Fix - Mouse Double Click Issue
Переглядів 303 тис.3 роки тому
Fixing a Logitech G203 mouse with a double-click issue. This issue arises from normal use of the mouse as the switch spring wears out and bends out of shape. This technique can be used for mice with similar switches.

Removing Crankshaft from a Cox .049 Engine
Переглядів 3,9 тис.3 роки тому
Method taken from a June 1996 Cox 1/2A Engines article under maintenance: "After removing the backplate, cylinder, and piston from the engine, insert one of the screws into the shaft as far as it will go. Place the crankcase rear-end down on a sheet of cardboard on a cement floor (cement for solid backing; cardboard so the crankcase won't be marred). Whup that puppy with a hammer until the shaf...

I just fix my mouse n 10mins. thanks a lot bro 12/6/2024
dude my lick is so good thanks
thanks
This is literally the BEST video on seeing how that copper tab goes in and how it's held in place. But... That flat copper spring tab took the better half of 2 hours to get back in and I still don't know exactly how I did it or how it stays in place, but I know it's correct because the mouse click works (thank god). I haven't had it double click yet, but I've seen multiple videos saying that small bend should fix it, so fingers crossed. I think if I was going to attempt to fix the switch again, I'd just go the extra mile and solder in a new one. That tab is just a bigger pain in the ass than it's worth and I can get a 6 pack of switches for $8 on amazon (probably way cheaper if I shop around). Moral of the story is... don't play those stupid cookie clicker style games because they destroy your switches.
thnx man!!!!
I feel like I've overestimated myself with this one... I've spent an hour trying to put the copper piece back to its place... HAHAHAHA
They can fix this in the software, should have a switch or software option to turn on "switch saver" mode. It's debounce, where they'd change the calibration of it.
i have the G305 and getting a new switch to the mouse seems to solve the issue! o/
I used to rebuild switches for Swift Microscopes and cleaning the brass curve to make better contact helps also. IF you are the type that smashed the button it is only a temporary fix since each time you bend it, it will become weaker. EXCELLENT video and great music.
I did exactly like you. I put the copper part in the exact way. It doesnt click. Idk why. What should i change now? The original problem was double click
@@FireJach you may have to try re-seating the copper piece. Sometimes if it doesn't fall in place exactly, it won't click at all
@@thiswomps352 ok, thank you :)
I tried taking apart the mouse and mouse buttons. and try bending the iron inside Especially the left mouse that has problems. I solved it and it really works. But it turns out to be the left mouse that picks up the sound instead. Really cool.
Worked like a charm. I was almost on the verge of getting a new mouse. Thanks for the video.
i take a 2hour full for that tity metal😢
Much easier to just replace the whole switch because copper piece is effed up with great propability when trying to put it back together
@YoStu242 Yes, that would be a better option if you have the means
Fixing a 5$ worth mouse with 20€ effort time.
Ok I used this method and here is some tips and feedback: 1. You need to be careful when removing the gliders beacuse you may split them. If you see a deep black you are not unsticking them. Make sure you remove them in a correct way. 2. Opening the clickbox may result a bit tricky, just focus on the edge and with something sharp pull it as seen in the video, keep in mind that you need to open the cover, not the whole box. 3. Removing and bending the copper piece is not hard, once the piece is out, clean the piece and the box with isopropyl alcohol. Now the hardest tricky part is to put the piece in his place again. I truly recommend to spray isopropyl alcohol before of pushing the little bend piece to his place. Do not push it to stronger or it will not be correctly placed and you will need to do it again. Just try the times you need and then you will achieve it. 4. This method is really useful if your mouse is really dirty, since you are opening the mouse, you can clean it thoroughly using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Isopropyl alcohol is specifically made to clean electronic components so it will not damage the mouse. 5. Taking advantage of the fact that the mouse is open, you can fix the scroll wheel problem just by cleaning it and removing hair and fibers. You can take away the scroll wheel to do it, then you just fit the wheel on his place. Another problem solved. This method can be applied to any clicks as they use the same click system (excepting the DPI button and the scroll wheel button). If your mouse is having this issue, do not hesitate, it may result complicated at the moment but then you will be proud and with a fixed mouse. Let's see how much time this fix lasts :D One week and it is still fixed!
@@Gaabrieel777 well said!
It's been three weeks and everything is working perfectly :D
It's been a month and a little more, the mouse is working as the day it was bought! ;)
I tried many methods (cleaning by alcoho, Lua script) to fix my logitech g203, but this is the best. Thanks a lot, bro.
i see good tutorial, i upvote
thankyou my mouse are already in garbage!!!
Work for me ! 😘
Best video ever! I threw away 2 mice in the last 2 days. Was about to throw out my third one today, but your video saved the life if the third mouse. Thanks for saving this mouse's life!!
I was going to buy a new mouse 'coz of this annoying double click. You're my hero, thank you!
Hye, how long it can be last after bending that switch?
@@maznim1268 I'm not sure, I changed to a wireless mouse, but the fix worked for the next 2 years I had the mouse

Sept-2024. Thanks a lot for saving me from buying a new mouse. I am loyal customer of Logitech G series and repaired my G300s watching this video. Its working perfectly now!
fixed my mice 4th time lol this vid always help <3
lol thank you so much, i was just like fuck it and follow this step and it actually worked again. tested it on double click test site and after like 300 click there's not a single double click anymore. bless you man
Thank you so much for this video. It actually shows what to do for each part. I used this for my G602 and forgot to save it... thought I was going to tear my hair out until I found it again. This fix lasts for about two years before it needs to be repeated. I have to actually bend the spring inwards to get it to go back in place, and I clean it with electronic contact cleaner. It's tricky on the G602 left-click since there's a bunch of "stuff" on either side of the switch. I found it's easiest to face the left side of the mouse towards you, even though it feels wrong. Then get your grippiest tweezers (I just used regular slanted eyebrow-pluckin' tweezers lmao) and grip the front side of the spring, but at a corner. Then gently position it on the front and back side at the same time, approaching from the right side of the mouse. Use a smaller pair of tweezers or a toothpick to press the middle part down. I insert the white button into the switch cover with pointed tweezers and put a piece of tape on the top to keep it in place before putting it back.
thanks bro i never thought this is gonna work but it did now thank a lot, now i dun have to spend another 20$ to get a new mouse
Thanks! Especially for the high-resolution details 👍
best mouse fixing tutorial yet👍
I am so unbelievably proud of myself for pulling this off. Thank you so much!
@alexianluqman6275 you should be!
Welp I only managed to make the click worse. Guess i'm off to eBay to buy another part.
@@AnarickTheDevil it was worth a try
@@thiswomps352 And my backup mouse just started doing the double click thing.
Thanks a lot !!! you saved me ! I followed your video and fixed the mouse !
Thanks!
Bending it made it stop clicking, so I needed to desolder and solder in a clicker from a donor mouse. I would not recommend this.
will this fix model o minus too?
@@everchann I believe that uses the same style of switch. It may be worth it to open the mouse and see
thx
before doing it yourself keep in mind that those parts are very very tiny, i struggled for over 1h to put the copper thing back in place with my shaky ass hands. Also, probably my fault but after assembling it back, the click got way quieter.
Your copper thing is so big broo, why is mine sooo tiny. Okay i finally fixed it thx bro for u help.. my copper was very small compared to urs took me an hour to put it but I fixed it
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Saved me some hard earned money. lol
I love u
Thank you very much! It saved my G502! I had a problem not with dirty contact, but with weak contact tension.
This solved my problem, thank you.
