This was so much fun. I was really tore up by the end of the day. So happy we did this ❤
The way my heart jumped for JOY when you said you didnt want to go out and we could just stay in lolol. Girl I was sooooooo happy lololol
You filmed wayyyyyyy more than I thought you did lol I’m impressed. I couldn’t even tell you were filming 😂
My camera bro. EATS. I love it, it’s so discreet. I was tired of my cannon M50 because wayyyyy to many people would ask me to put it away and ect, so the new one is perfect it looks like im just holding a weird gadget or a microphone lol
I feel like I would like the Ripped Bodice store 💗 loving the content!!!!
You would! Lol you like pink more than me because you actually wear pink. Our next trip needs to be in NYC. 🗽 I will take you there. 😇
Loved this!!! How many tote bags do you own? Lol
Wayyyyy to many to count. But i just love them! They are so convenient lol
Why are traveling by yourself? It’s always best to travel with someone or a group
I travel alone mostly because I honestly enjoy my own company. The second reason usually is my interests are the same as others. I try to plan group trips, but usually they never make it out the group chat, so I just started going alone. I have been on more group trips though now more than ever, but its mostly because of this channel. My family and friends who want to travel typically invite me because they know im down to go on a trip, so i would say now im more of a 60/40 type of traveler. 60% i do alone and 40% i do with my friends and family (including my son)
@@TaylorsJourney oooo okay, I’m looking to explore ALL of South America summer ‘25

Thank you so much! I am happy you enjoyed this video. 😇
( I ask because you have quite a ' considered ', very analytical commentary ). Firstly, the church is St. Giles. Taylor? Are you an academic/ writer?
Thank you, you are so kind! I write for my work a lot. For my day job I work in academic research, so it requires tons of writing. This is such a nice compliment. You have made my day. ❤
@@TaylorsJourney I K.N.E.W. you were academic bright!!!! Your intelligence just pours-out of your eyes!!
@@kyukitoomgosh thank you! 🙏 like i hardly get this. Are you in academia as well? Usually the people that notice work in a similar field. 😊
Id love to visit, can't wait, after today I'm seriously considering my options for moving to another country. But gotta start with a visit.
I am currently writing this from London, so I TOTALLY understand you! First please take care of yourself and your mental health. This election has been a lot to process. I feel you and im right there with you. If you are considering planning a trip to Scotland, you should totally go and experience it. I truly enjoyed my time, so much so, I will be back next month for a week. The UK is an amazing destination and very inclusive which is a breath of fresh air in the current American political climate. I do hope you make the trip and before you do, please review the comment section of this video. So many native people gave tonnnnssss of recommendations for things to do when visiting. Not just Edinburgh but other areas as well. Best of luck to you and your travels! Have a beautiful day. 🖤
Always have to mention color and race your people
Hi thank you for your comment! I can tell you’re new here. I title my video this way for SEO purposes. Being that I am a black solo female traveler. ✈️ I don’t focus on race or ethnicity in the video.
Love the honesty and authenticity! Life has its ups and downs, appreciate the life update!
Scooter is so good with Leo! Lol and everyone’s hair in this vlog was beautiful. Really enjoyed this ❤
Leo LOVES Scooter. He really is such a sweetheart with him. Thank you on our hair compliment! I actually smiled. That really warmed my heart. Thank you Tre, I am so glad you enjoyed this! Next week’s video will be more busy. With things outside of books lol
I am curious about your bookstore visits. Did you notice a greater range of topics in the non-fiction section and more daring fiction storylines that you wouldn't see in the US?
So the bookstores are a little tricky in Switzerland because the main language is not english. The selection I could pick from was limited. It definitely was diverse and I was able to find something, but the airport and train stations had the best selections in my opinion. The books weren’t books i couldnt find in the states. The covers though were different. If you are looking for a more expansive selection and diverse titles and larger volume of work that you cant find in the States. I recommend the UK. They publish way more books per capita than the states. Also everything is in English so You won’t have to worry about any language barriers
Loved it😊😊
Thank you Grandma! Love you too! 🖤
Nice video...besides a good market, I love a bookstore too. Also thank you for addressing the negativity, I found a lot of what you said is true here in Spain too.
