Great video stupid music can't hear what you're saying
Hi Any update on the Capri.
Typical cowboy, no new gaskets, injector pipes left open for dirt to enter, did not clean the seats for injector seal washers, over tightened injector clamp bolts,
If you cut out the stupid music we might hear what you are saying
Have you programmed it to the ECU?
music to loud cant hear what your saying
Hi Could you please let me know, that am i allowed to drive a tow truck with additional tow trailer when i have a bus driving license "D". If not what license should i take for that. Thank you.
Does that ramp look super safe?
Refitting the gearbox, you put it in to 2nd gear and move the rear spline , and you'll feel it willing to slide in. Also run the engine until hot, good 10 to 15 minutes and it will release its self. That ruddy music is enough to drive a man to drink. Owned my Capri for 35 years. Now she's historic. No road tax to pay, nor need a MOT.
What what was the problem as you didnt say for sure ?
i Just purchased a siimlar van today, doesn't crank and owner says its a piston failure, so i am trying to see as much as possible on what to diagnose, this video is very helpful. thank you
So if get a tourreg or td5 that has 3.5t towing capcity does tht mean i can have a trailer/car weighing 3.5t and a loaded toureg 3.5t
I have a leak in mine, Do I need to take the rocker cover off to fix the leak or can I just replace the top seal with the 2 nuts in it, the first 1 you remove
Loved the soundtrack so i watched the whole video.
great video! wish the music was a little quieter though, do you always change the rocker gasket or is it sometimes not needed to be changed?
Easiest way free a stuck clutch tow the car around a bit really ask me how i know😁👍
Fun to watch the progress! I would drop the repetitive stock music in the background.
I'm sure it's a very helpful video, but the music is so loud I can't fucking hear anything 👍
You can tow longer trailers of they are for a special purpose i.e moving longer vehicles
Recovery vehicle doesn't need operators licence
Alright mate keep going you will get there 👍
Why music?
All things considered that looks pretty solid
Fair play to you getting under that ramp, Well done.
The old fuel in that pump. Ive never seen anything like it!
What year is this? Similar to the US one. My buddies was carbureted and a '76 2.8l
This is a 1985
My best friend had a 76 Capri with a 2.8 v6. What a ripper!!
Good work, but how the hell did u get the car up that steep ramp???
Thanks. I fitted a winch to pull the car up
I'm no structural engineer but that ramp looks flimsy, there's no way I'd be under that.
There are lots of triangles and diagonal braces, granted it’s not by any means a proper vehicle lift but it’s plenty strong enough for the weight of a capri
@@tryingstuffout1Don't worry about these kind of comments. Mostly from folks who don't know what they're talking about.
As a structural engineer I’d say the ramp looks perfectly fine to me, and I’m sure you weren’t invited underneath it 👍
They are heavy the gearbox is my aunty had a few in the 90s which I had to weld up but to be fair looks like you got a good one them 2.8i just to go well when warm never hammer them when cold they drop a piston she found that old but to buy one now is crazy money I'm looking for a 1.6 or 2.0 pinto engine Capri but I will land up with one which would want alot of welding fabrication but I've got experience now as been doing it for a job for 25 years good luck with it 👍
I feel your pain trying to fit that box
Great video but the ghastly way to loud music ruined it.
Isn’t the rules on CAT B different if you passed your test before 1997
What was the torque figure for tightening down the injector retainer bolts ? Thanks
This video could of been so good just don't do any editing to it next time
Great video, the injection head is leaking when you started it, watch your video back. All the best
Well spotted, it’s something I need to revisit but thought the video would become too long and repetitive if I went back in and dealt with it in the same episode.
I never in a million years thought it would fire,ha ha.. Thanks.
Thank you for this . appreciated top information

Great video, a lot of key info thats not so simple on to find. One question i have is, if i drive a 3.5 tonne van but occasionally tow a trailer with 2.5 tonne (6 tonne in total) do i need to use the tachograph even when im not towing or is the tacho only to be used when the vehicle plus trailer exceeds 3.5 tonne?
Thanks. When your vehicle combination is under 3,500kg it is “out of scope for tacho requirements” when you attach the trailer it is then over 3,500kg as a combination and this means it is “in scope” and you must then use the tacho. All of the above is only relevant if you are working for profit, if it’s not commercial use then you don’t need to keep any records with or without the trailer.
Im glad I watched, couldn't find a place to mount my high pressure pump lower than the tank and I saw how this one was mounted. Had 2 73 Capri's in the 80s. Wish I had one now that I know how to build engines / horsepower
Looking forward to this project, but please try to upload to carry on with project unlike some other on UA-cam’s that don’t🙏🙏
Turn that annoying music off.
My kind of ecu - a bank of 7 fuses! Oh we were blessed.
When it was trying to start when cutting out, that would be the cold start valve only. You will prob find the metering head piston is stuck or sticky. Try taking off the air pipes and manually lifting the arm up and down to clear it.
Hello pal , lovely 2.8 capri , only watched a couple of minutes I’ll watch later when I can sit down and relax and enjoy :D Hope more videos be coming soon And I see a post of this on Facebook other day u asking if anyone knows anything about the car :) I also own a 2.8 turbo I’ve just got been sitting over 30 years that’s on my channel with other projects aswell 😂😂😂😂
From factory, the fuel pump should only run on engine cranking and running. Safety device.
The idea of people knowingly leaving cars outside that seem perfectly good and worth large amounts of money seems unbelievable. It may be an aspect of dementia that no one has really investigated properly.
This one was taken off the road in 2001 and has been through at least 2 changes of owner since, it was dry stored for most of this time, it had a couple of months outside immediately before I got it due to the storage being vandalised, then a month outside when I got it before I had indoor space available. I think it would have been a lot worse if it had been outside throughout
The resurrection shuffle……luv it so much
Awesome ! Nice one mate ! Theres nothing better than hearing an engine coming back to life ! I have a black 86 special too on my channel MEC-TEC along with others if you fancy a look 👍👍👍
Great start..Good luck..
