Thanks for watching! It just takes practice, and the goal is to have fun and enjoy it. One tip I might be able to give is to buy a cheap model kit and use it just for practice. I did that with a Revell F-15 before building a nicer Academy F-15E (prior to starting the channel). I used the Revell kit to practice air brushing, and the defferent layers of paint and weathering. It gave me confidence to build a nicer kit, and took the pressure off. Now I try to just get a little better with each model and figure what works for me. Also, from personal experience, it is easy to fall into a trap of comparing yourself to others. I then called the channel the Pursuit because I wanted to enjoy the process of getting better with each project. Hope that helps, Happy scale modeling!

@@scalemodelpursuit I certainly did...one question though...the chaff and flare dispensers, did you leave them bare metal (unpainted)? Im doing the same kit and it says not to paint them.

I'm still in the process of assembling the bike...and struggling with the chain. some of the clips did not click correctly and a few links have come undone when I removed the chain from the plastic rig... I'm painstaikingly trying to put the thing back together, but those damn clips still won't click. I hope the wheels won't be as hard to assemble

I understand your pain, same thing happened to me, I ended up using some super glue is select areas where the clips were coming undone. Definitely a challenging task

Hey thank you for the kind message! I love that you are in the learning mode, I am too. That’s actually why I named the channel the “Pursuit” because I hope to always keep learning new things. On the primer roughness, I do try to keep paint applications thin to preserve details, but I do like to go back with 1000 grit sanding sponge and smooth it out a little before painting. Same thing after each coat of paint and clear

I also do that with 3000 grit sponges from tamiya on my primer coats. Is 3000 too much of a grit? Also yeah, I guess I should do that on every coat of paint and clear, as you say!

Thank you! And yeah the Eduard decals were great, nice and thin film but still robust. The orange stripe was a bit translucent, but I went back over it with some orange oil paint and that fixed it.

Hi there, I have an exclusive video for channel members at Mach3 level that is a step by step build of it, but basically I bought some basswood strips and made a sketch of the shape of the two ends and used a “chop it” from Micro Mark to cut all the pieces precisely. Then painted it similar to weathering an aircraft model

I used Alumilite Clear Cast Epoxy