No problem at all, I definitely feel it is important to illustrate and address cultural differences. Especially if a person plans on traveling in a group. I think it is important to know what to expect beforehand. Just to best know how to navigate around the differences. I feel like if I would have known exactly what to expect, I would have came to France a lot sooner. Once i came across differences, i wouldn’t have internalized them. Thank you for sharing this about Spain! I was so close to going to Barcelona on this trip, but I fell in love with Nice, I was like I will go there next year or the year after. This is so good to know for me to plan ahead of time so thank you for sharing so i know what to expect. This helps me have a beautiful experience despite the difference in culture. Thank you for finding my little corner of the internet and commenting! It truly makes my day and keeps me motivated to keep making content. I hope to see you again! 💋

Hi!this couldn’t have come at a better time, I’m a black single mama who’s planning to bring my mixed race toddler to Edinburgh. I’ll be travelling just the two of us and was soo worried about travelling. I’m planning a day trip with my daughter who’ll be 18months when we come to Edinburgh in April 25, I was wondering if Scotland is easy to travel around via public transports. I’m planning on getting the coach from London, arriving early morning. First stop getting breakfast at going to Calton Hill, then strolling through the town before heading to the zoo then back to the city for ice cream and dinner before our coach back to London at 9:30pm If you have any other child/toddler friendly ideas I’d love to hear!
I am actually going back before your visit in April! I am going to be spending Christmas there and I am bringing my son with me this time! It will just be me and him! So I will have a much more robust answer in a couple of months. In the meantime, Edinburgh transport system is pretty easy to navigate. I think a big thing that helps is the fact it is in English. lol Most Museums in the UK are free, so you can go to any museum you want free of charge. My comment section in this video has soooooooo many gems. The Scottish people in my comment section have gone above and beyond to open up their home to me. If you have time I would totally scroll through. I am building my itinerary the next time I am there off their recommendations. Lastly, the thing to keep in mind. Edinburgh is HILLLLLYYYY. I would totally recommend a stroller to make things easier. I know as a solo traveler, traveling with a stroller and a baby can be a little tough, but if you are only traveling to Edinburgh and going no where else, I would totally travel with one. I would try to purchase the lightest stroller you can find. Just so its one that can easily collapse and go through public transport. Something like this: www.kolcraft.com/product/kolcraft-cloud-umbrella-stroller/ Your little one might not be able to withstand the hills if she has to walk without a stroller, and you might be too tired to carry her. Also a thing that helps is to plan your trip beforehand. So you arent walking up and down hill, multiple times a day. It helps to do everything up hill at first then move to down hill. There are also some areas that have a lot of steps as the fastest route, so it might not be as walkable with a stroller, so a light weight one is super helpful in case no one is around to help you can easily collapse it and carry the stroller and the baby down the steps. I hope this helps! I can try to follow-up once I go with my son for a more kid-friendly experience! I hope you enjoy Edinburgh as much as I did! Thank you for commenting and finding my side of the internet.
Its so disappointing that visitors to Scotland and Edinburgh are not more adventurous with their food choices. A burger fries seem to be the go to, which you can get all over the world. The food in Scotland is excellent, by and large, with cosmopolitan varieties of cuisine.
This feedback is super fair! I will be back in December, do you have any recommendations for Edinburgh? I feel like i have gotten so many recommendations for things to do and bookstores, but I haven’t gotten food recommendations. Outside of needing to try the tap water. Lol so i am totally down to experience authentic Scottish cuisine. Give me a couple recommendations and i will try to get one on camera 🥰
Awesome 👏 travel vlog Taylor! Nice looks like an amazing spot! I watched most of the vlog the other day, me and my wife are big into travelling 🧳. We want to go to Europe 2025.
