cheers.
Great video and super helpful. Thank you
Why exactly would people "tamper" with someone's carb? Am I missing something?
My next bike will be a Valkyrie, hope no one cuts it up or takes 💩 off, I hate cut or modify anything I buy, Cost like hell to repair Shits there for a good reason, Leave it alone and replace it if it’s bad with OEM
Well done. Thank you, love that song
Thanks for the great video!
Great video. :) Tell me please...why would one DeSmog the Valkyrie. Is there a performance advantage? Just wondering why it's done. Thank you. I will be doing the removal as part of a carb clean up/rebuild. I also wonder why one would not just cap the 2ndary hose coming out of the airbox and the hose coming from it and just leave all of the pretty chrome crap in place? lol
I went to this video to watch you take the old gaskets out but you chose to omit that part so basically this video is useless to me appreciate that slick!
Use a pick or a flat head screwdriver. Probably the simplest part of the entire process..
Why would you want to desmog this bike? Does it get better gas mileage?
Awesome video! I love the teaching experience you gave for your son! I wish I had a dad like you growing up!
Is the can on the oil filter hard to make it look nice? I have a purple and white 97, and want to have a grape soda can haha
JUST HAD TO GET YOU OFF THAT 666 NUMBER---LOL
Thanks for the instructive video Samuel. As some of the commenters suggested, I just pluged the air hoses, capped all but two carb vacuum lines and ran those lines with a "T" up to the fuel petcock vacuum connector. The only connector on the airbox I left connected and unplugged was the crankcase breather. The bike runs and idles OK but it only goes about 65mph. There is no throttle response after that. Any thoughts? Did I miss something?
Where did you get the D shaped bit? I don’t see it on CRFsonly
What does this do??
Asking because I don’t know. I’m guessing because I recently acquired a 2014 crf230f and there’s a carb adjustment with a black knob that seems to allow me to adjust the idle up and down for warm up. It’s on the left side near the choke lever. Is this pilot screw something different? I have a rejetting kit coming in the mail that is supposed to be part of how to “uncork” things and just wondering if I’ll need to do this as well. By the way, I’ve only had this Honda for a month, and I already love it, but I’m sure it’s capable of so much more.
Great video! A lady friend of mine has a little ttr125 that I'm trying to help fix up for her and I cannot wait to get the jet kit do you guys remember where you got that jet kit
Ebay has em
What is that noise…
Hey samuel what is the point of adjusting the fuel screw
Is this so you dont have to rejet
please link the part you used
Tears for fears
Dude you are great!! I have Two questions hope you can help. I have the 98 Valk, does the exhaust port just have a tube line that hangs to the bottom of the bike or does it connect to something and when I follow the vacuum line from the petcock it connects to a T towards the bottom of the bike and just ends there. Please help
Sam, ur videos are very good and detailed and slow. I bought a Valkyrie and have been learning to do my own maintenance and ur videos help a lot
Nice explanation but what happens to the carburetor set up after you desmog? Do they have to be readjusted?
Would love a video on Valve adjustment / Tightening for the Valkyrie! Amazing, thorough, easy to follow videos you have - thank you!!!!!
Kinda lame
At 4:25, it looks like the bolt was unscrewing, a little bit? Was that the case? And at 5:40, you spoke about a bolt going into the carburetor. Is that right, do the exhaust bolts go all the way up to the carbs? I wouldn't have thought so?
No he misspoke. He meant to say the bolt goes into the cylinder head.
Great work. Great level of detail. Thank you for creating this video.
Thanks Sam, great how video. I just ordered my desmog kit and will watch the vid when I install it. Anything you can show about the Valkyrie is much appreciated.
