Hopefully you’ll see this, but what battery setup did you use? I also have an 848 that I’m trying to drop a lot of weight off. Currently at 339lbs/147hp and am planning on cutting the subframe like this, but if there’s a lighter battery option than the shorai I have, I’d love to update it! Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am following you for the mods on the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. Thank you for the great overview. One question. I’m looking for the Biltema Li Ion battery. It looks like they are not available anymore. Would you have a good alternative…?? It is OK for the size of the original battery. I am looking for the 3kg weight reduction… Thank you in advance.

Good effort and congratulations on your patience, I would have been really pissed off! Just one thing, it does look like that Ducati rear wheel has a small safety inner rim on each side to prevent a flat tyre falling into the drop centre but generally people forget that most tubed rims do not. Also anybody watching who does a bit of off-road, remember that the spokes will need periodic adjustment and then the silicone seal will be broken on the nipples. For certain tighten them to torque spec before doing this conversion and check you do them in the correct pattern, not just sequentially.

however...on the homemade risers; i wouldnt want to be doing 120kmh on a dirt road and find an unseen pothole; the reason for the machined area around the riser bolt hole on the top clamp is for the clamp assembly to have some metal to bite on > preventing the bolts from shearing off in the event of a huge whack.

  • @stevied6286

My guess is you spent huge time and modifying the wrong bike for the job..it may have been much easier modifying a decent dirt bike for the road ..Im a Ducati Scrambler sixty 2 owner and I've replaced my tyres with sports rubber, added luggage etc and ended up with a pure road bike in the style of a scrambler ..It's too heavy, too under- sprung and too pretty to be dropping in the dirt as a result of not being capable enough to start with..I'm impressed by your determination to find answers to turn a Ducati into a BMW F800GS though!! 🤣

Looks amazing, quick question, might seem like a stupid question but when you switch to high beam mine won’t stay on , only if you physically hold the little switch lever on high beam, also is there an option on the bike to put the hazard lights on? In regards to the bulb itself, if you change the bulb with a HID or LED light do you need to buy a specific bulb cover that will cover the back of the bulb to keep the water out? Thanks 🤙

You have to check 2 fuses, but before that, take about 5litres of gasoline, and pour it on the bike, and then throw a lit match on it.

Hey Man, I've watched a couple of your videos but not all. I recently purchased a new '21 Desert Sled. It's got about 1000 miles on it and I have had multiple issues with rear brake light switch. Have you had issues too? I secured mine with a shim and zip tie but then the switch quit working. I am buying a new switch and have been told by the service manager at the dealer where I bought my bike that Ducatti will most likely not cover the repair under my warranty. Any thoughts?

Surely you should have bought a single cylinder scrambler , then you wouldn't have to waste so much time and effort modifying a bike that was designed to replicate the Ducati SSC bikes of the 60s & 70s , of course it's going to be heavy it's got a big old L twin engine in it , I own a Ducati scrambler it's a great motorcycle I would ride it on dirt tracks but that's just about it .

Hej! Hittade just din kanal.

Did exactly that same modification to the rear wheel in my Africa Twin. And had to go twice to the tire shop for the very same reason you did. I think we both used 3M tape, correct? So far, no pressure loss beyond the usual one that I had before as well. Front wheel a different matter. Did not make it tubeless due to different rim shape.
