Hey, you board gaming people, we are focused more on competitive play or consistent playthrough of games. You may find we stream the same game for months or that we host tournaments, and that is the goal. We like sticking to good games and understanding them more and more.

Hoplomachus Remastered Pandemonium 1v1v1 Highlights
Excellent presentation and pace. I really liked how you had your noob perspective of not understanding certain reasons for details, which was slowly revealed over time. The hidden commands especially makes this unique.
Its funny you had that experience... my gaming group has played 6+ games of war room and allies have only won 1 time. That being said most all ww2 based games are inherently inbalanced for allies to win. Historically there was a huge imbalance. Great game.
Watched several of your plays now. Were you play GT and "hate" them. I've never seen you use summon or evoke. Isn't that GT's secret sauce? Getting more units out promoted with summon. Thanks for all the Cloudspire content.
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here - this is the war room!
you will stand so long you wont be able to fight in the war room
@@mortalcompass5229 I play CoH standing up unless you have a perfect height chair and table setup, like a barstool height.
Great review, such high praise!
Had an Eye on this Table Hawk for a long time. Unfortunately missed that 2nd Edition KS and now it’s hard to get over here in Germany. Maybe I am lucky someday and I will find it in the "No Shipping Auction List" for Spiel, or if I am even more lucky and í´ll be able to visit the states for GenCon and purchase it there.
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
You should play Gloomhaven if you think this game is repetitive 😂
@@sotanoludico I did see the gloomhaven review
Are you getting the Harbinger content?
I was to late for the 2. Edition ks. Bought 1. Edition used. Can someone share files for me to DIY upgrade?
@@denisjalusic1504 the problem isn't the updated cards it's also the map that you need updated.
@mortalcompass5229 I can update the map with 3d printed stuff. Is it really such a big deal? I mean the changes on the map?
@denisjalusic1504 that will be your call. In my experience without the map 2.0 is half the game
Hey, where did you get the sleeves for the faction boards?
This is a great game. I would be very willing to bet you got the new box and three new factions. Be well.
@@sirtrevis not the new box but I got the 3 factions on the last day. This game is such a steep learning curve
I agree with you. For me, shorter campaigns with revised structure (no need of this act system, make me fight primuses when I want), make 2 blanks be a hit (heroes will never make 0 dmg, so worth deploying), make the scion matter more throughout your campaign.
Just got game and kids immediately asked where the spore miniatures after watching play thrus. Guess I’m in the market.
I agree. I am a heavy solo gamer (wargames are my specialty) and burncycle is very quickly becoming one of my favorites. It shines as a solo game. I think 2-player would also be very enjoyable, but I would hesitate to play 3-4 player. I play Mage Knight, TMB, Hoplomachus, Fields of Fire and various other wargames solo. My gaming group loves TMB and we will start playing Root soon. Any recommendations for a solo player?
Thanks for the review! I have everything for TMB, and I have played Undertow and Unbreakable (not the original base game though). I must say, I enjoy Undertow more than Unbreakable. The Undertow characters are more fun in my opinion. They feel more well rounded, especially Stanza and Duster. (Ghillie is overpowered in my opinion, and Nugget is pretty but weak/boring???) Unbreakable bosses feel like a drag. CTG tries to make Unbreakable harder with a lot of extra annoying rules. After playing the included characters in the Unbreakable box, my interest dwindled and have difficulty tryiing out the other 3 new expansion characters, sigh.... Now Cloudspire is on its 3rd round. I have difficulty deciding if I should back it. I am worried that it would turn out like Unbreakable. Difficulty beefed up with a bunch of annoying rules that are not fun.
I have 40 plays under my belt at 1-2p. This is a great lifestyle game. 20 plays is definitely enough to review. I love the network integration unlike most people.
Do you still feel the need to refer to the rules after 40 plays?
Dont the books have exclusive scenarios like bonus solo missions and skirmish missions? Hardly just lore. F seems a bit harsh.
@@UofTguy not that I'm aware of. I think they have bonus lore and artwork. But not scenarios. I don't do lore, hence why I put it so low.
Ankar's Plunder book has some solo/coop/skirmish scenarios that aren't included in the normal expansion content. I don't own it so I don't know how many extra scenarios it provides. The first hardcover book didn't contain any new scenarios.
Appreciate this review, thank you
Thanks for watching it
For those who want to enjoy 2 player can play this like Catan dice version. One both players finsh their game you can compare the score. Even if you loose before getting to pirate cards comparing scores will still make one of the player winner. Personally for me this is like chess/checkers of solo board game.Never gets old and no need of fancy expansions. ENJOY !!
I’d recommend making the background music quieter or none at all.
@@iggyblog284 thanks for the input. How bad was the music in the newer videos.
@@mortalcompass5229 Not sure, most solo board game videos I’ve watched don’t use any music so everything is easy to hear and understand, especially if someone likes to listen to the video at double speed. One video I really like is the Friday Playthrough by Rahdo.
