1973 Mustang Grande - Sold!
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"
I had the immense honor of restoring and enjoying this car in my high school and early college years and also during my 30s. However the major repairs needed to the cracked engine were not worth my money and time to repair so I said goodbye.

You just made someone very happy 👍 it’s hard but the memories will live on
Thanks for putting this out. I have a 73 and will be using the info you've put out to upgrade the dim lights in my car.
Thanks for the info. 👍✌
Try to remove the pump motor with top down and change it fluid or replace the motor it might be wear out for an old fluid Just don’t fix an issue with another problem like playing on plugs / electrical stuff If the limiter wasn’t there ? One wrong move the hydraulic system will pop out
Where does it pop out. I don't see that happening.
Hey good afternoon, can i PM you regarding the issue with my top??? I'm stumped. Really in need of assistance.
Do you have other videos of the grounds? Trails, creek, etc. thanks!
I don't have any additional video footage but I got quite a few pictures I can put together in a quick video. Thanks for the suggestion!
Is there WiFi available for any of the cabins?
No, there is no Wi-Fi in any of the cabins. The only Wi-Fi available is at the check-in office in the middle of the lodge grounds. I have AT&T and cell coverage was good in the area. A little slow at times but overall good.
looks beautiful!!!! that sunrise is gorgeous
Wasn't too cold either! Really enjoyed the trip!
Is it possible to manually close the top because mine is stuck a little bit to close and it wont fully close
Unfortunately I don't think this is an option. You might try adding hydraulic fluid and then attempt to close it again. Since my cylinders were leaking this allowed me to close it. Also investigate the little pin contacts I show and pry them up to give the sensor better contact which should allow the top to close more.
It is an option. I'm an old lady and I figured it out. Remove the strut/ cylinders. They have pressure that will not allow the top to move. Then you can move it all you like!!
Yes remove the hydraulic cylinders from the frame . Unfortunately them. Then the pressure us released.
I see a piece of velcro on the end where do that go
Did that permanently fix the issue?
No. The hydraulic cylinders are the main culprit. I identified a leak on one and I will have to replace the pair. This makes sense as the vehicle is now 17 years old. I plan on purchasing a new pair since I don't want to take a gamble with used/pick a part.
@@Danielcolecowould you mind making a video when you replace them? I can’t seem to find a video online for the 05-09 mustangs for hydraulic cylinder replacement installs
@DJColeco yes please! very little information on the convertible Gen5 mustangs
What! There's 4 videos out there. Look for bleeding the system.
@@MrNerdeliciousdid you ever find a video or any info on changing the hydro cylinders on 05-09 mustangs? trying to change my pair on my 07
No leaks so far!
Did anymore water leak in after that?
No leaking so far. Fingers crossed
I doubt you’ll see this but my mustang top flew off while driving and it won’t go back on like it’s bent or something any clue what u could do other then buying a new top
Oh wow. That sounds like a big job. I researched about replacing my top solo and there's alot of stapling and layering involved. Not sure if there's an easy fix for it especially if the hardware has been bent or torn at the staples
@@Danielcoleco thank you man ahd yeah it’s bent but ima have a shop do it
Okay okay 🔥🔥
No canvas top?
No. My Grande is a restomod and hodge podge of mods I decide on at different intervals in my life since high school so I've just tried to make the best of it. Unfortunately I got a crack in my six cylinder block and the car is on stilts in my garage.
That's my song I love Armin wow ❤️
One of the best moments of my adult life, which I was able to experience with my kiddos♥️ Wishing I could turn back time, when I was younger🥰 Looking forward to your next visit to Austin, TX♥️
Me too! I had tickets to see him in Houston in Feb 2020 Balance Tour but missed it due to covid ramping up so this was an amazing long awaited experience!
What LED bulb is that and where did you get it
At the time I purchased the bulbs from superbrightleds.com but I'm sure nowadays there are many other options. The flasher is essential to avoid hyper flash.
