    Thank you for the excellent video. For clarity's sake, essentially, all your adjustments have made all the suspension 'stiffer' and the ride firmer. Is that correct? The MT is my first bike with adjustable suspension, so it has been a learning curve. You are the first person I have found to use the term 'spring rate'. All other vids have used the term 'preload' for the 14mm spanner adjustment. My manual that came with the bike also says this is the 'preload' adjustment. Professor google says they are not the same thing. I understand you are not offering professional suspension advise and am grateful for your time in putting up this vid, it is much appreciated. Looking forward to a follow up if you have the time. I am an older returning rider 97kg and am not a dirt fiend and am not interested in blasting along single tracks at speed. I just want to explore. I bought the MT for its intended purpose as a 'Multi-Touring' go anywhere bike, and have found the suspension to be a bit hard as set. Others have said the same thing. I feel I would benefit from having the suspension set to soak up the hits some more on rougher roads, as that would help my rider control and comfort. But I don't want to lose road handling at speed. I don't think all buyers of the MT are ex-motocross or enduro. It is excellent that the MT has such easily adjustable suspension to make the bike truly multipurpose. But advice on how to safely get the best from these adjustments is rather lacking. Great shed setup. Cheers, Lawrie, Brisbane.

      @@lawrieyoutube4375 g’day Laurie, yes you are correct - I was adjusting preload not “spring rate” as I said in the video. My adjustments have made the ride firmer for sure. This is a work in progress as I get to know the bike and refine my preferences for the kind of riding I’ll be doing. Cheers

      Hi, my Cfmoto 450mt has reached 7000km, I'm 95kg, the spring Rate is perfekt für me and regarding the harsh damping, my suspension specialist told me to change the oil would improve the sensitivity. We will find out. I just interrested how to get the shopmanual, is there a source known? Enjoy riding as I do

  • @3GingerCats
    @3GingerCats День тому

    the only way to change spring rate is to either change the spring for one with a different rate, or change the leverage on the Wheel rate. you can't change the spring rate by putting more load on it, you just change the ride height not the spring rate. a stiffer spring can feel softer because the doesn't have to be as much preload which over-rides the amount of weight it carries, that is because you can have NO preload for the weight to overcome first! and doesn't take as much force to let movement begin.

    • @rubberneckrides5940
      @rubberneckrides5940 День тому

      Good point, I'll clarify that in future videos. Terminology can get a bit dense when talking about suspension. I’m just waiting for the comment to say it’s “damping” not “dampening” 😂

    I'm 67 years old. I haven't ridden a motorcycle since I was 18ish and then it was very little. I've never owned a motorcycle, but I have an order in for the CF Moto Beta 450. They are guessing it will be a couple of months but say its anyone guess. The shipment is supposed to be off the pacific coast waiting to be released. I am 190 LBS. The thought of doing some exploring is intriguing to me. I think the manual would be a great benefit to me as well. Thumbs up to your video. Thank you

This will be my first new bike since the Honda Navi debuted (and there were zero adjustments to be made there), and all my other bikes have been used and abused beyond most regular fixes, so I would like to at least maintain it well. I ride alone a lot. I do think a lot about what could happen to me, especially as I cross the imaginary line where cell reception ends. But if I had to organize someone to ride with all the time I would be riding a heck of a lot less, and I wouldn't always be riding where and how I want to ride. Also I like the solitude. Touch wood I haven't had any significant issues yet, but I do go as prepared as I can (wear all the gear, take a Satellite device, "try to" make wise decisions on when to turn around, bring enough snacks/water for a long walk out...). A calculated risk that is true of any solo adventure.

    20 years ago I went for a ride by myself in the hills east of perth after a few hours i found some nice tracks with a couple of decent jumps and decided to have some fun . anyway i messed up and come off broke my collar bone in a couple of spots and then had to ride home . the hardest part was getting the bike up and straight enough to ride but trying to ride rough trails one handed was fun . i should have waited another day to ride with my mates but hey you get that.

I had gone riding in just a t shirt which was now ripped and had blood on the back and side . My idicators were both snapped on the rhs and my visor on the helmet broken ... how embarrassing and a lesson learnt lol . Yep good ol days

    Hmmm... Rather than the crash bars (and their weight) I would have put money directly into superior handguards. I've not seen anyone smash up the side fairings yet (and isn't that what they're there for given they're affordable?), and plenty drop bikes onto the bars. Looking forwards to where you take this bike... Remember, it's not an enduro!

    • @rubberneckrides5940
      @rubberneckrides5940 7 днів тому

      Fair suggestion. Upper crashbars from CFMoto are only $110 AUD so theyre a bargain and weigh little. Barkbusters were always on my list but hadn't gotten around to it as yet. Ideally both would be fitted before hitting the trails.

    This bike is definetely not a FZ6N, it's a fazer that probably has been crashed and then modified to look like a naked version. Just look at those mirrors they are mounted where they shouldn't be on a proper naked version because on this bike the mirror mounts are blocked - just like on a faired fazer version. Moving on the front headlight also isn't from FZ6N, and you can clearly see the FAZER stickers on the sides. As far as performance upgrades it may be stock, but it's definetely not in condition it came from factory. And it also has a tail tidy LOL.
