Looks awesome, great job😂
I’m interested in what state you live in? Here in Louisiana we started planting in March. I also watch people in zone 6a and they have mature gardens. Things do look good I was just wondering cause the summer is almost over
Hi! I am in Vermont, so we do have a shorter season compared to many up here. But I should have mentioned that this was filmed in late May, and it just took me a while to edit and get it published!
Everything does look beautiful ❤ I'm not a fan of the coconut liners, even though they look great, but I had some one year and Black widows nested in them. So be careful people...sorry to seem negative but I'd rather warn people that spiders love those things
That's good to know - thank you for sharing. We are not in black widows range, but others very well may be, so watch out everyone!
Your chairs look undersized beside those planters, otherwise everything looks great
Thanks! Those chairs are just ones I had from another set I had because I wanted something there. My while budget for this project was just for plants! 😄
You should definitely keep the tubers from your begonias and caladiums, I remove mine from the soil and place them in brown paper bags. Everything looks great.
That's a great tip - I will definitely try! Thanks! 😊
Where do you put the paper bags? Cool garage, closet,…. Thanks in advance for the tip.
It looks beautiful. I just found your channel, youtube recommended. Now im a subscriber. 😊
Thank you and welcome!
You did such a great job, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Might I make a suggestion? I think your porch and steps would look striking painted the same colour as the gorgeous green trim on your house. Go bold!
Thank you! And thanks for the tip! I will definitely consider it!
@@juliainthegarden 🌹
Beautiful,good job
Thank you! 😊
Here it is a year later and we are wondering if it worked? Thanks!
I did have many fewer borers, but it was such a wet year that the plants suffered from that and there were more squash bugs! So that's why I didn't end up doing a follow up - but I do think it helps with the borers.
when will people admit the truth--you CANNOT prevent squash vine borers from killing your squash plants. you just CANNOT! they will always attack and kill. it's their nature. all these you tube videos with their home remedies are fun to watch, but they do not work.
Well, I am glad you had fun watching at least! 😂 It's funny that you commented this on my channel because I tend to approach gardening as an experiment and just share what I am doing and has worked for me. I tend to shy away from "one right way of doing things," which i think differentiates me from many other gardening channels. Of course, nothing is 100%, and there are lots of variables involved. But I learned this tip from someone else, and it did help decrease vine borer damage for me, so I thought I would share.
Oh! I like the low wide one. Great video!
Thanks! I like it too!
Thanks for the tip! I'm definitely going to do this and see if it works...new subbie here to from CT to support as well 😊
Thanks for subbing! I hope it helps!
I bet it smells amazing! Great video!
Thanks for watching!

You got it!
Thank you!! Your videos are lovely as well as informative.
You are so welcome!
Love these tours! So much blooming. Great video!
Thanks so much!
Wow you've done so much! Thank you for the tour!
Thanks for watching!
Butternut squash seems less susceptible to vine borer also.
beautiful are you still making videos? loved what you have done!
Thank you! I am still making videos. They are not all about flowers, but all the different things I do in the garden. If you liked this one, you may also like this one I did last fall - ua-cam.com/video/dpn3kLaeFyk/v-deo.html
Beautifully done! Great video!
Thank you very much!
Great tips Julia! - I love those deep dark Heucheras too. One of my favourite garden plants. I enjoyed the background music too. Thanks from Lancashire, England.
You are very welcome. Thank you for watching!
This was so relaxing, beautiful, and informational! I started a garden journal this year and actually started a tiny garden and am already thinking ahead to fall planting. Can't wait to continue watching your garden and journal updates!
Thank you for your kind comment! I am glad you enjoyed the video. Enjoy your garden!
So much color. Very crafty. Great video!
Thanks so much 😊

Thank you! Happy spring to you too!
So glad this video was recommended to me! I have been looking for ideas for my garden bujo and this is great.
I am so glad it was helpful!
Julia, Thank. you for this wonderful video. BTW What a beautiful family!!!
Thank you so much!
I hope a constructive comment, when you talk i would prefer no music or 90 % less volume. Perennial : i love golden oregano. Makes a fun moss-like dome, very good taste. Annual : basil, hands down.
Thank you for the constructive comment - that is good to know. I don't want the music to make it hard to hear. I also love basil. I will look into the golden oregano.
