i struggle to understand how AWD drifts, does it know you're trying to drift and it cuts power to the front wheels?
Yes kind of your right. So with the Porsche Traction Management you get more power to the rear wheels while turning into a corner. That makes it easy to initiate the drift. To hold the drift you have to hold the wheel straight or turn into the corner again to build up more angle. If you countersteer you get more power on the front wheels which would stabilize the car. So it's important to know your steering wheel position to be successful at drifting with an AWD Porsche.
@@chris.gruber do you put it in a special mode to do this? if it does this all the time a novice driver will crash in the rain coming out of a turn
Yes I drove with PSM off and manual transmission mode. You need the settings for drifting.

Mein Liebling ist und bleibt ein Enzo! Der letzte wirkliche Ferrari ach ich bin 10 Wochen im Jahr in Saint Tropez, da sieht man öfter solche Teile. Der LaFerrari ist aber bei weitem nicht so wertvoll, wie der Enzo. Keine will diese E Scheiß haben und ich kann es verstehen. Aber ein schönes Video! Die wenigsten bringen seine Sicht und um das geht es, es ist Deine Sicht auf den Punkt!

The screaming banshee of Le Mans. Der 787b ist einfach eine Höllenmaschine. Hab ihn sogar anfassen dürfen. 😅 Emotionen pur. Vor Le Mans hatte ich sogar Volker Weidler besucht und mit ihn ein Raceplausch gehalten. Nur die Fahrerparade, Streckenlauf und Ehrenvorstellung der Autos hätte etwas besser koordiniert sein sollen. Das war ein irres gehetze. 🤪 🏃♂️↔️ Ab 8.6.24 dann wieder dabei. 🏁

I never thought it was possible to drift in a 911 turbo. Is there a drift mode, the same as in Audi and Merc?
No there is no special drift mode. It is basically possible to drift any AWD car, but it differs from RWD. With a Porsche you have to increase the steering angle to transfer more driving force to the rear wheels.
