I loved Ian Somerhalder’s character Damon, since he starred as Damon Salvatore, since season 1 episode 1 pilot Damon, is just as loving, caring, compassionate, and sweet as his brother Stefan. Damon is who he is no excuses. I loved Damon when he was the villain but as the seasons progressed he changed into this beautiful man and guy that deserves to be loved by Elena. Everyone did hate Damon at first but they got used to him being impulsive and reckless even in season 2 episode 18 the last dance he told Elena that let me be clear about something if it comes down to you and the witch I will gladly let Bonnie die I will always choose you. Like rose told Jeremy in season 3 episode 19 Heart of darkness Stefan is always going to be good for her his love is pure. Damon is either the best thing for her or the worst.

A lot of these reasons can also apply to Stefan and Elena, except for the they met first- which doesn't seem like a valid reason for two people to be together.

Stefan, knew that Elena was in love with Damon from the very beginning and even in season 2 episode 20 the last day even though Stefan knew that Damon shouldn’t have fed Elena his blood he said he did it because he loves you. And Stefan also said I am also talking about the fact that you’re also in love with Damon. But he did this to me Stefan which means he doesn’t know what love is. Stefan, even admitted to Elena that he did push Elena closer to Damon. Elena to Stefan yeah Klaus dragged you through hell but you came out on the other side. And who did I lose in the process? Stefan, still chose to do his revenge fantasy against Klaus for taking everything from him instead of coming back home to Elena after Damon was cured from the werewolf bite. Stefan to Elena I know that you don’t owe it to me but I want you to admit it to me Stefan I can’t I never stopped loving you I know you didn’t even though I did everything to push you away. To me Damon does know what love is but he shows it differently.

But she was also the only person I’ve ever met who actually believed that my brother was worth loving and she reminded me that I used to believe that about him too. Damon, and Elena have always had the most beautiful chemistry, understanding, and friendship I have ever seen. Damon, was very closed off from everyone else but when he was with Elena he openly spoke about how Katherine treated him and even though he didn’t trust anyone that easy he trusted Elena and she trusted him. Like Elena said Damon was dangerous but not in a way that it scared her but she felt comfortable being around him. To me delena was always meant to be since the beginning of the vampire diaries season one episode one pilot. She denied that she had feelings for Damon because she didn’t want to hurt Stefan’s feelings but when she became a vampire those feelings magnified. I think that the vampire diaries ended on a good note because at least we were able to see Elena and Damon have a human life together. Elena will always love Stefan but she knew that Damon was worth loving. Damon, and Stefan both went through a whole ordeal in their lives before they met Elena. Damon, might be known as the impulsive, and reckless vampire but he is just as loving, caring, and compassionate as Stefan just in a different way that doesn’t mean he can’t be a lovable person but in order for Damon to change and become the man he is supposed to be everyone has to learn, respect, and love him the way he is. Damon, does have a habit of sabotaging things when someone is trying to give him the chance to change his ways and even when he screws up Bonnie, Alaric, Caroline, Elena, Stefan, and Enzo are always there to rescue him from himself and that’s why I love that even though they hated Damon they never abandoned him because they knew that there’s good in him. I also think that it didn’t matter who ended up with Elena whether it was Stefan or Damon they would be able to have a much better brotherly relationship.

I think that if we saw more of Damon’s backstory as a human we would have a much better understanding of why he wanted to die as a human instead of becoming a vampire and Stefan is the one who made him drink human blood when Damon didn’t want to he assumed that Katherine died but she faked her death. Damon hid his compassion away from everyone but when he was with Elena he showed it more.

I think that even though Damon, is known as the impulsive and reckless vampire underneath the surface he is a loving, and caring person who wants to be loved and cared about and that’s what Elena did she accepted him either way just like Damon did with Elena. When Elena, transitioned into a vampire Damon helped Elena to embrace it and learn how to feed from the vein. Damon, has never had anyone love him as much as Elena does and I still found that it was unfair for Stefan, and Caroline to base their relationship on the sire-bond. She will always love Stefan no matter what that will never change. Stefan, was Elena’s epic love and Damon is her true love.

Damon, wasn’t always mean to everyone as a human being he was always loving, caring, and compassionate. To me he is still loving, caring, and compassionate even though he is a vampire he just has to learn how to control how he handles his emotions and needs to change his ways. He is a good person just like his brother Stefan but he shows it differently and sometimes we have to accept what is and not try to Change that person and live with that. I love how Elena looked past all the things that Damon has done and learned to love and respect who he is in reality.