Omgosh you will LOVE Europe. Is there any place in particular you are thinking about visiting? If you have time I would take a week-two weeks if your schedule permits and try to visit 2-3 countries. Since Europe is so interconnected you can do so much if you plan it right, and not feel overwhelmed. If you are a slow traveler though I also think this is a great amount of time to thoroughly enjoy one country or major city. Some trips I visit many countries at once and some trips like this one I stayed in one country but went to two cities: Nice and Paris. Both have their pros and cons. Nonetheless, I do hope you and your wife have a beautiful time. Thank you so much for commenting and finding my little corner of the internet!
This is a cool take and one of many reasons why I pour over videos like this...to compared other peoples experiences, to mine. I was in the Marines in my early days, the 80's, and went to countless countries. Combined with being a major airline employee of almost 28 years, I have literally covered this entire planet through my travels...no exaggeration! I have experienced racism from time to time, any and everywhere. It simply exists within some people and there's just no getting around it. People will be people, it is what it is...just keep it moving and don't give it the time of day, is my best advice. I've been through Scotland pretty well over the past years, even Edinburgh. It's been a good while though, 2004/2005, so I'm planning to get back this month (October), for a refresher of sorts. lol. So thanks for your video/perspective, very cool take. 👍
Your life sounds literally like my dream life! I bet you have felt like you have lived several lifetimes. I am so happy you have got to experience the world and thank you for your kind words! Have you ever been to italy? That is my next new country I will be visiting and if you have can you provide any recommendations. I will be staying in Lecco, and flying into Milan, I think realistically I can visit Milan or Rome. Not both. If you have been to either please let me know which one you suggest as my first time visiting. Thank you for finding my little corner of the internet! I do hope you enjoy it here. You definitely brightened my day with your kind words.
@@TaylorsJourney Thanks for your kindness, and yes, at least 3 or 4 lifetimes...LOL. It's been a great 58 years so far, truly thankful for every one of them! My first trip to Italy was in 1987, as a young Marine. Naples, Palermo and Sigonella. Over the last 15 years, add Venice, Rimini, Bologna, Milan, Paris, Rome and Como...so yes I've been to Italy. 😅 You've picked an amazing place to stay. I've never been to Lecco but having been in and around Lake Como, of course I've heard all about it. As for Rome or Milan, both will definitely keep you busy. Really, it depends on the purpose of the trip/visit. Rome is a huge tourism spot, probably more so than Milan and is just bigger. Both have great architecture, museums and food, of course. Milan however, is in my opinion, just a tad more laid back and luxurious in it's vibe so with that it's probably going to cost a bit more for accommodations...but also worth it. Since you're staying in Lecco, Milan is definitely closer but Rome is pretty much a "must see" type of destination. Rome has a more crazy nightlife though I feel that is not your 'jam.' But, it also has more history and art, which I feel gives it the slight advantage when it comes to one of your fav things...BOOKS! And how EPIC would a train ride be, through the countryside from Milan to Rome. 👍 (I'm really not helping to make this decision any easier, my bad. lol) In either case though, you can't go wrong. No matter which city you pick, it's sure to be an amazing trip. 💖
@@tima.478 Oh wow, Thank you so much for this feedback! I apologize for the delay, my actual day job has been very, VERY busy. But omgosh.. you are right both of these destinations sound perfect. I was almost set on Milan based on your recommendation until you mentioned Rome has the advantage with books. That makes the decision difficult to make. My little sister is supposed to be celebrating her birthday in Paris, which is why I have to pick one or the other, but her plans haven't been set in stone. In the event she doesn't go. I think I will pick both. The train ride idea sounds amazing because my little one lovesssss trains. I will keep you posted on what ends up happening. Nonetheless, whether I go to both this year, I will definitely try to see them both at some point in my lifetime especially with Rome being a must see like you recommended. Thank you so much for providing this information! I am so so sooo grateful and thank you for your patience while I was took a while to respond.
@@TaylorsJourney You're very welcome and no problem, just glad I could help...even If it was to *help* make the decision less easy! LOL Like you said, will be an epic trip no matter what. 💖 Nothing ventured, nothing gained... ✌

Belle video, merci! I am rather jealous, wish I were there...
