Mad respect
Hard work!!!
I want one. Dont know what I'd do with it, but I want one.
Like you said, that is awesome!!!
Nice work
For firewood?
Nothing like having a professional do it.
Nice looking job!
Thanks!
Isnt the track frame on the 527 got an extra roller or two in length
Things a beast
It is. Wish they still made that machine.
No you have stripped the land, taken the biomass. crushed the soil, and started farming it....
Absolute workhorse!
No one realizes that foresters and loggers care more about the environment than "environmentalists"
Thank you and spot on.
The engine is build by Fiat but it was designed by Tigercat. I run the same Machine. That big one he cut, he still could have moved into position, he just chose not to. Those machines are incredibly powerful. Awesome video. I will follow for sure. Keep it up.
you need more than just the trees there. you need native biodiversity, not monocultures
I knew I heard the tree man in your voice
Ha ha. Just promoting our industry one video at a time.
Sweet I’m a “urban logger”
Enlighten me good sir what is your industry?
I work as a forester in the logging/timber industry.
Too often, the forest is replaced with a monoculture planted in strait rows.
We don’t plant in straight rows, we try to plant back on average, 400 trees per acre. This stand here is not a monoculture. About 4 different species were planted about 10 years ago on this piece.
This is so tone deaf...It's not that your planting. It's what your planting. Ask elm trees how well your industry has treated the trees they work with...hope your not a big fan of things made with ash wood. Because Clones In large swaths are a useless waste of time. No genetic diversity in the trees means they all have the same weaknesses and when one tree gets diseased it spreads and kills all of them. If you need more context look up dutch elm disease. And if your company doesn't plant clones... prove it
Cause it's not that simple dude, bb trees don't pay rent and just burrrrrnn. Ur destroying the soil and making fire hazards
The ones that dont get it and complain about it better not have one thing made of wood and their house better be made out with something besides wood!!!!
Better start planting more plastic 😮😅. Still using a lot of them.😊
A cow!
People cant understand what they really dont know. Keep it up. Its work8ng great
Because it doesn't matter if you replant trees or not -especially if they're from the exact same genus - if all the exploited land is altered and degraded, because you destroyed all the vegetation and dug deep trenches, trees will not prevent erosion by themselves and once it steats happening, it's very difficult for the vegetation and wildlife to recover. The soil is like a giant living organism, too much disturbance can cause long term damage that can even directly impact human populations.
Want kind of trees are they planting?
Douglas fir.
It's a monoculture and it's still harmful to wildlife
You plant trees that are genetically modified! Unless mother natures process is left alone to do what’s right for the forest and not the financial concerns of Timber companies all your planting is Frankenstein trees.
You planting nothing but pines? What about a mixed forest? And 7 trees to 1 thats way to many in a area When native free roaming America they controlled the forest with burns trees were very large in girth and was about 40 feet apart understory trees thrived so did meadows The forest was healthier it was a savannah then now its a disaster
The problem is what old growth provides. An old growth forest is worth more than 10 new and second growth forests in terms of wildlife habitat support, regulating weather (literally), and being a carbon sink. It takes hundreds of years of growth to achieve it, and even though it is slowing, old growth logging still happens. We need to return our forests to what they were, and turn to a more sustainable material. Wood may have been sustainable 300 years ago, but today it just can't keep up with the demand, and maintain a healthy ecosystem
I see there a very large trunk of the tree, like a 1000-year-old trunk, how will you restore that? just curious...
Either way. Strip logging looks like shit. And clearly is not good for animals. Fish or foul. Tell us how much good it does to lose old growth. And destroy natural eco systems. Modern day forestry is why western forests are all in peril. Disease, fungus, bugs. And catastrophic wild land fire. Tell us some more how good it is for the earth.

Yeh 🎉
What's with the hard hats for planting?😂
Usually, planted forest are ecological desert because only one type of tree is used, usually one of commercial value. Nothing lives in them.
This thing about climate change is not real. Dig deep you will. Who is that stupid.
Good job no natural regeneration from stumps or roots a forest heals itself into a new one if they could look pass the stumps 😂
Amazing how the least compelling arguments are always paired with such high self assurance. You went to every length to portray your opposition as irrational and detached from reality, but made no compelling case yourself. The idea that a 30 second anecdotal video encapsulates the issue is absurd. Your belief that it is high quality evidence is an accidental self-tell of your scientific illiteracy. You are so lost that you don't even know what a compelling argument would comprise of.
Yes, but is Douglas Fur the kind of trees that were clear-cut? I'm all about harvesting trees, but replace them with the same thing that was cut down. Not just a fast growing shrub that offers very little for wildlife. Godspeed friends.
Yes. These stands are primarily Douglas fir with a few other species mixed in.
The first statement you make was a blatant lie. Why should I believe anything else you stated? (Although it's not wrong what you said after the lie, starting on a stupid is always bad)
I think it's good that we do this practice of cutting older trees and growing a new one so that's the forest can rejuvenate faster than normally would
"... That nasty, evil word, Clear-Cut." Really? I mean, really?
And though the logging is done and trees replanted, you won't get the undergrowth nor the animals in there for a long, long time. It's not a win.
unfortunately first-year survival after hoe planting ranges from 1 to 9 percent.
I'm not sure if you right or not but I do know that after 15 or so years this forest will be so thick they will likely thin the timber when the stumps are around 6". This is called pre-commercial thinning and is done the give the trees room to grow.
Just another monoculture intensive farm no biodiversity here zero reason to pat yourself on the back 😂
Why do you only plant evergreens trees?
This area of western Washington has very good climate and soils to grow Douglas fir. Additionally, Douglas fir is one of the highest valued evergreen species and produces some of the best lumber in the softwood species. This timber company along with several others primarily plant Douglas fir.
Yeah, the reason why this happens now is because environmentalists raised a huge stink about it, and this is called sustainable logging. Environmentalists won't show this because it's not a problem anymore. Weak click bait
Exactly. Their concerns are bullshit without a doubt, none of them have ever worked in timber it seems.
You really think the landowners don’t want to replant and harvest again? That it took some “environmental” dorks to get them to realize they could keep making money on the same land? Lmfao
Rubbish... the logging industry has always replanted the plantations, that is their income in 50 years time, they don't just walk away from it.
Well said, I don’t understand how this video is supposed to make environmentalists seem like the bad guy. This is something that everyone can agree on, replanting trees after they’ve been cut down.
@@jakewarren2369 So I take it you just haven’t noticed warmer temperatures, lakes and rivers getting smaller or you just stick your head in the sand to pretend like the any criticisms of how we impact the environment are unfounded.
I love this. I used to be a line clearance trimmer and I loved it
