First snowmobile ride of the winter
Today I gave my sled a once over and fired it up after 9 months of sitting. I took it up the canyon for a ride in the fresh snow and offer some thoughts on riding snowmobiles and staying out of trouble.

Nice, looks like a good start to winter this year
Thanks bud now we just need some more snow on the ground! Thanks for watching!
The greasy triple rides again! Glad you’re having fun out there. 😜
You can ride on the 2 up seat anytime Colleen! Thanks for watching!
Good thoughts!
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Enjoying it all!
Thanks for watching big wo💪💪
Loving the videos! They're great fin!
Haha thanks for tuning in!! Keeping tabs on me!
Happy Hunting 😅
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
@ 👍🇺🇸
This is the exact camper I want and this is the best pop up camper video I’ve seen- super informative.
Wow, I’m glad it was helpful! You won’t be disappointed if you get one. I just backed mine in the driveway after doing an overnighter!
Do you think this car is good for an everyday driver? I see one posted for around 9k with 90k miles on it. (Assuming it the original engine)
We drive ours everyday. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Yo, isn't he a member of the 27-year club.. ?
Sure is
Д. Д. Моррисон❤
Thanks for watching!
Amazing how many great songs The Doors produced in less than 6 years. ❤
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Cook to time and temp. 3 min per Lb and then add 5 min all done at 350 degrees. This looks like it stayed in a bit too long or oil was at 400 deg
Yes we did 350 temp and 48 minutes. It was perfect inside actually. We put a dry rub on the skin and I think that browned it more than usual. 13.9 lbs bird. Thanks for watching!
Looks beautiful! Just like that sweet puppy dog being so good in the background! ❤
Oh yea he got some goodies too!! Thanks for watching!
Looks a little over done
That was my initial thought. It was perfect inside. We put a dry rub on the outside and I think it darkened the skin.
Hey! What spoting scope are you using? Also, do you like it
It’s the vortex 27-60x85mm. I like it a lot and would totally recommend it. They are pricey but probably on sale today ha! Thanks for watching and I hope you had a good thanksgiving!
Ni se mira nada
Thanks for watching!
I should try it someday
Yea brother! Just make sure you check the fill level with water first! Happy thanksgiving!
I've made Grouse loads for all my rifles. Sometimes it seems i get more excited to pot a grouse than to get a deer. Alot easier to pack out as well . . . ☆
Good idea. Never heard of it honestly but makes sense! Thanks for watching and take care!
Grouse smell and taste like a flying gut pile.
Change or service trans way more often. Like every 45k no longer than 65k. Trans last long time considering lack of maint. Torque converter is weak point on original trans.
👍👍 thanks for watching!
A bad wheel bearing will cause the tire to wear like that most generally the inside part of your tire. That’s what it looks like to me if it was wheel alignment issues both tire’s would be worn
I wondered about that. In the shop getting a little work done now on the front end.
Good maintenance is a testament of a long lasting truck. My 03 motor was having ticking issues. Found worn out cam bearings. I bit the bullet at 285 miles and motor rebuilt. Im at 387k now, my transmission is starting to shift rough. I know its time to rebuild it. 2 weeks ago, my rear differential failed. Now im rebuilding the rear differential at $650.00 in total parts. But im going to keep it and continue driving it. I enjoy it. God bless
That’s alot of life out of a transmission. Good luck with the rear diff job. Changing my gear oil in front/rear diff is on my list this winter. Thanks for watching and take care!
owned a 2004 tahoe 5.3 v8 sold in 2018 with 272,000 miles. Never replaced the belt, plugs, wires or anything except battery, brake pads and fuel pump. Priceless.
Those are sweet. I had a 2004 Tahoe that was awesome and super comfortable. Man I miss that truck. I had some rattling in transfer case and I took it to the shop- the guy actually brought it from me and I still see it around from time to time. It was a Z71 with all the bells and whistles. Think it was 185k when I sold. Thanks for watching!
My Montana season has gone much like yours, started in archery season. I primarily hunt alone as well and in griz country. Ready for some hard H20 and easier sport. Got lots of exercise though...
Yea it’s a grind but I always feel the best when I’m in those mountains. Good luck man and thanks for watching!
Bro.. Do not run ads on your videos. Just upload video per day or once a week or month but be consistent and try to upload above 8 minutes long. And Use attractive thumbnail, full HD and with clear view and use Best titles and description. Within a year you will see magic, thanks me later
Thanks for watching!
Let’s go😊
You got that right
Great video. Honestly, plugs and wires will go 100 even 150k easy. Not bad to do them but just food for thought. Impressive you got to 228 on the original trans. My 2005 is at 251K now but I've thrown everything at it. New motor, trans, rear end, u joints, whole front end rebuild, I painted it....lots of stuff. Granted, I also live in the Northeast, did a TON of towing with it, including a 6500lb camper...and just really worked it right up to what it was designed for over the years. It really owes me nothing, but I did finally have to upgrade to an HD truck for my uses. Now it's a grocery getter/ local hauler and it's awesome for that.