You and me both!! lol I am back in Atlanta and as i edit these videos I feel like it was all a fever dream. I totally will go back! It sounds like you know a little French, so I truly hope you go! The city I was in, is called Nice. Despite its beaches being to die for it is most notably know for its art. There are many art museums there if you are interested in the arts in addition to the beach. 🖤
And can you please tell me exactly where you have been, beautiful.
Welcome to our little corner of the internet, so glad you stumbled into my space! I just recently have gotten into travel. I started in March of 2023. For this video in particular, this is part of my France series. The places I went was Paris, Nice, and Versailles. Honestly, I loved every single city. All were different. I offered different vibes. All were beautiful and rich with history and culture. I usually spend most of my travel time in the UK. I frequent London 3-4 times a year. My favorite country is Scotland. The people are what make this country my favorite, but my favorite city Hands Down is London (in Europe). NYC is my favorite city on earth. I am an American to my core. lol Nothing tops NYC. This Fall/Winter I have Japan and Italy entering the chat of my travel plans. So more is coming. I have been more places but I feel this comment is getting far too long, but I think if you stay here and come by to my corner every now and then. I think you will have a good time.
What music is this please.
Whenever I get this comment it is truly music to my ears, so thank you for this. Songs in order occurrence: 1. The Memory of Strangers by Yonder Dale (My personal favorite on this vlog) 2. A Young Boy's Folly by Jon Bjork 3. Holding on to Hope by Megan Wofford (this is also the outro song) If you are into this vibe of music, I recommend my Edinburgh videos, London Videos, and Switzerland Videos. There soundtracks are similar. Have a great day!
Not you popping up on my feed 😍❤️ love to see it !

Hey lady…. Glad to hear you’re still hanging in there. Keep pushing
Girl thank you! How have you been!!!
Lov this vlog! Would you recommend google maps for getting around on the trains? Also when at the airport are trains constantly running? I’m flying into Zurich and want to take the train to lauterbrunnen
Thank you for your comment! I am an apple user so I use apple maps but i think it is pretty similar to google maps so you should be fine! In Switzerland some of the trains are not 24 hours. I would purchase your ticket in advance if you are flying into one city and taking the train to another, look online to see the times trains run from zurich to your final destination. If you arrive in Zurich late you may have to wait to the next morning to take a train to your final destination. I have a video called navigating public transportation if you are interested on the fine details. Best of luck to you and I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL trip. ❤

Since you are an english speaker, public transport, ubers, and anything that requires directions and navigation will not be difficult. Amsterdam though, SLAPS. The food is great, the people are amazing, it is super safe. There are manyyyyy things to do outside of nightlife and the RED light district, but if that is your vibe you will also have fun in the night life. I went there this time last year and it was one of my favorite trips to date. I think both trips are different vibes but equally fun. Please let me know what you choose! If you go to Amsterdam the best fish and chips that I have had in the whole of Europe is located at the establishment Food Hallen (food hall) called the Butcher. SOOOOOOOO goood. They also have sooo much to eat and do inside of Food Hallen.
@@TaylorsJourney I highly appreciate your feedback and advisement. I’ll look out for these places when I get there. I made a trip to Grenada recently and it was my first time traveling since 2002, I was scared out of my mind on the flight. I’m working on that anxiety then I’ll venture further. Hope you’re having a wonderful week! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@slimchick2689 Believe it or not, I was the EXACT same way two years ago. I never ever planned on flying over water just the thought terrified me! If I can offer any advice overcoming that, I would suggest taking night flights. The later the flight the better. If you can swing a 9, 10, or even 11pm. This way you will naturally be tired and youll sleep through the flight journey. ❤
@@TaylorsJourney Oh thank you for this. Definitely trying a night flight next time. 🙌🏽🙏🏾❤️❤️
This was great! I felt like I was there and loved the quality of the story telling. You are gifted! Love you! #americassupermom
Thank you mommy! That is so sweet!! 💘
Very informative and definitely explains how travel is possible. Loved it! #americassupermom ❤
Mom youre sweet! Thank you so much, i really hope so because i wasnt able to spend as much time on the video as i liked
So chuffed you loved our incredible city. Oh and our Tap water is better than any of the bottle stuff. Please try when you return. Haste ye back soon. Safe travels 🏴❤️
The tap water will be the first thing I try and I can't wait! December can't come fast enough me and my little one are tentatively planning to spend Christmas there. 🥰

@@TaylorsJourney your welcomee!! just catching up on the vidss 🙈
@@DaniFilms._girl there are soooo many lolol and theyve gotten longer with time thats why it takes me hoursss to edit lol
@@TaylorsJourney yeah i see that😂😂
As for the paperback books, we all travel a lot here as Europe is so accessible, they are just lighter!
