Allan, thanks for the time you put into these edited programs. Floyd is truly a work of art, and the love of their music shows in the work involved in creating these packs. I do perform with a stereo rig, and it's based on the GigPerformer hosting software (very intuitive performance software). Joined a Floyd tribute several months ago, though I have performed many of their songs previously over the decades. It's been a blast, and your packs definitely got me up to speed quickly with the tribute band. Also joined a Jefferson Starship tribute two months ago, so if you have time... ;) Thanks again!!

All in all, I applaud you for persevering with this album, having patience to cover most of the sounds, and some recreated rather brilliantly. It's my favorite Floyd record after WYWH, because it's very personal. I also lost my father very early and had other similar life experiences as described in the album, so The Wall (and parts of the Final Cut) appeal to me on a personal level, even more than the musical. Congrats on this heck of a job you pulled and thank you! I enjoyed revisiting the album in this unusual format, although the songs boost my depression (and are weirdly and paradoxically therapeutic to me at the same time). Who can tell..

Run like hell sync lead is 👌 screaming loud in your face as it should

"Show must go on" live version also has this cool, I call it an "Eastern flute" sound. Kind of like Chinese native flutes. Could also be a simpler case of the recorder flute, now that I listen to it after a while.

"Is there anybody out there?", those plucky sounds are actually real-life tape loops of glass recorded. bottles probably ("breaking bottles in the hall"). Floyd recorded a ton of tape loops for this album. and the other sound you left out reminds me of the ambulance siren, but recreated on synth, prolly Prophet. sounds like a child toy ambulance car ))

"Don't leave me now" is so good! I like that the synth is huge and overwhelming, I like it better like that. But the "mosquitoes" are actually worms 😉 "And the worms ate into his brain" and then this sound appears.

Another very good video. About your question at the end. I think all the important sound are there and they are so good !!!

For Young Lust, try to add Wurly with a phaser from 1980 live version. Peter Wood plays Wurly 200A with Phase 90 there and he really boogies up the place! Great piano player, RIP, passed away too young.

Fantastic job on Goodbye Blue Sky! Myself, I would put a colossal reverb on that, the one that would absolutely shatter and obliterate the place! Supposed to be intimidating and scary like that, fits it just right. I also love what you did on VCS3 for Empty Spaces, very nice! Yes, off notes on delayed plucks, but no matter. Patches are superb! Would also slap a huge reverb on VCS3, make it sound like WTTM angry machines working!

Mother flutes always sounded to me like Hammond with tonewheels set up in certain way so it resembles this "flutey" sound. Direct Hammond tone, Leslie is off. But good job on Pigments, anyway!

there is some synth on Happiest Days at the end, before it goes into ABITW pt 2, but there is also a backing choir singing there and I could never figure out what the synth is. some kind of distorted pad or even a single distorted bass note played. maybe DillPickles will have more details on Happiest Days.

ABITW pt 1 Prophet bass, I could almost feel it kick me in the belly! Serious low end, coming down like that, it immediately set the right vibe for the song. Minimoog brass at the end also spot-on. Fantastic!

In Flesh verses there is also a sweeping synth similar to "Don't leave me now". When Roger sings "So ya, thought ya, might like to go to the show," and on and on, every verse line this sweeping synth sounds off. It's a bit buried in a mix, it can be heard more clearly during second Flesh (reprise) "Pink isn't well, he stayed back at the hotel".. "Don't leave" synth can be reused for Flesh or you could make a variation.

I would give Thin Ice bass sweep a revision. It's a softer bass sound on the record, not as "in your face", the sweep seems to have a wider range and the sound decays slower. Here it's a bit short and staccato.

that Flesh ARP Quadra sequence is still the ever elusive one, still the unicorn.. I wish Jon Carin disclosed more details, but he played it tight to the chest. it's such a wild joker card, bizarre, complex layering. Jon probably uses the original recording sample live, I don't think even Jon could recreate it in detail. wish I could ask James Guthrie, now he certainly knows, he made that bloody sequence in the first place!

Haha I like the distortion on the organ! Flesh Hammond almost steps into Jon Lord gnarly distorted Leslie territory, but I love it, anyway. It got guts. I'd kick in some low end for more boldness, but I get you EQ out the lows for the live situation with the whole band playing, you mentioned it previously.

Good job but without the orchestral plugins more sound are missing, for example in Nobody home, Vera, Bring the boys, Comfy: these songs will play almost empty

Hi Allan, I am considering buying Arturia AstroLab that is basically the V-Collection in a hardware synth. Most of the time I'm in my studio but AstroLab seems to be a good option for the road if you don't want to travel with a computer. I think we can upload in AstroLab any patch we create in Analog Lab but I'm not sure. Do you have info on that subject ? Is Floyd Keys Deluxe V.2 compatible with AstroLab ? By the way, again, very interesting video !! Thank you very much !

One detail, the time farfisa should have the repeat function on and vibrato should be on max, other than that it’s the coolest sound on the pack :)

Awesome work Allan. I've been subscribed for a while and enjoying your progress with the PF keys. For pigs organ intro on my MODX7 I layered 2 organs and detuned one organ so I could play it with one hand. Then I used my expression peddle to fade in and out the strings. I guess you could do that in MS.
