Hi folks! Attached is our first recording since Martin's throat cancer and Tony's heart attack. It's no frills under produced and intentionally live sounding cos ... well it pretty much was. "No messing about Lou" was the brief. "Just get some mic's out, get it down and lets get up the pub!"

“ B LOW “ that harmonica LEE OSKAR jam on jam on
A real HAPPY 75th Birthday to Mr. Lee Oskar and really ALL the best to him ...
In 73 this song saved my sanity and put me to sleep every night as junior in HS: it was the tranquility & only peace:the music;the harmonica. Thank You WAR.†
lee oskar🔥 so expressive
Mint.
Underrated Band and song.
He makes that harmonica sound like a clarinet
One of the baddest harp players to ever live.
I never discovered thus band till after the 70s, the first song that got me was the gipsy man, although I do prefer the recorded version that was played on the radio. Real bands, proper musicians and proper music, non of the synthetic crap from the media generated boy or girl bands most of which is regenerated lemon and mccartney
I'd sure love to watch the whole concert of the music band.
GO LEE OSKAR GO
But this Cat was off the hook!!!
My Father played the harmonica, and loved to play this part of the song, dad could represent!
One of the most incredible bands that ever was, insightful, inventive, incredible!!!
Such a great song and a great performance.
Que pésimo audio, claro no es culpa de quien lo subio
YOUR SONG IS FANTTASTIC WITH LEE OSCAR ARMONIC.
Smokey???
Rindu
This song helped me save my sanity in california 1974, what a comfort to listen to then & now.
Where B.B. on this 1?😎

Who couldn't love this. I need all u kiddies to sit up and take notice. it's ok to actually sing and play at the same time. Have a nice day.
Gypsy man go war get busy!!
War gypsy man classic great music from one of the best bands ever !!!
These bands were light years ahead of the dogshit that passes for music today. These guys are trully creative and talented

I remember going to see the group War playing in concert in Chicago all the members in the group were black except for Lee Oscar and when they did an introduction to all the band members they called Lee Oskar the little white sheep of the group they were fantastic back then and they still are nobody else can play with me play great group from the 70s these groups from nowadays don't have shit on them
Manuel Gonzalez So true! I am not impressed at all by most of the popular acts of today! I like musicians...music! Not the factory cookie cutter mold that is everywhere!
in the early 70s I went to the concert in Chicago to see War and at that time all the members were black and when they introduce Lee Oskar they called him the little white sheep in the group and I'm telling you we was smoking weed drinking wine and War was jamming and then when I move to Las Vegas in 2005 I seen the group War again in concert several times and then they only had one original member and the rest of the group was Hispanic but they all jammed they sounded great since then I haven't seen War so I don't know who's in that group now but they were bad what I would wish that I could go back and party with war in the seventies
america
Thanks for sharing that was great!
this is one great harmonica player , few can touch him for tone and expression. I dont care about the thousand note guys this man has soul and expression
I first heard this song while stationed in the Phillipines and immediately made it a favorite for that great harmonica solo in the last 2 minutes of the studio version. I should have just stuck with the audio because whenever I see great songs trying to be enhanced by all sorts of visuals (like jumping around and bouncing all over the place on stage) it detracts from the great tune, IMO. I'm sorry I came here.
Love this 1973 Gypsy man !!!!!!!!!!
War was a group that knew about the groove, starting off slow then building to that crescendo where it was Lee Oskar time...laying back and letting him solo and then again building up for the finale!! Makes for great music!
I went to a War concert in the late 70's and I remember one of the band members saying ..."Lee Oskar, he's a bad Mutha F(&^^&" It looked as though Lee was a little embarrassed, but he got a huge ovation!
Oskar was the best
Yes
What a real treat. I still have the album, the 33. So glad I saved it. Thank You for sharing, Much Love
What key is this Lee is playing? Is it the Db? Thanks.
jenhba in D major, 2nd pos.

DAT LIGHTSKINNED BROTHER CAN PLAY DAT HARMONICA !
En 1980 ça c était de la musique et aujourd'hui c'est encore plus beau bravo the war for touggheser
Actually he was just "laid back" & "funky cool" to me as all the band were. Lee O's playing was quite extraordinary tho. I wish I could play those high notes with the same confidence & skill !
A Lee Oscar harmonica is a great harp to play - Lee playing it - even greater !
Is he playing an Oscar harmonica?
@@mikestrickhorn4132 Sounds like and 🥺looks like (with limited view😵💫)...but maybe not..🤣not sure if he had created the brand in 1980 🤔.....probably. Ask me again in 10 years...😂✌😎
Can you find or how can you find tabs of the harmonica on Gypsy Man?
This tune can be transcribed, but the nuances of Lee Oskar's playing? Magic is impossible to capture. And he is a harmonical magician. He gives me the chills right down to my bones.