I have a 06 gt mustang having the same problem what did you to solve the problem
For me it was a simple fix of realigning and pushing down the convertible flap drain on the passenger side. However it kept slipping back up every time I'd drop top because the top was so dried up and worn. I finally replace it a week ago after the back window came unglued.
I see a piece of velcro on the end where do that go
Did this ever fix the problem
For my purposes yes. No leaks have occured since.
Keep up the good work man
Will the top piece in the dash be close to 5”x7” so I can put a garmin gps there ? It looks like a likely place.
Very nice.
Thank you for the comment!
I appreciate people wanting to help us do things but can they get someone else to hold the camera / phone while recording? This drives me crazy wobbling all around while trying to describe what's going on. Just my 2 cents worth. And it's a guage cluster, not a console.
Yea this was from a decade ago just to get a coupon code lol. I never thought it would get this many views.
You're still using a thermo relay you need a electronic relay
Instrument cluster. Not console. Love product though.
You're correct. Thank you!
I know this is an older video but maybe somone could answer this question I just bought an led up grade kit for my 1973 mustang dash the turn signals work and the brake light work but nothing else im thinking my bulbs may be in back wards or parts of my board maybe burned out has anyone come across this before if the board has a tear will it all stop working or just portions of it?
Did you get a new circuit board? Also get all new twist sockets to hold the bulbs. If you did than maybe there's an issue with the factory harness
Thank you for sharing this, and showing the grief you ran into...
Ey you should do gameplay or vlogs that boost your channel give it a try
How much is a mustang like that how worth?
Maybe 6-8 thousand if I'm lucky.
Coleco Co so i have the same car is it possible you can make a video or help me i disconnected the hoses of the water pump and the air cleaner and don't know where they go back.
how much was your steeling wheel?
Man I don't remember I'm sorry. It's a Grant. My Dad got it for me as a Christmas present a decade ago.
Not bad. I was surprised how addicting collecting gym equipment can be lol
Ya now I just gotta use it haha
like the video. I did the same to my 73 Mach. If you wanted to make them brighter. Don't know if you did or not but if you open the gauges up there are these little green domes that's what puts off the green glow. if you remove those the light will have no filter to go through. mainly cuz the gauges them self's are metal and are not transparent so the light has to travel around the gauge
Thanks for the tip and yes I did toss those.
If you is interested in battery reconditioning the best success that ive had was with the Magic Mender Wizard (just google it) without a doubt the best course that I have ever followed.
This was very helpful. I was trying to figure out what the name was of the plastic thing and its called a circuit board haha. Thank you.
<3 rims nice cars!
@mustang0673 To get the console out is alotta work but if your car is like mine nothing is flush anymore. You have to remove the dashpad first. Then your steering wheel and any coverings along the drive shaft. Then undo all the screws around the gauge cluster and remove the speedometer cable (see below) and console circuit board connector.
Coleco Co I was able to remove my cluster without removing the steering wheel. Was plenty of room
@Nick Barnes I go the 90 degree for all the blue ones that are the backlights and the 32 degree for the focused red and green ones (turn signals and indicator lights)
Hey, I was thinking about doing this upgrade to my 72 mustang, and i was wondering for the LEDs that you got, whether to get the 90 degree beam or 32 degree beam?
hey bro how do you put the console out ? can you upload a video with the steps please :)
yahhh, true true, lots of beer, you check my video of my car, its pretty bad quality though haha
The speedometer cable is a pain in the ass. Use some needle nose pliers. Gently squeeze the plastic grommet that right against the cluster and you should be able to pull the dang thing out. I found it easiest to first remove my steering wheel, all plastic around the steering wheel column, dash, bezel and THEN the cluster. Oh you'll also need fresh screws and beer
nice vid, could you make another on how the HELL you get the damn gauge cluster OUT?!?!? i cant stand it! haha, i can get it loose from the dash but cant disconect the actual gauge plug thing in the back, can you help?
