I use Cubase Pro to do all my production and writing. I currently don't use any standard notation software. Though if I were to use one, it would be Dorico because of its close functionality with Cubase.

Minimal. To complete the production, I do compress and EQ the sax a bit and of course slap on a ton of reverb.

Thanks! The finger layout is nearly identical to the Yamaha key structure, so it feels really natural to hold. The keys do feel lighter, especially the pinky keys, and their full down termination isn't as snappy as a pad hitting a tone hole, but it translates pretty well. It has sensitivities you can adjust on the keys, so you can make it more or less sensitive. At high sensitivities, it really requires you to be precise, which is great training in itself!

For $900, I don't think there is a better horn out there. It has a balanced tone that will work well for anything. If you are looking for some extra brightness, I would buy a brighter mouthpiece, like the Burnin' for example.

@@warrensledge5909 Yes! Mouthpieces and reeds can do a lot of work for you! A Meyer style mouthpiece with a small tip opening will be pretty warm and centered, while a Jody Jazz Jet with a large tip opening will be bright and in your face. Having a selection of mouthpieces is always helpful for getting the sound you need for a specific project!

It is, but it is a different mouthpiece. The HR* is a pretty good all-arounder for Jazz, Classical or really anything you want to throw at it. It has a pretty controlled sound with a little edge. The Burnin' is a different animal. Much more character, definitely geared towards Jazz and Pop and extremely fun to play. If you like a Meyer style piece but want a brighter and more flavorful sound, it is a good choice. Different tool for a different job my friend!

Thank you! I was using the Hand Hammered Power Ring with the mouthpiece as well as D'Addario Jazz Select 3 Medium reeds. My sax is the P. Mauriat 66R. I ahve a video going over my P. Mauriat saxophones as well!