Oooh you’ll get the Princes st Christmas market when you come back hopefully! It’s so nice.
I am so so sooooooooooo Excited to spend Christmas there with my little baby boy! I hope it is a memory I will cherish forever. ❤
Londoner here 👋🏾 Glad you enjoyed the city. London is truly magical. A few friends and I went to Notting Hill carnival yesterday after a long hiatus. Fell in love with our city all over again ❤️
Just came back from Porto, Portugal. The steep hills in Edinburgh are piece of cake compared to Porto and Lisbon 😄
I am watching a travel video on libson now! I had no idea how pretty portugal is. Its definitely on my list for travel next year because its gorgeoussss
I am so glad to have found your channel ☺️ . Now, it is time for me to plan my trip.
I am so glad to have you here on my corner of the internet! If you enjoyed Paris my Nice vlogs are next and they are a realllll treat. 💖
The Lourve... The Louvre ;-)
I was shooting myself in the foot for not catching this sooner. My editing software does not have autocorrect which is something I am embarrassingly completely reliant on. I now take more time to manually spellcheck all of my lower thirds (text on screen). 😓
Note, “Get skip the line tickets for the Louvre.”. Got it, thank you!
Yes! Please!!! I just randomly booked it because it was the only tour open for me to schedule the time i was there, but I am so glad, God was looking out for me because wheewwww. Three hours was wild.
This was great! I have to go to the Louvre 😍 I also liked the mixture of sit down and clips from your experience. B roll top tier. Did you learn any French before going? Is that necessary?
@@DrTreMD omgoshhh Tre Dont make me blush. I was up all night the past two nights editing this video! So thank you for your kind words because GIRL. Lol i was about to throw the laptop away last night. 😂 I did not learn French and you definitely can get by without it in Paris and Nice. I will say I did have my sister give me a crash course and I started using it. I feel like if you know basic conversation youre good. I do know if you dont know it well. Dont bother. Lol they will prefer you to speak English. Not because they are being rude but mostly because France is soooo busy. If you know english its just quicker to get things done. Then struggle over the language barrier if you both speak English.
You missed a trick with the Scottish tap water. We are known for having the most delicious, fresh and tasty tap water… England does not share that accolade sadly but next time don’t waste your money buying it, just fill up a bottle from your tap. Thanks for pronouncing Edinburgh the correct way. A lot of Americans say Edin-boro which is incorrect. Hope you enjoyed our magical history. Oooh also there is an incredible book store next to the Playhouse at the top of Leith Walk … it’s on the corner and looks unassuming from outside but when you go upstairs it’s a gorgeous Labrynth of books. Def worth a visit x
I am so sad I did not know about the tap water beforehand! Like I had no idea, and I am so sad I didn't get to try it. I will be back in December during the Christmas season so I am going to try it then and will get it all on camera. I am most excited for my obtaining my retribution. lol You are correct about it not being mentioned in England. I am in London quite frequently and I usually default to bottled water. Thank you for your tip for the bookstore. Do you happen to know the name of it? I would love to go and check it out the next time I am there. I will be in Edinburgh for Three days. I want to pack as much as I can in during those three days. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet and providing your tips! I cannot wait to implement them on my next trip to your beautiful city. 💕
