Looking back at the Rent-A-Mac’s! NS’s Power Shortage Solution
In early 2023 Norfolk Southern received their first couple SD70MAC’s from Wells Fargo Rail or WFRX for short. These where to be on a short term lease to NS for the locomotive power shortage due to many Dash-9’s being put into storage awaiting rebuilding to new AC44C6M’s.

I saw this locomotive this evening. It’s currently assigned to the Coast Starlight.
Why are rail ties everywhere in the state on the train track Rocks?
Ties transfer loads to the track ballast and subgrade, hold the rails upright and keep them spaced to the correct gauge
I saw 4 of them being taken to somewhere back in 2024