@@iggyblog284 gotcha. Thanks for the heads up
These reviews are top notch! Helping me out a lot as a Cloudspire newbie
@@Judgegyd3 thanks. Hope they help everyone out with this good game.
Thank you for the video
I was struggling with this TTS Mod, since i Rarely use it, so I appreciate this video Just bought Hoplomachus Victorum and looking forward to plauying licve and using TTS
To clarify this problem only applies for the 1st edition all-wooden sticks which had wooden heads that were glued on (the "big box" means 1st edition Jumbo Expansion Pack). We didn't realize the glue the factory used was not consistently applied until after release, so we revised the design. The 2nd Edition Staves (the ones now on sale in packs of 2) have a plastic head attached with screw that snaps on and does not fall off.
Good stuff!
War Room is one of my favourite strategy games, played it three times. Time flies when we play, so emersive is this game. Finding players is a bit difficult, most people in our group like to play the main stream Eurogames.
Have you integrated remastered into victorum?
I’m playing my first 2 v 2 game this coming weekend. USSR + USA. V Wehrmacht +OKW. Playing Cologne scenario. I cannot wait until my 2nd edition all in pledge arrives.
Agreed this game is gonna kick ass
Question, I read that you use blue or red chips to track health of units. What do you do for Pandemonium with three or four players? Does it come with more different colored chips?
Nice!
You play Kardz?
Looks solid, seems different to many games I've watched which is good.
I've had war room for a couple years and have never got it to the table got close, thinking I might give it a crack by myself like you did. I like the aesthetics here better than axis, but I also love the miniatures for axis, both have there pros.
It's not bad playing by yourself just need to forget what other faction movements were
@@mortalcompass5229 yeah I could imagine that takes a significant part out of the game, the bidding would be hard as well.
Thanks for the breakdown, your videos made me save money by not buying expansions that are semi-wasted for solo play (which I almost exclusively do)
Good to hear. Remember it's just my experience and I can't wait for the new expansions coming out soon.
Cannot wait to see one of these for CoH 2E
Have you tried the pvp skirmishes from the ankar's plunder booklet (the soft cover w/o lore)?
Yeah, I played 2 of the scenarios. Very fun but not balanced if not playing with the recommend factions. It was still fun.
47:00 start of 2nd game
Dude, you serious? Thank you for the review. Sarcasm. The game is awesome.
Thanks for watching. And it was great the first 2 full playthrough but after became more a struggle to dive into. How many full campaign playthroughs have you played?
Did you play by yourself?
Damn I changed in one year almost no profanity now xD Nice! Happy I made you laugh 😂
I would not waist time showing the moving of forces and such, but you need to narrate whats going on and the big picture so people can keep up with the situation. Also, add drama for example before a massive naval battle, show the units on the map and battle board so people get vested in the battle. I, too, love this game vs A and A, but A and A has such a bigger presence. Have you watched the A and A tournament videos from board game nation. Its amazing and captivating because they show you the big picture...make sure you copy that.. Good luck....I will be watching. Also, turn down the music.
Thank you, I'm an amateur to this and all feedback helps. where can i find this A&A tournament video?
Just show the units in an area before and after battles.
You got the majority votes and I will incorporate that style. I did want to at least in the first Rd show what a battle process looked like in action
I do want this game thanks for sharing
Thanks for the visit
I picked up Red strike. It's beast
Never heard of it. looked it up and man this game looks very heavy
@@mortalcompass5229 it is gotta plan a vacation or a 3 day weekend
Didn't you forget to apply campfire? because the minius of one of the factions were dead, leaving the all heroes inactive

@@Madden2k Same in first round ;)
A very good comment. Thank you. I love this game but I have played it only a few times. May be I would change my opinion after 20 games.
Hey friend, do you think you’ll be doing any more CoH videos before fulfillment of the kickstarter? I enjoyed this one and your others. You still playing the game? I’m curious what your thoughts are now that all this time has passed. Cheers!
its not a 4x without the expansion imho. I actually wish there was more exploration features still.
I have a feeling the recently announced 2024 gencon expansion will add more legendary planets and Relics and exploration/frontier card. It will probably also include all the codex content.
2 plays down. One more and I can finally call myself a real board gamer. Do I get a certificate or a secret decoder ring? lol
1. Rule about boardgame club is we don't talk about boardgame club
Thank you for a clear review. I appreciate you're doing reviews after 20+ plays. You give a clear explanation of why you like or don't like certain aspects of a game which is valuable for me as a viewer. May I ask, if you had the reference card from the very start, would your overall rating be higher? I ask as I have the impression that the main issue seems the learning curve and the fact that the flowcharts would (partially) alleviate that.
That's a great question and made me think a bit. No it wouldnt have changed it because after your 10th game it is not needed really, but the game itself still has the mentioned problems. It's not a bad solo game but not a great multiplayer game