Thanks Man! Yea I pulled a 6500 lbs camper over Lost Creek pass in the snow last year and boy could I feel it behind- I know what you mean when you say it owes you nothing. Ive put mine through hell. Thanks so much for watching!
@westernsoutherner1 Heck yea man. I looked after I made that comment. My cost/mile is like 15 cents...however I did the motor at 222k so I would need more miles to get that average back to where it "should" be. Plus the trans is still farily new and whatnot as well.
That’s not bad and like you said cost will come down over time.
@@westernsoutherner1For sure.
Hello Westerner, I have a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado with a 4.8 L V8 that I have put over 351,000 miles on. I like you have change oil every 3 to 4000 miles using Castro synthetic oil in a 10/30 weight.Very good luck with my Truck never once have I had to do any transmission work nor engine work to speak of Very good luck with my Truck never once have I had to do any transmission work nor engine work to speak of. I did have to have the rear main seal repaired. I’ve only replaced the spark plugs two times brakes two times and do regular maintenance on the truck. I’ve had very very good luck with this truck and that 4.8 L is bulletproof, which is a testament of the miles that I have gotten out of this truck. Good luck to you this next hunting season and hopefully you draw some good tags there In your state of Idaho.
350k is impressive and no transmission issues is even more impressive. Did you change the transmission fluid/filter? Good luck to you too and thanks for watching!
I did have a rear main seal and had the fluid changed at that time other than that it’s been unbelievable quite frankly.
Enjoyed the video, miss the hunt immensely; stage 4 cancer and my legs are shot but I have my memories 😎🤩👍
Thanks for watching partner and take care of yourself!
Just a thought do alot more glassing than trying to track an most definitely use onx
Lots of both! Thanks for watching!
Hunting by yourself puts you in a disadvantage
Hard to find people that want to walk up a mountain. Thanks for watching!
Story of my life
How so?
Those tracks look too small for elk
Thanks for watching!
Maybe it's the camera angle, but most of those elk tracks sure look like deer tracks.
Thanks for watching!
Rabbit tracks! Whoa, what is that!!😂
Yeah I thought about that too! Thanks for watching!
What unit are you in?
Middle of the state. Pioneer mountains area. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Did you check the pcv valve and the tubings? Those could cause vacuum issue in the system. Seems your O2 sensors are working. You just clean up the o2 with some alcohol little bit.
Yes PCV was working. The stock Delco O2 sensor did the trick. Im at 250k now and no check engine light back on.
@ glad you fixed the problem. My 17 rav4 also has p219a code. I took out O2 sensor and soak in alcohol and brush with tooth brush. It fixed my issue.
Awesome stuff. I grew up on this river from salmon to Stanley. Seen you also like to hunt so if you ever want some info let me know and I'd be happy to help.
Thanks partner! It’s beautiful country up there I love that area. Thanks for watching the video too.
@westernsoutherner1 absolutely. Watched several of tryout other ones. Like seeing my home. Miss it.
Are you in Pioneer? My son and I have pioneer tags and are heading up in a week
Might see you out there. Good luck to you and your son! My Dad and I were lucky enough to hunt together mid October also.
@ when does Trail Creek Rd close? Or is it dependent on weather
V6 or V4?
V6. Thanks for watching!
Good wind! Get that elk brother
Thanks man! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! Quite a change in the weather over the last couple of weeks.
Thanks Bruce! Cold and snowy in the mountains, but still sunny and warm down low!
I too go on many hikes with my rifle! Luckily my wife enjoys going along so I'm very fortunate for our time together outdoors!
Thanks for watching! I was able to get over the weekend but no luck again. Next weekend is my last chance!
The problem is not the transmission. It's the torque converter shits through your transmission! If your 12-19 sierra/Silverado has less than 80k miles and you don't feel shuttering or slipping. I suggest you upgrade the torque converter and replace the thermostat knuckle to avoid shuttering and transmission rebuild/replace!
Thanks for watching! Mine had 225k so it was rode hard put up wet.
I know exactly where this is. I was just there looking for Mule.
Thanks for watching! I’ve seen small bucks but no big boys. Does everywhere out there. Good luck!
Lost on purpose
I’ll find it!
good thing the tranny working well so far.
Yes it’s going strong. Thanks for watching and take care!
Hey, What is the function of the ugly black plastic on the hood?
Some kind of bug/salt/grit/rock deflector. Ha we think it looks good actually! Out west this part of the car takes a beating and the paint is worn off without.
@@westernsoutherner1 okay, here in my country Tanzania🇹🇿 Africa, i have been seeing these ugly things that makes the cars look ugly especially the SUVs and the Medium size pick ups like the toyota hiluxes without knowing the prior function of such thing. Thanks for the informantion.
How did the lower intake repair go? Parts are cheap for these trucks luckily
It’s a big job. I tried to record it but I had to abandon that and focus on the work. So far so good. I’ll do an oil analysis soon and get a scientific reading on any coolant in the oil.
Looks like it should work.
Works great
This video answered all the questions I had
I’m glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
I have these on my Tacoma. Worth every penny. Snow, rain, dry doesn't matter. Would buy again.
