FMA is quite popular. The Brotherhood version (which is the most recent) is the most popular because it is the original one that tells the story that the author wrote until the end of the manga. FMA: Brotherhood was considered by many people to be the best anime of all time for many, many years. The 2003 version of FMA (the one you saw) diverges from the author's original story because the anime was ahead of the manga's publication at the time. For this reason, FMA: Brotherhood was released in 2009 to tell the story as it is in the manga. A cool curiosity is that the manga was written by a woman. However, since it is an old anime, it does not have the same engagement as recent anime, so you will not get many views, except for a few key episodes. But FMA: Brotherhood is an anime that deserves to be watched.

About your concerns: -at the time Ishida made his infiltration plan he didnt know that Ywach could see the future. -also yes the allmighty allows its user to see the future, but how far in the future is the real question -Remember in cour 2 Ywach implied that he made Uryu his successor because Uryuu survived the Asuwalen (which took ichigo's mom powers and seemingly killed Uryu's mom). Which means Uryu is a kind of special case for the sole fact that he survived. But with this flashback we can actually see him collapsing while his mother is standing. An dhe told ichigo that only he (uryu) can beat ywach because of the blood inherited by his moter and his grandfather. Which means the reason why he is special is tied to both his mom and his grandfather (It's very interesting because even us manga readers don't actually know) Btw i really like your reactions.