Elena, saw the good in Damon ever since the beginning even in season 1 episode 13 Children of the damned. Even though Elena, hated Damon she never abandoned him and I knew that Damon was always the good brother. I know that Stelena shippers don’t like Damon and what he does but he did things to get business done to love, and protect the people he cares about Stefan, Elena, Liz, Rose, Alaric, Bonnie, and others. Damon, was always a good brother to Stefan he wouldn’t let anything happen to him. Damon, did promise Stefan an eternity of misery for making him become a vampire when he didn’t want to which I felt bad for Damon at that time and when Katherine said that she never loved Damon and only Stefan I felt really bad for Damon as well while I was watching that scene but I do think that Katherine cared about Stefan and Damon in her own way. When Elena kissed Damon in this scene it didn’t mean she was betraying Stefan in any way she was always faithful to him even when he loss his humanity she loved him through the good and the bad. Stefan, and Damon both love Elena but in different ways. Stefan, knew that Elena was falling in love with Damon even before season 4 episode 7 My brother’s keeper he realized that she loves Damon. You should’ve met me in 1864 you would’ve liked me I like you now just the way you are. Season 2 episode 22 As I lay dying. Season 1 episode 13 Children of the Damned You know I really think that Damon believes that everything he’s done every move that he’s made he’s done for love - Elena.

The show isn’t really about who Elena, ends up with because at the end of the day it’s about Damon, and Stefan getting along with each other and putting their differences aside to become better people, men, and brothers. Elena, helped them to stop feuding about Katherine and Damon, learned to love, care, and be compassionate with others. Liz, Alaric, Rose, and Isobel really loved and cared about Damon so did Elena.

I love love love this your very talented!!! Damon and Elena were always going to end up together. As much as I love Stephan and I do it always seemed to be that it's the kind high school love that you grow out of (saying that I married my high school love) anyway. They had so much passion even in the times when they were so angry with each other for one reason or other they had fire 🔥. Damon would never put anyone above her she will always be his first priority no matter what the situation. As long as she's OK and safe he's happy, I never got that feeling from Stephan and Elena although they were really good together I never saw them lasting. When Damon fed her vampire blood and Stephan walked up the mountain with her she said she didn't want to think about her future she was to young to think that far ahead. Yet with Damon she said the only future she saw was him, her and him together she made him promise that their love was forever.

Stelena was bound to break up.I mean seriously its just feels so creepy that Stefan literally stalked her for months,basically he knew her even before he started dating her,wanted to make her fall in love with him without even showing the darkest parts of himself.His killing streak,he never let her know how many peoples he killed,not without getting busted anyway but Damon,he never hid himself from anyone and despite knowing everything about him Elena loved him and I think thats hoe its supposed to be.I mean do you even remember how many times season 1 Stefan lied to Elena??All I am trying to say is he was fake not the real himself when Elena fell in love with him,she fell in love with the perfect boyfriend facade he made for himself

I was Stelena at the beginning, and this is how I became Delena. It was just like them, I suppose. It was something. A feeling. I ignored, or tried, but I just couldn't run from it. I didn't even needed to accept anything...their bond, their faith in each other, how they built and inspired each other, how they needed and listened to each other, their constant understanding with their growing relationship, their love, a so real and once-in-a-lifetime type of love...when I realized, I was in love with this couple, how they worked together, believed...that was unique. I can tell all these reasons you presented here were what made me love them, but I know that something about them just tells is much more than 101 reasons, but we just can't describe or say. It's something everyone wants to find, but no words seem worth to describe 💖💖 you just know deep down all the time.

Damon and Elena may have a much more complicated, messy, and frustrating love story, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t love each other they were going through so much in their relationship especially with Kai criticizing Elena for choosing to be with Damon because he thinks that she stopped caring about what’s right or wrong. Kai, should’ve kept his opinion to himself he was being completely condescending.

No offense to you Stelena, shippers but to be honest I love Damon and Elena always and forever delena. Damon, might not have done things properly for Elena to see improvement in his personality but she accepted who Damon truly is and that’s what love is all about coming to terms with what you know about that person. Damon might have killed people but so did Stefan. Stelena is overrated. Nobody actually looks at the facts. Ok. So Stefan resisted Klaus' compulsion. Damon still remembered Elena under Sybil's compulsion, which is 100x stronger than Klaus'. Delena had been built, rather than just them dating for a few days and getting together like Stelena. They both change each other for the better. Even Stefan admitted that Elena made Damon a better person. And to all those Stelena kids who thought Delena was toxic. Stefan literally ripped heads off through Tennessee, and said he didn't want her. I mean. Bruh. Look at S4. Stefan teams up with REBEKAH to get the cure. Stefan is so damn jealous in S4 it is unbelievable. 'You stole my girlfriend.' Stefan said this to his brother. Stelena was ok at the start, but at the end it was awful + toxic af. With Delena. I mean look at the scene where they kissed in the rain, or the time Elena still fought to remember their relationship even though Alaric compelled her to forget. Damon was so ashamed, thinking he was ruining Elena's life. She did not care. She stuck by him, and I am happy to see that they had kids. I'm not normally like this, but most Stelena fans are toxic af. Screw you toxic Stelena fans.