Dampening off is instantly stopped by garlic juice ( 2 cloves puréed into 750 ml). Indoors... well... aromatic
That is a great tip - thanks!
Never tried cumin... hmmm. So good on carot salad. Oh lemon balm is now a weed in my garden. Weeding =collecting herbal tea. Nice. I’m here after seeing your berry planting. I want to combine berries and herbs.
I agree that lemon balm is a great weed to have! And planting berries and herbs together is a great idea.
So exciting! Great video!
Thank you!!
Thank you very much 😊 I subscribed to your channel 🙏
Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Welcome! Thanks for watching.
@juliainthegarden Welcome, and thank you for well.💚🙏
I am looking at creating a gardening journal,, rather than making a quick couple of notes, that make no sense the following year. So I have spent several hours today, on UA-cam looking at how people are creating journals only to come away with belief that they have no real love of understanding of gardening. Then UA-cam offered your the flip through of your 2022 journal, at last! A true gardener. You have given me a great start to my journal for this year ( a bit late, but better late than never) I have enjoyed part one of this year's journal, so I'm off to find part two. Thank you for the help and inspiration.
Thank you for the sweet comment. It made my day. ❤️ I am so glad you found inspiration from my journal.
Zucchini boats!!! I use ground turkey, mushrooms, marinara, cheeses, and some good Italian seasonings. Scoop out the seed center, brown meat and mushrooms and combine with marinara and top with cheese. Bake until Zucchini is easily poked with a fork.
That sounds delicious! Thank you so much for sharing!
Can't wait for the Kid Garden video! :)
I'm so glad! She is super excited about the idea, too! Her birthday is a couple months away, though, so it will be a little bit. 😉
I love that you are working with a baby on your back! 👍👍
Wonderful seed selections!
Thanks! I am excited to start the garden year!
I love Baker Creek seeds great success rate!🌼🌺
And they also have a great variety of seeds!
Do you problems with field mice? One is in my house currently and has eaten a ton of my seedlings. So if you have advice on how to keep them out, I would greatly appreciate it! 🙏 THANK YOUUUU
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about your seedlings! We do have mice in the garden and sometimes in the house, but none have gotten to my seedlings yet (knock on wood!). A rabbit did get to my brassica seedlings that were hardening off on the porch one year. A couple things you could do. First, I would get and set some traps - you can find ones that catch them and then release them far away from the house if you don't want to use the killing ones. We do use killing ones, but not the snap traps - one that is supposed to be faster and more humane - honestly I make my husband deal with them... You can try to deter them with peppermint essential oil - put some on cloths or cotton balls and leave around your seedlings. Though if they found the tasty seedlings already that may not be enough. I would also try to create some sort of physical barrier around your seedlings - I am not sure what your set up is so I don't know what that would look like, but trying couldn't hurt. I would also have a look around your house for holes that the might be allowing the mice in - apparently copper mesh is the best thing to keep them out - they can get through really small holes (I think size of nickel or bigger) so it can be hard to find them. That is such a frustrating issue to have, and it is honestly why I struggle with my food storage - because I know there are mice in the best storage spaces and I don't want them getting into my food! I hope you can restart your seedlings and protect them from the mouse!
So exciting! This warmer weather has me ready to plant everything. Great video!
Thanks! I hope you can start planting soon!
I love that you do this. Very crafty. Great video!
Thank you! 😊
I loved both of your bullet garden journal videos! I appreciate that your journal is created to be used by real gardeners and isn’t just for show. It’s beautiful and functional. Thanks for the inspiration!
I am so glad you enjoyed them! Thank you for watching and for your kind comment.😊
I found your channel looking for spring planted hardy annuals. Missed my window last fall, so I’m learning. You are very informative. Hope you get more likes!
Thank you so much!
It’s beautiful! But I sure do love living in Texas, I can’t handle the cold for too long. Great video!
Thank you! I totally get that! I wish our winters were not quite so long.
@@juliainthegarden that Arctic blast got us down here. But it was all of 3 days in the teens. We are back in our normal “winter” temps.
Oh, I hope all of your plants survived the blast!
@@juliainthegarden everything got covered. I lost a few lettuce that I sowed back in early fall, which I expected wouldn’t survive. Everything else including the next round of lettuces sown survived.
Well done covering everything!
i miss the birds too
Very creative and informative! Great video!
Thanks so much, Dani! I hope you are well!
Can you do an update on the berry garden please
