The "remote port" of the Panasonic GH5 does not support focus control. It does not matter what firmware the gimbal has. Try to Google for Panasonic wired remote control options und you will find out. I don't think there will be ever another solution than the mechanical focus motor.

I saw that the Crane Plus support focus control with the GH5 by using the zoom lever. I always thought they would fix the issue but now it seems they just want me to buy more stuff. They always said the manufacturers didn't allow direct access to the focus controls over usb but since the Crane Plus CAN do it, this feels like a 300 dollar ripp off on their already 800 dollar flagship gimbal. I'm not amused.

Update Feb 2018: Follow Focus Controller (manually) doesn't work with GH5 with these firmwares 2.1 (GH5) and 1.7 (crane 2). Yes You could use it in AFC mode. But You have to press on the crane button first like on my video to make the focus. But You could put the Automatic focus video option (Set 0-5) in GH5 to automatically fixing the focus. I have to make test to see if it's very accurate. I tried the 422 10Bits 4K 30P/24P 400MB option But my sd card V30 stop at 20 sec (1GB on my disk lol) 3GB for 1 minute => 180GB for 1 Hour. And my computer (xeon E3-1505-v5 2.8Ghz - 32GB DDR4) is lagging lol For me I shoot on 4K 8Bits 60P 150MB is good for me and my computer.

Le problème est dû aux téléphones pas assez puissants. Avec la tablette Samsung Tab S2 9" aucun problème. J'ai pu aller jusqu'à 700m sans perte, je pense qu'on peut faire plus.

I've disassembled and upgraded most of my klr....tank and plastics, caliper rebuild, brake lines, clutch cable,wheels off, exhaust removed etc. Why didn't you remove your tank before this project ? (2 bolts, one vacuum line, one gas line) It looks like it could have been WAAAY easier. Anyone ?? I haven't done any engine or carb work, but it seems like you made this a little harder than need be. sorry ;)
