Rise - The Prediction of Everything 4K
Переглядів 8 тис.8 років тому
There are approximately one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe. Planet Earth is billions of years old. Our planet is the only astronomical object known to harbor life as we know it. The solar system is vast and complex. The chaos that emerged from the Big Bang arrived at a place of stability. Planets are in a delicate balance. Every sunset and sunrise. Every moonrise and moonse...

Kai Krause: "Create Images That Have Never Been Seen Before"
Переглядів 2,1 тис.11 років тому
Listen to Kai Krause speak about what drives him and his designs: "See what I actually tried to do. What interest me, is to make tools with which people can do images that have never been seen before. I am sort of intrigued by the notion that there are 6 Billion people out there and yet some kid can go in and do something that nobody has ever seen before."

Chinappa the Sandalwood Sign Painter
Переглядів 50 тис.15 років тому
Our friends Pam & Phil commissioned a painting from this artist in Bangalore (India). His name is Chinappa, he makes a living painting billboards and over-sized cut outs for movies. During my visit to India we stopped by his modest studio to get a preview of the painting. It turned out to be absolutely beautiful. It is based on one of their wedding shots. You can contact Chinappa through Alex a...

Amneobot live at Lightning in a Bottle 2008
Kai Krause tha goat frfr
I’d love to see the rest of this recording. Kai has Bryce running on that now-ancient CRT monitor. I recall the image that’s on his screen: a Bryce landscape where the topographic info came from a scan of a 1 dollar US bank note with the engraving of George Washington.
Buzzkill Jr?!
the future was here...for a short time at least.
The New Standard In Real-time Liquid Imaging Funware
this was before photoshop even had the liquefy tools, so we used the predecessor (power goo) for one or two pieces of actual print work. hard to imagine now.
With the new RTX 4090 and KPT bryce you can now do in near real time, what took me a whole night to render just 1 frame back in 1996.
This could easily be confused for a Tim & Eric short.
Ha! Had to look up Tim & Eric.
get out
I still have a copy 😍
Just recently discovered Bryce 1.0! Really excited, looking forward to my GTX 3090 shipping soon so I can finally do some real cool 3D stuff!
I know it’s probably sarcasm but no version of Bryce knows what a gpu is lmao
lol

"Use your own face, and goo crazy" Such a painful dad joke. I cringed.

Fascinating! Is it possible that you have or know where to get a good quality file of the full video this clip comes from?

I loved your software. I saw you present at a trade show and purchased the set right away. I wish it were still in the mix all these years later. Any possibility for an upgrade?
They should update this or make there own app.

Long long ago - in the beginning or middle of the nineties - I saw Kai Krause live at MacWorld exhebition in Frankfurt/Main operating KPT Bryce 1 on a Macintosh SE/30. Amazing show, great user interface (my colleagues were using MS DOS or WIN 3.11 at this time). Thanks to Kai Krause for his innovation, good presentation and spirit!!!
:-) Y E S ! ! ! Apple Macintosh Classic II
Wow. I still have an old Mac Laptop somewhere. Maybe it's time to bring it back to life.
I still have the original software and manual of Bryce 1.0 for Mac as a souvenir from good old times :)
But do you still have the hardware to run/install the software? ;-) That's usually the problem these days.
@@kaigradert I found the software in an abandonware website, actually the problem is running the program on a modern pc
@@pinguitopodo1 Imagine rendering a Bryce 2 project on a high end modern PC. It’ll literally take a minute whereas back then, it’s like half a day.
@@thelastdragon5551 I used virtualbox and thats what happened. Every render took like 5 minutes
@@pinguitopodo1 The struggle back then was real. I saw a demo of this software at Best Buy on their demo desktop back then. Promoting the newly powerful Intel Pentium 2 processor and they got me. Got that baby home and played around with Bryce. I would fiddle with a scene and get so ecstatic when it’s time to render. Come back 4 hours later and it’s not what I imagined. Tweaked some things around and do it again. 😂
You are welcome. Funny what one finds on old backup disks. So crude these old PR videos. High school kids make better UA-cam videos now :)

That guy was WAAYY ahead of his time...amazing UI designer! In some ways...we still haven't caught up to what he was trying to achieve. I wonder what the heck he's doing these days?? (update: he lives in Germany in a castle - but wikipedia says nothing of what he's up).

HingeHeads are so cool! I use them on my door hinges, as hood ornaments on my truck, decorations on my desk...I could go on and on! And these make GREAT stocking stuffers, white elephant gifts, birthday gifts and "thank you" gifts. Thanks!
This is so beautiful. How can I get in touch with Chinappa? I assume he does not have a website. I have been doing some creative googling trying to find him.
If you visit Gandhi Nagar in Bangalore, India, you will find this artist.
