Raid Trac's A1580 & 618
A buddy and I own two of these rare old machines there called Raid Trac. His is the Aluminum body 618 Model with a Honda V Twin engine. Mine is Steel Body A1580 Mode with a Kohler single cylinder engine. In this video we take them out on a chilly winter day to put mine through its paces after a break down. Enjoy and more videos and info to come on these awesome machines!

CRAZY Lightning strike in slow motion
A super Crazy awesome lightning strike i captured in slow motion. The strike was just outside Baie Verte Newfoundland taken from inside the town.
Aucun respect pour les petits arbres
I don't think you could run over any more little trees if you tried. Good job.
Thanks for your comment john. Iv gotten a few comments about the trees altho I'm not sure exactly why people are so concerned with a few scrub spruce trees???
A winch attached to the rear will be a major improvement .
This track machine needs a removable winch for the front or back just incase it falls into a deep water hole!!
Absolutely mine has a ball on the back so you can pit a removable winch on there if you wanted. Thanks for the comment.
You can't beat anything on tracks when it comes to working in the bush.Nice, handy, mechanical unit.
Yes thay are verry capable in all situation! Iv never had it fully stuck. Thanks for your comment.
Stoped watching after you ran over the tree !!!!
Sorry to here that. There are small shrub trees like this all over the forest here and you would have to walk to avoid hitting a few. These spruce trees are verry springy and usualy bounce back in the spring. And even if a few are lost it's not going to make much impact.
This thing is useless get yourself some decent tires on a 4wd vehicle way faster than this my silverado 4x4 275 all terrain dura Trac are unstoppable in snow up to the door handles
I call bullshit on this! Talk is cheap, Show us a video!
Good job dad. (and son) Cool machine.
That thing is cool 👍I love those little track snow machines with or without cab. If lived in bush I have one with cab and i put million miles on it
I'm putting a cab on mine now it's a slow process but it's getting there.
I have not seen one of these since I was a kid. This was either shot out West of it could be up around Thunder Bay. Love this big snowmobile type ride.
Thanks for your comment. Your off with the location tho lol a small handful of these rigs still are going around here in Newfoundland. Although rare sight to see. Good fun to ride around.
It's like a big nasty snowdog are you watching this Mr skebo
I have one as well....a 613....used in the bush doing firewood too.......your yellow one....drive spocket on trany too high.....if 26....go 18 tooth....Im down to 10 tooth with 8 hp.
Hey thats cool il take a look. right now mine is in storage haven had much time to work on it but i have a small diesel engine i plan on using in it eventualy.
Let me know how the diesel works out....interesting idea.
@@mikedill7378 i sure will if i get it all working il post a video of it running the engine is a single cylinder wisconson- robins diesel.
I did try a 12.5 gas Wisconson...,,,worked ok....just got tried of wrapping the rope.....had about 257 pounds of torque
@@mikedill7378 yes this diesel has a pull starter altho im not built like a brick so i deffently wont be beating my self to death trying to fight the compression. Luckey for me it is electric start or should i say it was before someone down the line lost the starter now i have to try and make somthing fit it. You wouldnt know where i could find one? Cant find anything online.
What is the difference between these n a PasseparTout?
If my resurch is correct over the years that these machines were made they made several diffrent styles and were owned by diffrent companies. These companies changed the branding they have been called passepar tout, raid trac, and play cat, when arctic cat owned them.
Looks like to me the red one has much more power.... :)
Yeah just a slight bit there Rhyan b'y lol.
Where da hell do I find one of these?? How does it steer. Clutch out or diff breaking?
Unfortunately finding one is rather difficult as far as i know theres verry few still around and even fewer in working condition. Keep your eyes on classifids pages online ya might get lucky and find one. As for steering each modle used a slightly diffrent system but works on a similar principle. So the engine has a clutch and belt just like a skidoo the secondary clutch goes into a gear box with high neutral low neutral and reverse the output of that gear box is a jack shaft with some form of disk breaks and either clutch plates as in my buddys big red one or a presure plate system in my little yellow one. When you turn the handle bars it locks the break on one side and disinguages the presure plates or clutch pack to stop one track the other keeps spinning. Il post a video soon with a detailed look at mine and how they are built and work. Thanks for ya comment.
I have one for sale in Thunder Bay Ontario
Nice......I have think the same.....1978 Raidtrac 618........( not working yet)...... What does the foot pedals do?......do they float well?....what engine size is yours.....mine had 18 HP....Tecumseh..... Putting in Kawasaki 20 HP...liquid cooled..,1999....... Any info out there?
Hey thanks for the comment. The Raidtrac belongs to my buddy. It floats realy well during our rides never got it stuck. This one has a v twin honda in it. The foot pedels work the breaks. You can call the company and order a service book from them with all you need to know about it. Also they sell replacement parts.
Lol i ment they float in snow. They make it verry clear in the manual not to go in water over 18 inches deep. You have to call and order the service manual from them directly it has all the specs along with exploded diagrams of every part along with part numbers. I can ask my buddy for the number for you to call if you want.
