Iso initially entered Valorant Protocol in order to get close to Omen and kill him, but upon realizing that the Protocol were willing to protect him, Iso had 2nd thoughts about his target, and after realizing that they both came from Scions of the Hourglass, that led to them working together to at least piece an important part of Omen's former life, and that's where he decided to quit and officially joined the Protocol.

Clove is a pretty unique addition to the controller role. They can still provide smokes AFTER they DIE. That's why the smokes color changes in the trailer. Bright colored smokes while alive. Dark colored smokes while dead.
