VAN TOUR | 2011 Ford Transit Connect Camper Van
This is a van tour of a rare 2011 Ford Transit Connect Camper Van that I built all by myself. Going straight into it, here are the strongest points about this van:
1) GREAT GAS MILEAGE. This van does 21 Miles a gallon whereas other bigger vans can go as low as 8MPG.
2) YOU CAN SIT STRAIGHT. This can is one of the very few out there that you can sit comfortably inside. All Ford Transit Connects after 2013 are not as tall. The extra head space makes it simple to do daily tasks and makes it possible to work remotely from the van if you wish to do so.
3) DRIVES AND PARKS LIKE A REGULAR CAR. If you are not used to driving a big RV, this camper van is perfect for you. It feels like you are driving a passenger car, which makes this camper van's driving experience much safer and more pleasant. Also, parking will not be a problem for you.
The walls are covered in beautiful wooden panels. Everything is organized so you feel warm and safe in there! The walls are fully insulated. The bed inside is a pull-out bed and it becomes a Twin Size BED. There is enough space for TWO People. Other details can be found below:
Electricity:
- 50W solar panel
- 240Wh Jackery Generator
- Incandescent reading light and LED strip
- 110w power outlets, and USB outlets.
Temperature:
- Fully insulated with Thinsolate
- Big Roof fan MaxxAir
- Heater (Buddy Heater)
Water
- Outdoor shower
- Outdoor sink
- 5 gallons water capacity
Cooking
- Big Pullout table
- Full outdoor kitchen
- Camping stove
- Spice rack
Bed
- Pull-out twin-size bed
- Foam mattress
Misc
- Electric scooter in the "garage"
- Roof Deck
Driving
- Easy to park and drive
- 7ft height
- Fully aerodynamic
- Easy stealth mode

I have 2011 TC XLT (all windows). I recently removed the back seats and built a little bench so I can stretch out. I am looking to make a mini-camper but for now, I am planning to extend the windshield shelf for storage. I like your ideas and the simplicity of your design choices. I appreciate your video.

Seems like your solar panel and jackery are not nearly enough for the fridge and scooter?

    • @danglyra1
      @danglyra1 8 місяців тому

the fridge had to be turned off at night, and the scooter would be charged at the place I went with it.

Great job on your conversion, Daniel. I love how you used your rear doors. Thanks for mentioning Vanly. I have a 2019 GMC Savana 2500 cargo van and I'm happy with it as far as space. It's been two years since starting van life and I am still working on getting it to fit me and my activities.

in a normal situation, I go to any bathroom around town. In emergencies, a large jar with a dog poop bag inside does the job. It's truly not as difficult as it sounds.
